Happy Friday y’all! I fully intended on having something of substance to share today (as substantial as these posts get anyway- wink), but it was a full week and I just couldn’t get my act together. My mom came to visit and we stayed busy filling our days with fun, so everything else pretty much fell by the wayside. If you’re up for some mindlessness, I’d love to show you want we’ve been up to…
Probably the highlight of the week was the girls day (sans kids) that we managed to pull off. Mom loves hanging out with the girls of course, but selfishly I just wanted some time with my momma to myself. I arranged childcare for a full day and we visited the Southpark area of Charlotte that has fantastic food and shopping.
Unfortunately my camera somehow ate the pictures I took, so I’m only left with the slightly blurry one above that Mom took with her phone. Luckily my memories are still in focus and the indulgent girls’ day will fuel me for a long time to come. We had a BLAST. And I can’t wait to show you some of the items I got because we definitely did a little damage.
Oops.
I’m sure David and Dad were thrilled to receive that picture. Ha.
Our ‘fancy’ lunch (first picture) was at Rooster’s in Southpark, which is where David and I went to open the envelope finding out Kaitlyn was a girl. It’s a great spot!
During her visit we also hit up Whole Foods, where I had to fend off my delicious noodles from a grabby Kaitlyn.
Can’t blame her- they are salted deliciousness.
Mom bought the girls matching Elsa nightgowns and they truly refused to take them off. Long live Frozen.
We went to a fall celebration at school, hit up Barnes and Noble, managed to fit in mani/pedi, and overall just had so much FUN.
By the way, I’m feeling pretty fancy with nail polish on my fingers, as I usually stay clear, but I couldn’t resist this fall color.
Mom made it to watch the girls swim before heading back out of town and it just so happened it was the day they informed us that Hailey would be moving up to the next class level. I’m proud of the progress she has made with swim lessons but watching her feel so proud of herself for earning that ribbon made my heart explode!
Needless to say, it was a go-go-go week, which was so much fun, but I think it wore the girls out.
See, I couldn’t get the Elsa nightgown off. Her sock however? She has a habit now of taking off her shoe, removing one sock, then putting her shoe back on. She does it every time we get in the car. Crazy baby.
I’d like to say we have a relaxing weekend ahead, but it’s HALLOWEEN and we have a party and night ‘o trick or treating ahead of us. I can’t wait. Then hopefully I’ll get back on my game and make some dinners at home. Not that I mind hitting up Bad Daddy’s every once in a while.
Lettuce buns > lettuce wraps.
I hope you have a wonderful SPOOKY weekend and I’ll see you in November 😉
What are your kids (or you??) going to be for Halloween?
Any fun plans this weekend?
Hailey is going to be a pirate princess, Kaitlyn is going to be a parrot and David and I are going to (try to) dress up as pirates. Arghhhh matey! 😉

Aww looks like a great week! Arn’t moms just the best?! I need to do that with my mom soon! Just wondering, have you turned Kaitlyn around in her car seat to forward facing yet? ( I can’t tell in the pic) I have a 16 month old and I’m tempted because everyone tells me she will be so much better in the car! Car rides are no fun to say the least for any of us in the car ?

Glad you and your Mom, my bride, had such a fun time. Super pic of two beautiful women! (I don’t think I will look at the credit card that documented the “fun time”!) Happy spooky Halloween to y’all.

The girls in their princess dresses!! Too cute!

Your girls day looks like so much fun. A little bit of wine, a little bit of shopping… 🙂
We don’t have any plans yet for the weekend (so not like us), but after your last photo I’m pretty sure it will involve burgers… 😉
Have a great one!

I love those nightgowns!! How on earth does Kaitlyn take off her shoe, then put it back on in her car seat! I can barely do that in the passenger seat! Any time I eat anything now, if my son is even vaguely close, his hands are going in it to steal some. Don’t even get me started on what happens if he sees my Chipotle bowl….

Looks like a great week for all the girls of three generations! I don’t think she will ever want to take off that Elsa dress though…

That photo of Kaitlyn sleeping with her nightgown on over her regular clothes is too cute! Please do a fashion post with all of your new finds! I am totally nosey about that kind of stuff and would love to see what you found!

I LOVE that nail color! It makes me want to go get a mani/pedi ASAP! 😉

Love the silly things that kids do. Ha ha! I’m wondering how many Elsa’s we’ll see tomorrow night. Our kids are Superman and Wonder Woman this year. They are all about the capes. 😉

What a fabulous two days! So much fun & success!
The picture of Kaitlyn asleep with her sock off had me smiling 🙂

Oh the girls look precious in those nightgowns! And I love the picture of the shopping bags in the trunk–hey, it’ll happen!
Happy Halloween!

I don’t think I’ve had time with my mom without kids since before kids (almost 3.5 years)! That’s a good idea. Those Elsa nightgowns are adorable! I may have to get one for our little sissy girl.

Love that color nail polish! And the girl are so cute in their Frozen dresses. 🙂

I want to see the shopping haul goods! When someone is near my size/height, I always like to steal their ideas 🙂
Hailey looks so proud – incredibly cute. I love when kids get opinionated with their clothing choices around Kaitlyn’s age. When I was nanny, the little boy I watched wanted to wear ALL of his pajamas to school (like five layers). They certainly have a mind of their own!
