As a food lover and recipe junkie, I love sharing my weekly meal plans, complete with pictures and family feedback. You can find past weeks’ plans on my weekly meal plans page and see more of what we’re eating on instagram and snapchat. Happy eating!
This past week was a bit unusual in that we had Saturday night plans out. What the wha? Could it be that as we leave the baby phase our social life is starting to reemerge?! Anyway, the plan looked like this:
We had Papa Murphy’s pizza Friday and wings and things at a sports bar on Friday before heading to Molly’s party. However, I still did all my grocery shopping on Friday, per usual.
I didn’t do too much meal prep because I still had breakfast burritos in the freezer, but I did make another batch of turmeric and ginger tonic. I’m hooked on having it first thing every morning now!
So, let’s start with Sunday.
Sunday
Grilled Steak and Lobster Tails with Roasted Brussels and Baked Sweet Potato
Family feedback: The girls love lobster. Go figure! The steak was too chewy for Kaitlyn, but Brussels are their favorite so they downed those along with the sweet potato which I baked, then slightly smashed with a little maple syrup and cinnamon.
*Steak and lobster aren’t a typical meal for us, but we had the steak in the freezer and Whole Foods had a great sale of lobster tails, so we got all fancy for the night.
Monday
Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs over Brown Rice
Family Feedback: Girls seriously loved this recipe and asked for seconds. David needed to add a little splash of hot sauce for more flavor, but it’s a keeper. Obviously, it’s one of my 8 favorite slow cooker meals for busy fall nights!
Tuesday
Greek Gyro Meatballs over Copycat Bad Daddy’s Stella Greek Salad
Family Feedback: If you have not tried my recipe for gyro burgers, stop. Go write it on your list for next week and make them. They are SO delicious. I used the same recipe but made them into meatballs and baked them at 375 for about 40 minutes.
David face plants into this dish (it’s a favorite of his by far) and the girls gobbled up their salad and liked dipping the meatballs in tzatziki. *salad recipe to come– I’m working on perfecting it first.
Wednesday
Greek Shrimp Pasta (over Zoodles for me)
Family Feedback: It was a little spicy for the girls, but they still ate most of it because they like shrimp. I ended up giving them yogurt instead of seconds though because they were complaining of their mouths burning (wimps, but I guess I’ll leave out the red pepper flakes next time). David and I both love this dish (another fav) but I’ll admit, it’s much better over real pasta instead of zoodles. I’ll just have pasta next time.
Thursday
Glowing Spiced Lentil Soup with Garlicky Green Beans
Family Feedback: I adore the flavor of this soup; it’s one of my favorites. The girls both ate it (drank, really because we use for soup– they suck out the liquid then eat the other components with the spoon– they eat much more soup this way!) and said it was “good” but asked for seconds of garlicky green beans instead. David likes the flavor (especially the coconut milk part) a lot and says it’s fine for a meatless meal, but it wouldn’t be his first option if he was requesting dinner.
A quick note: daylight savings has made my lighting situation something pretty terrible. I’m working on a solution so I can have better pictures to share, so stay tuned!

I love these posts! I shop at Whole Foods and menu plan as well. I already had your gyro burgers pinned but haven’t tried them yet. I’m definitely going to change that asap!

That lentil soup recipe is a favorite at our house, too! I usually add a large diced sweet potato (or diced butternut squash), and sometimes I add an extra half cup or so of lentils, too. Makes the soup much more filling!

I made these mashed cauliflower “potatoes” from food Faith Fitness last week and they were pretty great! Made a ton too. http://www.foodfaithfitness.com/cauliflower-mashed-potatoes-5-ingredients/
