It’s been a busy week! Monday we drove to Tennessee and back to check out a property we’re considering for a short term rental investment. It was a whirlwind 8 hours in the car (in which my kids were total screen zombies), but being a mountain girl at heart, just getting a chance to breathe in that Smoky Mountain air for a brief moment was invigorating.
Needless to say, I never could guess which day of the week it was correctly after that!
Anyway… do you guys ever keep a running list of things you want to talk to someone about? I do. I have post-its stuck on my desk that I have lists of things I don’t want to forget to talk with someone about, whether that’s David or a friend. My brain is all over the place and they are often my saving grace. Today’s post is one of those lists; things I didn’t want to forget to share with you…
Joy Organics CBD
You have heard me talk about the CBD I use and love for over a year now, but I needed to bring it up again because they just launched a new product- CBD Soft Gels with Melatonin. I won’t lie, these intimidated me at first because when I use melatonin I typically take 1 mg and these have 3 mg, but I took one two nights ago and slept so well. It gently helped me get to sleep and I slept soundly and deeply all night long. I’m so happy to have these in my arsenal now.
Remember, you can use AHS25 for 25% off your entire order, every order. If you’re new to CBD, my personal favorites I’d recommend are: CBD Soft Gels, CBD gummies, and the full spectrum CBD Tincture. Read how the different CBD delivery methods compare and see which is right for you.
I am a bit of a memory junkie. I make annual family albums, record birthday interviews with the girls, keep all their school work in bins, etc. Well last year in my small business favorites post, I shared Jessica Beaver Creative with you.
She creates the most beautiful silhouette keepsakes and recently reached out to generously extend a discount code to you- AHEALTHYSLICE will get you 10% off silhouettes through May 10, which is awesome because I really think these would make such a great Mother’s Day gift!
Honey Chili Lime Marinade
I updated my go-to fajita marinade recipe because I felt it was pigeonholed in it’s category as only a Portobello mushroom marinade when it works beautifully for chicken, too.
Yesterday I marinated both chicken and Portobello mushooms in the marinade, then pan seared then chicken before placing it on a foil-lined making sheet with the mushrooms. I put them all in at 350 degrees convection, and they were ready to go about 25 minutes later. Delicious!
When I received my order yesterday, it reminded me that the friends and family sale is now live! It runs through April 27, but apparently items sell out quickly I’ve been told. The details: 15% off retail prices and if you spend $250, you’ll get 20% off! I just bought this tinted moisturizer and am really liking it.
I’m looking for new podcasts, so please send me your favorites. In that spirit, I wanted to share a few episodes I’ve really enjoyed lately with you:
- Truth, Lies, and Everything In-Between: Q&A with Dave Hollis
- Helping and Healing Your Hormones with Dr. Carrie Jones – I don’t know this one won’t link right now, but check out the Just Ingredients podcast to find it
- How to Get Your Energy Back Today with Dr. Amy Shah
- The Surprising Reason Why Some Kids Struggle and Others Shine with Dr. Michele Borba
- History Storytime – this one is for the kids, though I have really enjoyed it as well! They are short (8-10 minute) episodes about historical events done by a father and his daughters that are very entertaining!
My reading has slowed down, though I do owe you a review of The Four Winds and Before We Were Yours. I have finished them both and am now listening to Maybe You Should Talk to Someone, which I’ve heard good things about. Once I finish it, I’ll give a review of all three! Have you read anything fantastic lately?
I finally bought some yarn yesterday and am making my grand return to knitting. Thank you, Youtube, for having excellent knitting for beginners content. This video about how to cast on was so simple to follow! Now, I’m just over here killin’ it…
That’s all for now from here. Off to teach the children!
Share with me a podcast you’ve loved or a hobby you’re taking up or a book that’s worth reading!… or where you have the best luck with bathing suits because I’m usually an Athleta girl but am open to branching out.
