I hope everyone is enjoying their 3 day weekend! I figure everyone is still vacationing and playing, so I wasn’t going to blog today, but I figured I should let you know who isn’t celebrating Labor Day…
Baby D.
My experimentations show that Baby D is completely immune to spicy foods.
I took the bump to Mexican.
I took the bump to the bar… and got some great looks while I sipped on a super spicy (virgin) bloody mary.
I chowed down on extra jalapenos.
I even drenched my delicious omelet in spicy salsa.
I decorated for fall and went on a long walk this morning.
And I feel…
as good as ever.
So in short, Happy Labor Day to everyone… but me.
Official due date: tomorrow.
Chances of a baby arriving on it’s due date: 5%.
Commence pity party 😉
Heather @ Side of Sneakers says
Maybe try reverse psychology and eat the blandest foods you can come up with? 😉
I have a feeling with the amount of spiciness I eat on a daily basis, my babe would be immune too.
Hopefully baby comes soon! 🙂
Kristin @ eat healthy. be happy. live well says
Hopefully it will be Labor Day for you today 🙂 You never know when that little munchkin will want to make an appearance!
Molly @ Duchess of Fork says
That baby is comfy! He/she will be here before you know it. Enjoy one last loooooooong nap today!
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
You cracked me up! Baby D is a tough little bugger. I’m not so sure that I could tolerate all of those spicy foods!
Jennifer says
Aw! Sorry you haven’t had any luck yet but labor day is only a few hours in. There is still plenty of time for Baby D to make an appearance.
Mac says
Start doing squats and going for long walks and whatever else speeds up the process… I’m rooting for Baby D to come on time 🙂
Suzanne says
I am not celebrating Labor Day either because I’m sitting here 6 days overdue and still feel great-aka not going into labor. Hope you have a nice day anyway. I’ll be sure to let you know how my induction (UGH) goes this week because this little guy is clearly not leaving on his own.
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Have a great day Brittany — and Baby D is celebrating — in your belly 😉
Roz@weightingfor50 says
Hi Brittany. Well labour day isn’t QUITE over yet. It IS possible. “Baby D….we’re waiting for you!!! Come on out…it’s nice out here.” Take care Brittany. (try driving over the speed bumps!! My sister in law swears it brought on labour for both of her babies…. 🙂 Disclaimer: I have not given birth, so all tips and advice from me should be taken with a grain of salt. Turning cartwheels, driving over speed bumps, and eating 36 fresh figs should only be undertaken after consultation with a physician. ah, ha, ha…)
Graze With Me says
Lol. I always thought it’d be ironic if I went into labor on Labor Day. Could still happen for ya!
Anastasia says
Aw, baby D is already lovin’ the spicy foods! Enjoy labor day and remember.. the day is not over yet! :]
JenRD says
I feel ya! My due date is Saturday, and I still feel great, energetic, and like baby is completely comfy and cozy, and not ready to come out yet! I took a walk this morning, and a random lady on the street actually asked me, “Is today your due date–it is Labor Day!”
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
awww…baby D is just so comfortable right now. 🙂
haha, I bet you got some hilarious looks at the bar.
Liz @ iheartvegetables says
Haha it would be so funny if you went into labor on labor day!
Lauren says
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
ashley@piesandpushups says
Brittany – you are too funny! I’m cheering for you and your sweet baby! I bet this week will be YOUR week! Enjoy your holiday today and just think…1 day VERY soon you will be celebrating a brand new holiday – your precious baby’s birthday! 🙂
Erin says
Just remember…you can’t be pregnant forever. One way or other the kid has to come out. This was the only thing that kept me sane as I went 11 days past my due date:) Hopefully you won’t have to wait that long! Good luck.
Kate says
I love this post (even though I don’t love that baby D is still an inside baby)- I’ve been hoping ONE of the pregnant bloggers I follow would have a real labor day!
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says
Fingers crossed he or she gets here soon!!!
Allison @ PickyEatingRD says
There’s still a few hours left of Labor Day you never know! Plus with all that spice baby d may be good and ready to get the heck out!
Brooke @ Veggie Table says
You are cracking me up, haha!

At least you are having a great time while waiting for baby to arrive and not sitting at home and throwing the pity party.
Shari says
Fingers crossed your little one will be part of that 5% and make an appearance today!!
John J. says
Thinking of you as you prepare so well for Baby D.’s appearance.
Kelly says
Come on Baby D, you know you want to meet us all 🙂
Jen says
Very ironic indeed! I so hope you’re in the 5% and Baby D arrives today 🙂
Diane says
I was so hoping that Baby D would make HIS appearance on Sunday, my husband’s 60th birthday. Oh well. Long, long ago my son was born more than 2 weeks after my due date. Guess it just take longer for some little ones “to cook” than others … have been thinking about you, good luck. Can’t wait for the news!
