This is a special edition of WIAW (thank to the wonderful Jenn!) because we’re on vacation! It took us a bit to get here. You see, Monday night David got home from work, our house sitter arrived and we hopped in the car and hightailed out of Charlotte as quickly as we could.
Unfortunately we missed the last ferry of the night, so we got a hotel, snuck Koda in and decided to try again Tuesday morning.
So yesterday we woke up, grabbed a bagel and a tea and enjoyed breakfast on the 8am ferry.
Better late than never, and we finally arrived at:
It’s my first time here and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Upon our arrival, we were met by the best welcome crew you could ask for. We’re here with David’s brother and his family and David’s mom and dad, too! It’s quite the crew. I love it.
Why yes, those ARE matching t-shirt.
We wasted no time exploring the beach, collecting shells and snacking throughout the day (OK, maybe that was just me).
With 5 kids and loads to do, lunch was a quick, grab-what-you-can deal. I grabbed a cheeseburger. Hey, it’s vacation! Plus, I added spinach so that made it healthy.
We spent the afternoon golfcarting around (spell check tells me that isn’t a word, but I’m choosing to ignore it) and playing in the ocean.
It really is pristine and beautiful and I love that there are no motorized vehicles on the island.
Last night we snacked on salsa and Hilary’s awesome guacamole.
Between that and the margaritas…
I almost didn’t have room for the main event. Almost.
I’ve already managed to mess up Hailey’s schedule, and for the first time ever, she forfeited her morning nap, thus the late post. I guess she’s too busy playing with her cousins…

and trying to keep up!
Wish me luck because I have a feeling, we’ll be flying by the seat of our pants for the remainder of vacation! I’m learning to be OK with that 
It is vacation, after all.
Now, off to enjoy the island, but stop back tomorrow for MUNCHKIN MEALS!

I do that all the time, too! It also works for ice cream… just add chopped walnuts and BAM- healthy 😉

Freakishly small world alert – Hilary is my neighbor 🙂 I see her and her kiddos at the pool all the time, and the older 2 do swim team with my niece and nephew.
