Ah, another fashion post from your go-to style guru, moi! I kid, of course, I just always feel the need to poke fun at myself so you know I’m not serious about trying to discuss fashion. For one, I don’t have the poses down and for another, I really cringe at my selfies most of the time.
With Hailey, I was most pregnant during the warm months. I got away with sun dresses and flowing shirts for the majority of pregnancy. Now, however, I’m going to be big during the cold months. I considered resorting to muumuus and sweats, but figured that I need to look somewhat pulled together at least some of the time to maintain my dignity.
Since I can hardly dress myself when I’m not pregnant, I looked to my friends at Stitch Fix. {Updated- they now have maternity clothes!)
The great thing about this experience is that you can send them specifics of what you want. I detailed my need for clothes that were cute, but would accommodate a growing pregnant belly. I’m sure my stylist loved nothing more than having to figure out appropriate clothes for a short, pregnant woman.
I ripped open my box, not really sure if anything would work, but to my delight, I ended up really loving everything Hannah sent me! Here is how they look on my 16 week pregnant belly…
This stretchy, cowl neck shirt is perfect for layering and will accommodate a growing belly for at least another 2 months I imagine.
Everyone owns plenty of cardigans, right? Well, I don’t so I quickly fell in love with this soft, dark blue version that is easy to throw over any pregnancy shirt.
I actually wore this dress Saturday night to our gender reveal dinner with black maternity tights (THAT I LOVE- found at Target) and black boots. I felt like one of those cute, stylish pregnant women. It was a fun few hours of pretending to be fashionable!
This relaxed knitted sweater is so cozy. My belly may poke out the bottom of it sooner than later, but that’s what layers are for, right?
Finally, there were these gray leggings. I wasn’t sure about them at first because I don’t actually know how to wear leggings (see above picture), but they were so soft that I figured I could find some longer sweaters to go with them. And if not, I’ll keep them to use next year when I’m magically back to pre-pregnancy size a month after giving birth! (indulge my fantasies, will ya?).
I know, I know, I styled these pieces with pro-like perfection, but if you’re looking for other options, I love the cheat sheets that Stitch Fix always sends along.
They did not sponsor this post (ie: the clothes were not free and they didn’t know I was writing it), however, the links in this post are affiliate links, so if you do want to try them out, I’d sure appreciate you using the links in this post so I continue to strive to be somewhat pulled together

Now if only I could find some great, maternity-friendly work wear…
any suggestions??

OMG, those outfits are so, so cute!! I have been wanting to try Stitch Fix but haven’t really gotten around to it. Maybe after Thanksgiving, I’ll check it out.
Brittany Dixon says
You really should! It’s ridiculous how giddy I get when the box shows up on my front step. Makes me feel like a supah-stah! 😉
Shari says
Love all those outfits … each is cuter than the last! 🙂
Anastasia says
I really love that cardigan and the dress looks awesome on you! I found some fleece lined tights the other day and have been living in those since they’re so warm.
Heather @fitncookies says
I love the outfits! They are all adorable with a growing baby bump 🙂
Parita @ myinnershakti says
They did really great with this Fix! Love it!
And I’ve heard that H&M has some great maternity clothes.
Brittany Dixon says
Oh, you’re right, I’ve heard that! AND one just opened by me.Whoop whoop! 😉
Brittany from CountingMyCupcakes says
I love all of those clothes! I have seen you and many others write about Stitch Fix the past several months and kept telling myself I wouldn’t do it, I don’t need it, etc. Well…I caved haha. I signed up a couple weeks ago and will be getting my first shipment in January. Can’t wait! Hope they do as good for me as they did for you!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh I’m so excited for you!! It’s great, too, because the more feedback you give, the better they do with your next fix. Welcome to the addiction 😉

At 8w5d, I’m not into maternity clothes yet but my regular clothes are getting so uncomfortable. I look like I put on early holiday weight, but the scale is actually down 2 lbs.
I bought fleece lined leggings and a flowy cardigan this weekend that I’ll probably wear every other day 🙂
I’m just looking forward to making the public announcement at work, because I feel like people are noticing my fuller shaper and just assuming I’ve gained weight. (or I’m imagining it and am totally self-conscience right now :))
Brittany Dixon says
Congrats!! That beginning phase is so tough. I feel like I’m just getting out of the I’m-pregnant-not-growing-a-beer-gut phase 😉 I pulled out my maternity pants at 9 weeks this time because it wasn’t worth being uncomfortable. So excited for you and fleece-lined leggings sounds amazing!
Chantal says
You look great!! And gender reveal…? Don’t leave me hanging!
Brittany Dixon says
Ahhh I can’t wait to share!! We are telling our families at Thanksgiving/this weekend, so I’ll announce it here next week 🙂
Jen says
SO cute! But with my super-long torso (and huge belly) I needed real maternity clothes weeks ago! My favorite is GAP maternity – cute stuff that’s not muumuus and I can usually find coupons.
Rachel says
You crack me up. You are still so tiny even when pregnant! Leggings were *key* during my second pregnancy; super comfy & perfect for chasing a toddler. I don’t remember what brand I wore but I had friends swear by Old Navy’s maternity leggings. Just get a few cheap long tanks & some long cardigans, throw on some boots & you’ve got yourself a stylish & comfy bump friendly outfit 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
I LOVE your suggestion…almost as much as I love that you called me tiny- haha. I should post evening pictures 😉
I am on the lookout now for more leggings and cardigans! Thanks!

I love all those outfits on you! You look great. My go-to maternity place was Kohl’s — they actually have petite length maternity pants!!!! I got a couple pairs of pants for work, and it was so nice to not worry about hemming them! (I’m 5’3) For workout clothes, I actually got a couple pairs of non-maternity yoga pants at Target – they had the foldover waistband and accomodated my growing belly perfectly. Also, I have found places like Goodwill to be an absolute treasure trove of inexpensive, lightly worn maternity clothes – typically from places like Gap and Motherhood Maternity. If you don’t mind searching through the racks, you can get come great stuff.
Elizabeth @ My Neon Running Shoes says
What a great idea! You are too cute 🙂 I was just shopping for maternity clothes yesterday also… so fun!
Ashley says
You look so adorable! I love everything they sent! I need to know where those nude flats and black pants in the first post are from! Also, who makes that sweater in picture 4? Please!
I agree with the person who posted about leggings, a great pair of boots and then mixing and matching basic maternity tees with long cardigans and fun print scarves. I literally had a few black, white, and gray longer tees and layered everything. I didn’t want to invest too much in cold weather stuff since I was only big for two months of cold! Work wear – I bought a pair of black pants I really loved from Target (you’ll have to have them hemmed) and a few dresses to wear with tights/cardis at Motherhood and Target. I found reasonably priced work wear that didn’t look incredibly cheesy maternity hard to come by. If you’re in Atlanta over the holidays, the Lenox Macy’s has a really good maternity section.
Brittany Dixon says
Nude flats are from J Crew… from about 3 years ago haha. The black pants are maternity from GAP. I highly suggest them, pregnant or not 😉
The sweater is made by Kutfrom the Kloth (http://www.kutfromthekloth.com/)
I love the idea of layering with long tanks and cardigans- I just need to go out and pick some up! Thanks!!
Emily S says
soooo cute! i love the second outfit, especially!
Katrina says
Hmmmm…
Target is great for staples, but my cousins (I’m unmarried and too young for babies!), really love zulily. Their maternity section is really fantastic (read: reasonable and cute). It’s completely online, but the customer service is grrreat (channeling Tony the Tiger here, please forgive me).
Other than that, Old Navy maternity gets some things in that would be work wear appropriate.
I’m so excited for you, can’t wait to find out the gender of this munchkin. 🙂
Katie says
I had a lot of luck with Gap maternity when I was pregnant. I had a store about 20 mins from me and they always seemed to have great sales when I went in. Actually I’m wearing my maternity leggings from Gap right now because they are that comfortable. (I’m not pregnant and my daughter is 16 months old…no shame). Good luck!
Maria says
Now that was a winning box! I adore the cardigan (obviously, since I’m the Cardigan Queen) with the white tee and scarf. Perfect fall outfit!
And how adorable is that little 16 week bump?
Danielle says
As a follow short, unfashionable woman, I always look forward to your Stitchfix posts. I can’t afford Stitchfix, but seeing your suggestions give me ideas of how to expand my horizon away from only t-shirts, pants, and tennis shoes.
Love the outfits they sent you. That is one well dressed bump. 🙂
Marjorie says
Cute!!! I struggle with fashion, especially post-kid. You look great. I’ll have to check out StitchFix.

Love everything! You’re too cute! Don’t feel like you have to share this info, but about how much do you spend each month on Stitch Fix? I keep considering it, but the price makes me hesitant!
