Mornin’! Can you believe it’s July? I mean, I know we just celebrated America’s independence (and thank you from the bottom of my heart to all our military and military families…), but today it just hit me… it’s JULY. In less than 2 months we’ll be beginning the happiest time of the year. What, you ask? Well, only COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON! To be more accurate, The University of Georgia Bulldogs’ football season 😀
But I digress… for now, we are still the the middle of summer and I am loving it. Especially on mornings like this one, where is is pleasant to eat breakfast on the back deck with the bug.
I was happy I remembered to pick up bananas at the grocery store, and from the smile the banana formed, I figured it was pretty happy too.
After toasting a whole wheat sandwich thin, I loaded it up with some PB&Co and the friendly banana.
I love slathering on the PB when the bread is fresh from the toaster. It makes it melty, creamy and delicious… and I don’t mind that it gets all over my fingers 🙂
Now… to the point of today’s title. I am beside myself with excitement (not that I truly understand what that phrase means…but…) because tomorrow I get to go see Dr. Oz! He is coming here, to little ol Mooresville, NC to do a talk about healthy living and I am psyched!!
Now, here’s where I need your help. After his talk, he is taking Q&A. True, I’ll be there with 399 other eager audience members, but I want to try my hardest to ask him a question. Buuuuut I need a good question to ask, and I’m drawing a blank!
Do you love Dr. Oz as much as I do?
If you could ask him one question, what would it be?! (And do you mind if I steal it? ;))
**************************************************
I guess not everyone is as big of a fan of Dr. Oz as I am… But it’s ok, I forgive you. 😉
For my midmorning snack I munched on some cherry toms…
Then Hubbs and I decided to play tennis. In the middle of the day. When it’s 95 degrees out. Whew… It whipped me!
Cute, right?? Haha, not so much. I also learned that 6 baby tomatoes are NOT enough fuel for 1.5 hours of tennis. Who knew?! After riding our bikes back home, I was starving. But luckily J.del came to my rescue! I heart Jasons Deli.
I destroyed that salad bar and savored every delicious bite. And for some reason I was in the mood for their reduced fat French dressing-brilliant! I also snacked on their delicious organic flatbread crackers and humus. Mmm! And what J.del experience is complete without a little ice-cream? Those cheap little cones rock my world!
Now I just finished my afternoon snack of my beloved Chobani: pom flavor!
Right about now I am ready for a nap, but I’ll be headed to CPR class instead… Guess a saved life is a bit more important than a skipped nap 😉
****************************************************
I should have been more prepared for my CPR class… Not with studying, but with food! I brought almonds with me (thank goodness!) and ate nearly half the container.
Luckily the class didn’t last until 10 like it was supposed to. After passing with flying colors 😉 I got home around 9… Starving. I didn’t even have time to get out the fun fancy camera, so I used the iPhone… And I still haven’t made it out of the kitchen, so I’m actually blogging from it too… While I ate
And this
Annnd a few bites of Hubbs’ dinner,…
It may look a little gross, but it’s a frozen chicken tortilla casserole that tastes delicious!!
Thank you all so much for your comments and oz question suggestions… I hope I can sleep tonight (I’m sooooo pumped!) sweet dreams all! Off to watch dvr’d Glee 😉

I love Dr. Oz!! I don’t even know what I would ask him…I’m going to be thinking about this all day now!
Katie @ peacebeme says
Hi Brittany, new reader here! I LOVE DR. OZ! I like him because he seems like he sticks to moderation in most all things. As a science-person, I hate when newspapers put out some new study like “cocunut oil makes you lose weight!” that has only been backed by one small study group. Dr. Oz doesn’t seem like he buys into that stuff – so I would ask him what it takes to make him believe in some new research (like how does he know a good study was done, etc). Does that make sense? Haha, that’s just what I would do. 🙂

I can’t DISLIKE the Bulldogs because Lily is a bulldog. But, GO ILLINI :)!!!
I like Dr. Oz but I don’t think he’s quite as smart as he’d like to think 😉 He is very to-the-point and easy to understand, though!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
I don’t know if I love Dr. Oz that much, but I DO love melty PB on toast like you 🙂

I haven’t watched too many of the Dr. Oz shows, but it would still be cool to go. Have fun! I’ve never seen the cinnamon raisin peanut butter you photographed with the banana, but it sounds delicious! Where do you find it?

Why oh why can’t we get nut butters like that in the UK!! Seriously, I love nut butters but the rest of my country does not seem to agree and we just do not have the variety that you guys have. Every time I see flavoured nut butters on the US sites I drool!! I agree that warm and melty is best, whether that be on toast, hot oats or just heated up in the microwave and drizzled on everything and anything!
