Change. It’s inevitable. Often times you don’t even see it coming until it’s here. Sounds like the start of a deep post, no?
Fried egg on half a whole wheat bagel with veggie cream cheese.
Like breakfast. OK, so not-so-deep thoughts. Breakfast may look typical, but little did I know that David pulled a switch up on me.
It’s actually a duck egg from our friend’s farm. Those sneaky guys! It looked the same and actually tasted the same as a chicken egg, too. Who knew?!
Yesterday was pretty drizzly out. It’s been raining for two days straight.
Perfect opportunity for soup. Opportunity missed.
Mixed organic baby greens, green pepper, red onion, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, chickpeas, cucumber, wild and brown rice, hummus and Balsamic vinaigrette.
The rainy afternoon around the house led to snack time.
I’m a Chobani fan, but sometimes I switch things up with Fage 2%. Their cherry is really quite amazing. If only I knew how to pronounce it. Anyone else call it fage, like sage? Just me?
No switch up, here. A few handfuls of Love Grown to last me through our play date until dinner.
The rain finally subsided, so David and I skipped the beer to switch things up with a pinot noir on the back porch.
The Naked Grape pinot tasted pretty smooth to me.
Steamed cod with garlic sauce, roasted broccoli, green beans and a wild rice medley with grape tomatoes, zucchini and onion.
We enjoyed dinner while discussing the upcoming election and car seats. Those go together, right? Gosh we’re old.
I have to accept the fact that my baby isn’t a baby anymore. She’s 29 3/8th inches long and her seat is good up to 30 inches. Guess I’m cutting it close.
If you’re in the same boat in needing a new car seat, Diapers.com has convertible car seats on sale for 25% off this week!
And thanks for hosting WIAW, Jenn! And don’t forget to link up with MUNCHKIN MEALS tomorrow 🙂
Switched anything up recently?
Which convertible car seat did you choose?

I had a laugh about the Fage! I have always eaten Chobani and just randomly tried Fage a couple weeks ago and haven’t eaten Chobani since. I’m currently obsessed with the Strawberry flavor, yum. Side note- it tells you how to pronounce the name on the cup! haha 🙂
Brittany says
Is it sad that I’ve seen the pronunciation on the cup and I’m still not sure how to say it? haha!
Sarah says
“Fa” like doh-ray-me-FA-so-lah-ti-doh
“Yay” like YAY! 25% off car seats!
…at least I think that’s how it’s pronounced.

The cherry Fage is my favorite! So sweet…yet tart. Mmm! DUCK EGG? Wow!
Megan says
We got the Britax Marathon. We really like it. It had great reviews and is supposed to be really safe. I found it on sale!
Morgan says
We got 2 seats…one for each car. Consumer Reports gave the Evenflo Triumph its highest safety rating so that’s the one that’s in my car. It’s awesome, so comfy for her.
My hubby has a smaller sports car and the Evenflo didn’t fit in his car. So we got a Britax Roundabout for him. It’s smaller and only goes up to 55 pounds (instead of 65 for the Evenflo) but she’s rarely in his car, so it works for us.
Molly @ Duchess of Fork says
Love Fage, maybe even more than Chobani. I pronounce it like you but I believe it’s supposed to be pronounced fy-ay. We have the Britax Boulevard and it’s great. One of the safest on the market!
Erica says
Ahhh I love the thought of sitting on the porch with wine, good conversations and an adorable little pumpkin 🙂
Heather @ What Does She Do All Day? says
I prefer whatever yogurt is on sale! This week it was Dannon Oikos. I’m about to crack one open right now! We got the Britax Marathon. It rear faces until 40 lbs so we knew we’d have no problem keeping Cupcake rear facing past the age of 2.
Madeline @ Food Fitness and Family says
Which convertible are you getting? We have the Britax Boulevard and LOVE it. We call it Emmalyne’s Cadillac haha.
I think it’s Fa-Yay for the Fage …
Brittany says
I’m reading into everyone’s suggestions, but I think I’m leaning towards the Boulevard. I’m also considering buying one for myself. They sure look comfy- haha!
Glad to hear Emmie is a fan!
Jana says
Britax are seriously the best! LOVE LOVE LOVE all 4 that we have had. We have an almost 1 year old and recently purchased this seat & it rocks!!

This website usually has the lowest prices & free shipping! Plus look at the print…how cute is that!!??
Good luck with your hunt :o)
Hanna says
I also pronounce Fage like sage. I just recently started pronouncing quinoa correctly : ) We choose the Britax Roundabout for our daughter. She loves it! I love it’s safety standards and that it sits her up higher than most other convertiable carseats. It allows her to see out of the windows. Also, it’s easier for her to fall asleep comfortably in if we’re on road trips.
Cheree says
We went with the Recarro ProRide Convertible Carseat and this is why: http://chereemoore.blogspot.com/2012/07/recaro-racecar-inspired-convertible-car.html (my husband, an engineer, did a lot of research before we made our purchase).
We really wanted the Diono Radian, but it wouldn’t fit in our Subaru 🙁
Good luck with finding your next carseat!
Lauren B. says
Haven’t used it yet, obviously, but we chose the Britax Boulevard- which Britax seems to be popular around here!
Have a great day!
Hallie@ChasingHallie says
We have the Beitax Boulevard also. M really likes it and we got a food deal in Diapers.com
Heather @ Side Of Sneakers says
We have 2 of the first years (true fit I think) that we love. We’ve been using them even since he was a newborn.
Maria says
Shhh. I like Fage Greek yogurt more than any other brands. It’s just so much thicker and there’s never any gooey water floating on top and all around amazing. My favorite flavor is cherry as well. I don’t even try to pronounce it…
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
I LOVE Fage! I love chobani, too, but I actually prefer Fage sometimes. I always wonder why people on blogs never picture Fage. Must be because Chobani is so awesome at social media and sharing their products.

We use the Britax Boulevard CS 70 Convertible Carseat in my car and I love it! It rec’d great Consumer Report reviews, it is super comfy looking and the straps are easily adjustable. My mom has the Safety 1st® Complete Air™ 65 Convertible in her car, which also rec’d great Consumer Report reviews. She purchased this carseat b/c she has Addy from time to time, but I didn’t want her spending a fortune on a carseat that Addy will only use a few times a month, if that! I like Britax a little better because it has more pading and like I said before, the straps are easier to adjust. Something about the Safety 1st straps get me everytime…they just aren’t as smooth when loosening & tightening. Could I get use to it if it was in my car, probably, but we also have family in NY that we go visit a few times a year and I would like Addy to be as comfy as possible on a 10+ hour car ride!
Erika says
I have an Eddie Bauer carseat. My husband has the Britax Marathon. My mom has a Graco one. Out of the three I like the Britax the best overall and the Graco the least.
Jen@HealthyFoodandFamily says
I’m probably the only blogger who isn’t a fan of Chobani, give me Fage or Oikos any day!
jodie says
Fage (fa-yay) is by far the best yogurt!
Chantal says
Ugh I need a new car seat too… my baby is 28″, but growing quick!
Shanna, like Banana says
I literally just bought the Britax Marathon 70G (in waverly) like 1 hour ago. I solicited a bunch of opinions and I would say 3/4ths were for the Marathon all from personal experience. I hope I feel the same way!
Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy says
She’s so cute! I’m going to start a new job as a nanny for a 1 year old next week, so I have a feeling I will be reading your blog a lot for activity and food ideas!

We have recaro seats for our kiddos (after the baby seat stage). As cheree said, my hubby is an engineer and researched the heck out of it. Recaro makes seats for race cars – think they can make a safe baby seat? Our older daughter loves her seat. In the end, there are many very safe and popular choices out there. All the ones mentioned on here I have heard great things about.
