New year’s eve is here! I’m putting the final touches on my glittery outfit and preparing my feet for a night on the town in stilettos… wait, no, it’s 2014 not 2003, so I’ll actually be cozied up in jammies, sipping wine with family and watching the Georgia Tech game. And it sounds awesome. Haha.
True to blogger form, I’ve rounded up the most popular posts of 2014 based on pageviews. Google analytics is a fabulous little tool that I really should learn to navigate. Add that to my 2015 goal list.
A few fun facts it did fill me in on though is that this blog was viewed 2.4 million times in 2014, Pinterest was my top referring website, I wrote 260 posts and I had 1,305 visits from Thailand (…if you’re reading this, would you like to house swap for a week?!).
Moving on, I love these little look-backs of the year because I am always surprised at least once by a post that makes it into the top 10 that I never planned on being so well received. In contrast, I’ve also put a lot of time and effort into some big fat flops of posts, but c’est la vie! So enough jibber jabber, here they are…
#10 Kaitlyn Elizabeth’s Birth Story – I’m so glad Kaitlyn’s birth story made the top 10. Not because it was anything crazy, but because it clearly was THE highlight of my year.
#9 13 Simple Toddler Meal Ideas – I’m ramping up to really dig more into Munchkin Meals and Kaitlyn’s eating habits in this new year, so get ready to link up, if you’re interested!
#8 Brown Sugar & Bourbon Glazed Salmon – This is still a family favorite. Delicious and surprisingly simple.
#7 Broccoli Cheddar Quinoa Bites – Ah, a good reminder to bust these out again soon for Kaitlyn!
#6 Spinach & Ricotta Stuffed Shells (Bulk Recipe for Freezing) – Ok, I’m getting hungry now.
#5 Three Things I’m Doing Differently for My Second Pregnancy
#4 31 Days to a More Organized Home & Mind – I am 100% doing this again starting TOMORROW. Beginning the year by cleaning up our house was such a great way to kick off a fresh start.
#3 My Five Favorite Pregnancy Items – It’s amazing how I can barely remember being pregnant now. My how the memory fades!
#2 Tips for Breastfeeding a Newborn – Breastfeeding is always controversial, but by using these tips, it made things go more smoothly for me the second time around.
and the number one post from 2014…
#1 Chocolate Dipped Banana Bites – I NEVER would have guessed these would be so popular, but simple really is often best, isn’t it? And I can’t lie, they’re delicious.
Thank you all for being a part of my life. For reading, for commenting, for emailing and for sharing part of your life with me. I could have never guessed how writing in this little spot would positively influence my life and as we head into a new year, I just wanted to say thanks.
See you next year!!!
How are you planning on bringing in 2015?

I absolutely adore your blog and you! As a mom-to-be and now new mom I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts, tips, ups and downs – such a great place to come and realize babies are unpredictable and we are not alone. Wishing you a wonderful new year!

Wow! Great job on your blog stats! You really do a wonderful job with your writing, content, whit and humor, daily blogging (which I think makes a huge difference in people reading you vs unpredictably writing every now and then) Your rock chica!!
Ahhh, NYE plans… I’d like to say I am gearing up for an awesome adults only 80’s party Jayson and I were invited to in the neighborhood, but alas, we cancelled plans given the recent flu and now Emmy’s ear infection. I think we are heading in the right direction today, but she seems to be up every 2 hours looking for me and it didn’t seem fair to a babysitter. Sooooooo, a trip to Fresh Market and family video it is. (and my new favorite oversized fleece scotty dog red Christmas PJ pants– yes the visual alone has you jealous…)
My nanny, on the other hand, is going to uptown for the launch party for the new app called ‘Socialtopia’. It sounds like something we totally would have loved back in the day… you know, when we were cool and needed to know where the best drink specials were. So living vicariously through her. Oh to be cool again. 😉

It has to be so much fun reviewing what posts were popular over the past year! I love your blog and coming to this space everyday to see what is going on in your world, read about your growing girls, learn some new kitchen hacks or a delicious recipe. You are a constant inspiration. Thanks for providing such wonderful and useful everyday information on your blog. I can’t wait to see what you post in 2015. Happy New Year.

Great post and good timing–I just pulled the stuffed shells out of the freezer (that you made at Thanksgiving) to have for dinner tonight. Yum! Happy New Year!

Congrats on your successful blogs and incredible numbers. Loved re-visiting the picture of you being pregnant and the resulting beautiful Kaitlyn. Word Press just gave me my top five blogs for the year. My top one was “Ladies, the reasons men go silent”. Interesting. Enjoy your jammies and family fun time including helping Tech to win (as you did bringing the Dawgs home with a big win over Petrino/Grantham.

I was hoping Kaitlyn would fall in there somewhere in the top 10!! Also, was Pinterest your top referring website because you pinned your own images there or other people? I feel like I’m still constantly learning how to use that website!! Also, your first paragraph made me laugh. Maybe in our dreams will we be wearing stilettos and staying out all night (because I’m definitely not doing that in real life either haha).

I think I’ve commented multiple times on your blog how reading about BLW with Hailey made me do it with my daughter and it was one of best decisions I made.
Thank you for taking time to share tidbits

I have read your blog on and off for a while, but ever since you and I were pregnant at the same time I have become an almost daily reader. A lot of other blogs I used to love have turned into shill-houses that don’t tell me much about the person’s day to day life, and that’s what I always loved about HLBs, so I’m glad you still stick to that! Also, I just made the chicken enchilada recipe on here for my husband last night and it was a hit!
I am ringing in 2015 just like you are–in heels and sparkles. Oh no, wait, I, too have a 7 month old: I’ll be asleep by nine.

Great minds think alike! I *literally* just scheduled my 2014 top 10 to post tomorrow, also based on page views. 🙂 But all of mine happened to be recipes. Guess not as many people care what I have to say unless it’s about food…LOL! And it is very eye opening to see what is most popular.
And LOL on your comment about 2003. We are spending NYE at home in our jammies as well. And would it be a crime if we did an early countdown so we can go to bed?! Ah, how priorities change!
Happy New Year!!

Love love your blog! Your life so closely mirrors mine, it’s so nice to see how you navigate babies, marriage, fitness, meals, etc, etc. I really enjoy all of your recipes as well. I make the brown sugar bourbon salmon weekly…hmmm! Wishing you and your sweet family a happy new year and p.s. I too will be sipping vino in my jammies with the hubs tonight!

Love the blog Brittany, you are a highlight in my SAHM day with my coffee over here in London. I love the insight into your life, cute family photos and positive, friendly and real vibe, it is so fun and makes me smile. As someone alone with a three year old from 6.30 am until 8pm it is great. I also appreciate you reply to the emails I’ve sent.
Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year x

Happy New Year to my favorite blogger! Thank you for sharing your days, weeks, months, and year with us! Can’t wait to see what’s ahead for you in 2015.
I will be celebrating the Ball drop on East Coast time (instead of PST) because I woke up with a nasty cold this am. I definitely plan on having at least a little bit of champagne along with my chicken soup though! 🙂
