Good Monday morning! How was your weekend? Ours was fairly relaxed which was really nice, especially after I spent last night filling out our calendar for the coming months with commitments and activities. A lot to look forward to, but I’ll savor this downtime when we get it for sure!
I’ve been experimenting with the refurbished Dyson AirWrap David got me for Christmas. It’s been a big learning curve, but I’m really starting to get more comfortable using it and liking it. I wouldn’t say it dries faster than my Revlon (yet), but it definitely adds for shine and VOLUME. The volume sticks around for a couple days, too, like a salon blow out.
On Friday the girls challenged me to a pizza dough bake off. I stuck to my old faithful, bread machine pizza dough, and they made the recipe out of Hailey’s new cookbook. We broke it into winning categories. The girls took the prize for fully dough, and the bread machine won for the thinner crust category. Kind of the equivalent to everyone gets a trophy I guess 😆
On Saturday both girls had their first basketball games. Of course they were at the same time and across town from each other so we had to divide and conquer. David helps coach Kaitlyn so he went with her while I took Hailey.
It was SO much fun to watch. The kids at these ages are all just learning the game, so there are some super cute moments like some girls running down the court with the ball wrapped in their arms. I was impressed at how well Hailey could dribble down the court and think once we work more on shooting that she’ll be a pretty great little basketball player. Most importantly though, she had a blast and made a new friend.
I wasn’t at Kaitlyn’s game but apparently she wasn’t thrilled with being shut out. I think they lost 20-somthing to zero? Ah well, a good learning experience nonetheless 😉
Saturday afternoon filled up with grocery shopping and a workout. The girls turned in tokens and spent a couple hours bumming on the couch, which I was happy about considering I just realized Hailey has over 9 hours of screen time tokens saved up.
It’s so funny how I have to encourage her to spend (tokens and money because she’s such a saver) while simultaneously trying to teach Kaitlyn not to let her tokens and cash burn a hole right through her pocket.
Saturday evening we hung out with friends. The kids ran wild and created gymnastics routines to show off while the adults chatted it up. I brought one of my favorites, layered Greek dip (if you haven’t tried this easy crowd-pleaser, I hope you will; it’s so good).
On Sunday the girls are I did some shopping for David’s upcoming birthday. David and I knocked out leg day and ran Finley around a ton before the rain moved in. By mid afternoon we were all showered and cozy. The girls and I drank tea and read another chapter of The Half-Blood Prince. Afterwards they watched Clifford the Big Red Dog (and loved it). We all tucked into bed early so we’d be ready to cheer on the Georgia bulldogs tonight!!
Plans for today include math, typing, history, first language lessons, piano, the chiropractor, Tae Kwon Do, making David’s famous chili, working on a review post for the Lumen, working on the turmeric rice recipe post, and gearing up for the big game. Saban always has something up his sleeve, but maybe this will be Kirby’s year… GO DAWGS! 🙂
Have a wonderful day!

Sounds like a lovely weekend! Would you mind telling me what you are using for typing? I know you said it on Instagram but I failed to write it down. Thank you!

Your hair looks great! I think you have this Dyson thing figured out.
I think it is so special–your pizza night traditions. The girls will tell their girls (or boys) one day about this family tradition 🙂
