We had such a fun, fallish weekend! My inlaws came in town on Friday and that evening we attended a fundraiser benefiting local children that have aged out of foster care. The event, held at Trump National Golf Course, was gorgeous.
Still, the stories and speakers won out. It’s so powerful when people find a cause they are passionate about and make incredible things happen within it. It really was a fun and inspiring evening!
While we were getting ready, the girls decided they needed to “get fancy” as well. Of course we couldn’t resist a group shot!
The night went late but the next morning still came bright and early because…
#momlife. I love my new coffee cozie.
Coach David and Hailey were so much fun to watch on the field and per usual, Kaitlyn tried to steal the show.
After the game we grabbed Pub subs and headed to the Carolina Balloon Festival!
This is such a fun and well executed festival. I can’t believe how little Kaitlyn looked at last year’s event, but this year, both girls were geared up and ready to play.
First things first, we headed straight for the kid zone which features a variety of inflatables, balloon art, magic shows and more.
We waited in several lines but the girls didn’t mind because they love the inflatables.
We filled the afternoon with checking out the booths, listening to the music, and wandering.
Of course we hit up Hailey’s favorite, walking inside a hot air balloon!
She tells everyone this is her favorite festival of all due solely to this attraction.
She kept telling me it was like being inside a rainbow.
At this point we were trying to decide whether or not to stay since the late afternoon ascension appeared questionable thanks to the windy conditions. We decided to wait it out and filled the time the best way we knew how- snacks and relaxing.
What can I say? I love kettle corn.
We enjoyed the downtime, and waited until the last possible moment, but when they finally called the afternoon fights off at 5:30 pm, we decided it was time to go.

This marks two BalloonFests we’ve attended and have yet to see an ascension- ha. Maybe next year!
What is your favorite local fall festival?

What a fun way to spend the weekend even if you didn’t get to see any “take off”. I agree with Hailey–looks like a big rainbow 🙂

I thought those cozies were to either a)keep your tea warm or b) keep your hands from burning on the hot mug. What does yours do? I don’t think those contigo mugs get hot because they are amazing insulators, and they also DO NOT let your drink get cold, so………………?
Brittany Dixon says
You’re right! They keep my hands from getting hot. I just put it on because I think it’s cute and makes me smile 🙂 I usually keep it in my purse because we have some good coffee/tea cups at home, but the ones I get out always are too hot for my hands.

The Balloon Fesitval is the best! We went friday night and the balloons didn’t go up either, which was so sad. They did’t even have a balloon we could walk inside. I was so bummed. 🙁 Thank goodness the kids zone was a great time. Ha ha!
