Sure enough, after my night of Mexican food and a Negro Modelo, I got my groove back. I really credit the cardio strength class I had lined up. It’s what motivated me to eat a good breakfast.
2 scrambled eggs with salsa on Ezekiel toast, 1.5 slices of bacon and 1/2 a pear
I eat my main breakfast with Hailey around 8:00am, so I usually need a little snack when I first get up at 6:00am.
1/2 banana, Juice Plus gummies and coffee
Juice Plus is back in my life! But more abut that another day. Where was I? Oh yeah… cardio strength class. It kicked. My. Butt. in the best way.
I tend to start thinking I’m pretty strong and fit, then a class like this humbles me and I wake up in the morning aching from shoulders to calves.
But, the class worked. It hit my reset button and I left with renewed vigor for health and longing to fill my stomach with the good stuff.
Mixed baby kale and greens with homemade tuna salad, carrots, brown rice chips and hummus.
I love this hummus sampler I found at Whole Foods. It cost about the same as one package of Sabra.
Midafternoon called for a snack.
Handful of Blue Diamond almonds and Chobani Bite
Have you tried the new Chobani bites? Hailey loved the fig and orange zest, but I am partial to this coffee with dark chocolate. It has real chunks of dark chocolate in the yogurt and makes for a great afternoon pick-me-up! It held me over until dinner.
Romaine blend, black beans, avocado, tomatoes, feta, jalapenos and spicy shrimp with buffalo ranch
By far, one of my favorite salads. I licked my plate clean just so I wouldn’t waste any buffalo ranch.

I’ve only had the Raspberry and Dark Chocolate bites and I’ve been putting them in my office freezer. A few hours later = frozen yogurt!

Some gorgeous looking eats; I’ll have your salad minus the tuna! 🙂

I’ve been seeing the Chobani bites all over the blog world and have yet to find them in my grocery store! I look every time hoping they’ll magically appear…but no! So I end up going with the plain kind. 🙂

Hailey have such a beautiful smile 🙂
I like that Hummus sample pack a lot. That’s cool. Haven’t spot something like that here in SA yet. Hopefully soon.

I would love a post on Juice Plus. One of the nurses I work with swears by it — her OBGYN recommends it to all his pregnant patients and none who have taken it have had preeclampsia.

I think you’ve inspired me to actually take a class at the gym today instead of hanging out on the treadmill with Violets of March. I find that working out and eating healthy are mutually exclusive. When I do one, it’s so much easier to do the other.
Good luck in the Babble contest! Those were both great posts that I will need to refer back to in the (distant) future.

That salad looks AMAZING!! I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m having for dinner tonight! Being ash wednesday, i’m staying away from meat so that salad is literally PERFECT!!

I can’t wait to hear about the juice plus gummies!

I will definitely be on the lookout for that hummus sampler the next time that I am at Whole Foods. That looks like a way better deal than only getting one container of Sabra. Plus, I love the idea of having a variety of flavors to choose from!

I love my Juice Plus! I swear by it, I had the full Juice Plus effect after taking it, it really kick started me in to living a healthy lifestyle. I just signed up as a distributor I love it so much!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
Everything looks delicious! I received the other two Bites flavors, but have only tried the Chocolate Raspberry–YUM!–which is strange though, because the Caramel Pineapple is much more Miss Smart Strange. 🙂
I need to take more classes to get my strength routine in shape. I just don’t, and I’m not sure why. Maybe I love the moments of mind wandering that come with cardio and running, as opposed to having to focus much more when strength training. Perhaps I have attention issues.
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut says
I love that flavor of chobani! Seriously chocolate and coffee?? How can you go wrong! I also paired mine with almonds! But I am a little nervous to try the fig one…mainly because I’ve never had fig lol
