Wow 5:45 felt like it came early this morning, but we had a great weekend! Friday evening we watched Hailey play soccer. Switching her from club to rec, a choice we were originally a little nervous about, has worked out so well. She likes her teammates, David can help coach, and it’s given her the opportunity to be a leader on the team as her knowledge and skill base is more developed. It’s so fun to watch!
After her game we got dinner at Mac’s, which we were happy to learn isn’t shutting down after all. David and I split pork nachos and listened to live music while the kids housed burgers and found a spot to play solitaire.
Saturday we eased into the day with back porch coffee drinking and letting the girls watch The Addams Family movie, followed by some original episodes. They are jumping head first into Halloween! 26 of the Best Halloween Movies for Young Kids.
We played around at the soccer fields before cheering Kaitlyn on in her midday game. Afterwards we headed to Davaste Vineyards in Troutman to hang out with friends and listen to live music. Danielle and I took the day off of food prep and we picked up two fajita boxes from Moe’s ($39 each) which happily fed our whole crew.
Can anyone teach me to pose for a picture without my hand on my hip? 🤔
Sunday started off with homemade whipped cream on hot chocolate; my first time using my new Kitchen Aid I got for my birthday. Bring on fall baking! David and I did leg day, the kids played with friends, and I made David’s famous chili for dinner (it’s our week of family favorite dinners, which is so mentally refreshing).
September winds down this week. I’m planning on using this week to tie up some necessary lose ends. I still need to get my “Real ID” (updated license). I also need to get an oil change and schedule dental cleanings for all of us and confirm my dermatology appointment. I go annually because skin cancer runs in my family. We’re also finalizing the content on the new websites for Sweet Home Bearolina and The Overlook.
We are closing on one of our long term rental homes we are selling in Charlotte, and listing the other one that we just renovated (I use the term “we” loosely, as my friend, Michelle, headed the whole thing up). Hoping to make it down to see it staged before it hits the market midweek. Want to see before and afters?!
I also want to order a 2023 planner. I’m debating whether I need a “fancy” one or if I should just grab a more affordable option from Target. I like the weekly view and don’t use a lot of the extra bells and whistles. If you’re a paper planner kind of person, which one is your favorite?
I hope your weekend was a good one and that a positive Monday energy ushers you through the day; thanks for stopping by and engaging with me this morning! 🙂

I LOVE my Erin Condren Life Planner! I don’t use the bells and whistles that they come with (really just some stickers) but love the flexibility in layout (horizontal, or vertical and broken down by hour, depending on what season of life I’m in and what I’m juggling!). They’re a bit pricier but I just find them so easy to use and I truly use it from front to back.

I always hear such a great things about her planners; I’ll check them out- thanks!

I’m using a Laurel Denise horizontal planner this year. I love the monthly and weekly view on 1 page. I also really loved the Passionate Penny Pincher planner last year so I will definitely be using her checklists again this year.

Going to google Laurel Denise, as that is new to me. Thank you! 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful weekend for you. The hand on the hip photo looked very normal to me. Haha.
This weekend was amazing for us. We had the best weather, went on a hike, and a long bike ride in the hood. My dad was over for dinner and we spent a lot of quality time together.

Sounds like such a great weekend! Our continued dropping temperatures have me itching to go on a hike, too!

Brittany, the ‘jump to latest post’ button no longer works on mobile (or at least, on my iPhone).
Brittany Dixon says
Oh no! Can you try to clear the cache and see if that helps? If not, let me know and I’ll look more into it. Thank you!

Doesn’t work for me either! I thought you hadn’t posted in a few weeks, but I just checked on browser.
Brittany Dixon says
Oh no, I need to look into this. Would it be helpful if I offered a way to get new posts to send to your email?
Also, try to clear your cache and see if that helps. For some reason, that tends to fix it sometimes.

I’m a paper planner person! However, I love a good monthly view with note pages for all random ideas, notes and lists. I’ve been using Erin Condren for years, and they are by far my favorite!

I can’t believe September is almost over! I love a paper calendar. I just use one from target. I like ones that can fit (just barely!) into my purse for times when I need to bring it along. Yes, show the before and after pics of the house!

Ok, going to snap some today; the sneak peek we saw looks awesome! Makes me want someone to come stage my house- ha 🙂
