Happy Friday!
I found the culprit to Kaitlyn’s sleep troubles! Her top right incisor is just barelyyyyyy starting to poke through. Poor baby does not take kindly to teething, but now that I can feel the tooth starting to break through I hope she feels some relief soon. In the meantime, I really don’t mind the extra snuggles, as she is getting so big so fast and hangs off the chair when I try to hold her now. Sniffle.
Well, that’s not exactly the intro I was imagining, but here we are. So let’s jump right in and let me tell you about a few things I’m loving lately!
Koda’s treatments are almost over and she’s been doing great! Her last one is in two weeks, at which time we’ll do a biopsy to see how things are going. 20% of dogs treated for canine lymphoma live 2+ years beyond diagnosis, and I know it’s not the largest percentage, but right now I’m praying to be in that 20%.
In other news, she got into a rancid, washed up fish yesterday. Her breath still reeks. Thankfully the above picture was not taken after said fish. Ew.
Have I ever shown you this?
For our wedding (6 years ago!) we displayed family wedding photos of our parents and grandparents, complete with wedding date. Hailey stumbled across these a few months ago and insisted on displaying them on her dresser. She won’t let me move them now and my heart swells with pride to be raising a fellow nostalgic photo lover!
So the other day I mentioned we bought a half cow share from a friend who raises grass-fed, local cows. We weren’t really sure what we were getting into, but the price was incredible, averaging only $4.50/lb so we went for it and woah. We now have quite a bit of beef!
For us, who eat red meat about once a week, we might have overdone it. So any friends that visit in the next calendar year, prepare yourself for burgers, roasts and steak. Ha! But really. The quality is great and David made us a print out to keep track of all the cuts.
I can’t wait to experiment with some of the more unusual (for me) cuts and David has the sous vide ready to tackle them all!
Let’s talk summer clothes.
I know, I know. I hear you. Brittany, why don’t you do beautiful fashion photo shoots like this all the time?! Note taken.
But let me tell you about these simple sundresses from Old Navy (that are currently on sale!). They are so comfortable and light weight and I’ve pretty much been living in them.
And while we are talking clothes…
Have you ever seen anything cuter than baby crocs?!
I bought them on super sale through zulily a month or so ago, along with Hailey’s sparkly version, and the girls have lived in them since. When we get ready to go anywhere, I’ll tell Kaitlyn to get her shoes and she’ll speed toddle over to grab these. She loves them!
Ok, to wrap things up, cheese baby cheese.
Alouette’s Le Petite Fromage. They are made with cheese and a touch of yogurt with herbs and spices and are the perfect size for a snack or to add to an omelet, like I’ve been doing. They’re delicious!
Don’t forget to check out my giveaway (ends Sunday) and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
What’s one thing you are loving lately?

poor babe with her tooth- ouch! This week I’m loving vacation on the lake with my family!

I’m so glad things are going well with Koda!! And I love how those family photos look displayed!
Erica {Erica@EricaDHouse.com} says
Now I want to go to Old Navy! I hate that ours doesn’t have a maternity section. I was heading into town anyway to run errands so I may swing by and look at their baby clothes 🙂

Ooh we’ve talked about buying half s cow. That spread sheet is amazing!!
I’m loving being a SAHM for the summer! My son loves the slow lazy mornings and I love all the extra time enjoying him at this age!
Jessica @ Our Young Adventures says
That’s a lot of beef! We have been thinking about getting a portion of a cow, but, like you, we eat beef maybe once a week. Can’t beat that price though! I love simple dresses, and speaking of prices, theirs too! Have a great weekend.
Alex @ get big, go to work says
So much meat!!! 🙂 seems worth it though for such quality meat at an affordable price. This may sound so weird but lately I have been loving fresh coconut meat. I found this during a recent trip to our Whole Foods and it makes such a delicious and refreshing snack! Have a great weekend.

I’m trying to talk my family into getting part of a cow, all grass-fed and whatnot but I don’t know that they’re really for it. I just keep thinking how we won’t need to buy meat for awhile. That’d be all the incentive I need, honestly.
And I’m loving iced coffee. It’s summer, and iced coffee is just so darn refreshing!
Alyssa @ RenaissanceRunnerGirl says
Definitely loving sundresses and ice cream lately with all the heat and humidity up north! I love the photo display, I’m all about that sort of thing.

I really enjoy your blog and Kaitlyn is a few months older than my little girl so I love seeing what she’s up to. Have you ever tried an amber teething necklace on Kaitlyn? I thought they were complete voodoo but my little one has been wearing it since about 4 months old and it has made a WORLD of difference. Plus, they look adorable 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Yes I bought one for her when she was little (3-4 months) and now I’ve LOST it. Ugh, I could totally kick myself (and have) because I do think they help and agree, so cute 😉
Ashley @ Running Bun says
My daughter has baby crocs too! They are so perfect for everyday summer wear!!!
Parita @ myinnershakti says
I love that H wanted all those photos on her dresser! SO sweet!
Generally speaking, I’m just loving the summertime vibes – people just seem happier!
Heather says
That is so cute that Hailey has the photos displayed on her dresser! Also good to know that when we look into buying part of a cow, that half might be too much for us (or our freezer) – Ha ha!
Things I’m loving? Pretty much everything… it’s Friday! 🙂
Morgan @ Morgan Manages Mommyhood says
I have never seen those little alouettes!! I used to love it as a kid, but they tubs are too big for just me (the hubs isn’t as much of a cheese lover as I am.. I know.) I’ll eat it all by myself, but I totally shouldn’t!
Kristine @ Kristine's Kitchen says
That sundress is SO super cute! And those little cheeses look delish! Sending positive thoughts for Koda!
Niki @ Life With Niki says
Love the dresser- I always enjoy looking at other people’s nicely framed photos in their houses. I should probably do that… except I literally only have selfies and food pictures on my phone ;). As much as I don’t very much enjoy crocs, I love both of those pink ones… so adorable <3.

Teething is the worst sleep disrupt-er ever! I am so glad to hear that Koda is doing well. Prayer for that to continue!
I am loving that our kitchen remodel is almost done! Yay!!
John J. says
Ah, Hailey and those pics! I surround myself in my offices with loving family pictures, too. Good positive energy flowing about.
Patricia @Sweet and Strong says
We have thought of going in with friends on getting a cow or a pig. But we don’t have a larger freezer yet to store everything. Let us know how it goes!
