It’s Wednesday! Let’s have a little this or that fun, shall we?
Breakfast: Sweet or savory?
I am usually savory person. Half a whole wheat bagel with chive and onion cream cheese and an egg has been hitting the spot lately. However, if I can’t decide, I do both!
Like I did yesterday. Fueling before a long run is crucial. So what if my long run is just over 2 miles?!
Running: alone or with a buddy?
Since I’m terrified to run with another person because I just know I’ll slow them wayyy down, I prefer the furry running buddy variety.
Nails: bold or subtle?
I’ve tried the light colors, but they just don’t look right with me. With the fall temps this week, I opted for a fall-ish bold, or as David calls it, the goth look. OPI’s I’m Not Really a Waitress.
Lunches: soup or salad?
Isn’t this why God created You-Pick-Two? Yes, I think so.
Personalized License Plates: yay or nay?
I snapped this one yesterday to send to my Dad. He’s the true Greek god. I almost had to steal this or report the driver for fraud.
***Fun Fact*** When I first started driving I had a custom license plate. My black mustang had a tag that read Angel9. Embarrassing to admit now? Yes, yes it is. But back then I thought it was the coolest.
So, I’m a converted NAY.
Tantrums: let them happen or intervene?
Ah, this epic meltdown happened yesterday at Old Navy. What is it about that place? I guess Hailey wasn’t in the mood for new clothes and desperately wanted her paci (which isn’t allowed outside of the car or crib). She screamed her head off. I got to her level, told her I was sorry she was upset but we don’t use pacis and offered for her to color. It worked like a charm!
Ha. Kidding.
She continued to scream, so I let her and snapped a picture. I walked around the corner and when I was out of site she calmed down.
Tantrums happen. They really don’t bother me much. I pretty much just let them happen. If it gets out of control, I’ll remove her from the situation.
Potatoes: Regular or Sweet?
Though I love roasted sweet potato rounds or fries, I admit, I like regular potatoes more. This odd concoction was a gem of a dinner last night!
Late husbands: let them eat alone?
When David worked late, I made him a simple dinner and made myself a little snack. Can you really make someone else a grilled cheese and not have one yourself? If so, you’re a stronger person than I.
Pick a this or that and share your answer with me!

Nails: bold or subtle?
I usually go with bold, or as my sister calls it – emo, but this last time around I went with a light grayish blue and loved it! It really just depends on my mood I guess. 🙂

Toes – light or dark? Depends on the day for me
Hubby’s and dinner – sorry babe, if you’re late you eat alone. I will sit with you but not waiting or eating more.
Tantrums – let them happen or they win.
Custom plates? – I love reading them and figuring them out but never can come up with one I an actually willing to drive around with
Sweet or regular – love them both!!!
Sweet or savory – both, but mostly I like savory
Salad or soup – salad for lunch , soup for dinner
Karen says
Completely agree, salad and soup.
Tantrums, let them happen, ignore and they are over much faster.
Great post, enjoyed seeing the comparisons:)
Sherry says
Loved your first “just kidding” answer to the tantrum.
Toes-French in summer, darker in Fall
Hubby’s late–past 8 he finds whatever he wants to eat
Sweet or regular-Prefer regular, but will eat sweet
Sweet or savory-lean towards the savory but that banana and peanut butter with honey sure looks good today
Soup or salad–love them both together!
Karen says
So funny about the tantrum because I totally do the same thing with Keely.
Toes – dark, with light skin like I have, I feel dark is better on me.
Sweet or Savory – a little bit of both if possible
Soup or Salad – totally love both together (hello, Panera)
Suzanne says
Love this post! I am always torn bw 2 options so this fits me. Love the names of nail polishes – we are picking paint and it is similar – what a great job to name all that stuff! I put a dark one on recently and felt the same – it was quite goth – but pretty too.
The best license plate we have seen was mrbdxmpl (took us a minute – mr bad example) . I love those things!
Love your take on the tantrum too – my guys are older now and I look back and just wish I had done one of the 2 things you mention (get on their level etc…or be entertained and take a photo! You’re a good mommy!
Kate @ Indulgent Wellness says
I struggle with Sweet or Savory whenever we go out for breakfast. I always solve the problem by ordering something savory for myself and taking a bite of my Hailey’s inevitable pankcakes or waffles!
Marjorie says
Toes dark or light: Dark for me too, even though I am fair-skinned. I am loving Piggy Polish brand Right to Bare Feet color for fall.
Tantrums – My little buddy is 13 months, and these ugly tantrums are starting. I find myself panicking a little, not quite sure what to do. If in public, I try to intervene. If unsuccessful, we flee. At home, my husband and I have started singing Rolling Stones “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” when a tantrum happens. My kid is probably doomed to hate that song for eternity. 🙂
katie says
I love savory/salty.
Nails: bold (I don’t like sparkle in my nail polish)
tantrums: depends on the day/situation.
Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome says
Oh we had one of those tantrums yesterday and after leaving him alone screaming for a few minutes, The ABC’s worked like a charm. He loves to sing those darn ABC’s!
Kimberly @ Healthy Strides says
I tend to go sweet for breakfast – usually oats made with banana – but only out of habit. I love, love, love a good diner breakfast of eggs and potatoes.
As far as tantrums, I’m to the point where I find them funny. You want to scream because I gave you the granola bar you asked for? Go ahead! I’m going to drink my coffee. In public is different, of course, but I would have tried the same things you did.
Amanda says
HA! You got me for a minute with the tantrum… I re-read and thought “wow, that seems easy enough”…then I read the next line. HA 🙂 I’m sure my days of public tantrums are just around the corner-makes my heart race, but I would do the same as you (I hope!).
Late husband dinner: definitely join in on eating again-usually a bowl of cereal for me! 🙂
License plates: I say no, not for me anyways. Also I hate the ones I can’t figure out or don’t seem to make sense(my hubby can always figure them out though!)…so maybe it’s just me? 😉
Amy @ Long Drive Journey says
Breakfast – almost always savory.
Nails – subtle for hands, bold for toes
I like the way you handled the tantrum. It’s a lot better, I think, when you don’t freak out in ADDITION to the kid freaking out. Of course this is all observation, and maybe my opinion will change when I have one of my own!
John J. Stathas says
That’s for locating that “fraud”. Will you be sending me the license plate?!
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
loved this post. run w/ a buddy! Well, just David or Ryder. 🙂
your old license plate story cracked me up.
Maria says
Fun! I want to play!
Breakfast – savory (eggs + bacon!)
Running – alone, I can’t talk when I run, so what’s the point of a buddy? And I’m painfully slow.
Nails – bold! I love deep plums and vibrant reds on my toes
Lunch – Both!
Tantrums – not thinking about for a few more years
Potatoes – regular, but TJ’s sweet potato fries are awesome!
Late Husbands – if someone is eating, so I am.
Oops, was supposed to just pick one.
Chantal says
I like running alone, and sometimes without the dog too, because he’s too fast for me lol
Emily S says
Breakfast – savory. at home it’s usually PB on toast – when we go out to eat I have to do eggs, bacon, toast, the works!
Running – um, what’s that 🙂
Nails – BOLD! And I always go with opaque when the pros do it, b/c it’s harder for me to get it flawless at home
Lunch – soup; not a salad fan!
Tantrums – make a beeline for the door!
License Plates — nah!
Late Husbands – I have to eat before him. I am a nursing mama who will starve otherwise. If I know beforehand it will be a late night, I make something that’s more conducive to heating up!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Fun! 🙂
Sweet or savory – sweet
Soup or salad – both
Bold or light nail polish – bold
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
Breakfast – sweet
Running – it varies. When my husband used to run with me, I enjoyed that. But other than him, probably alone!
Lunch – I agree … both!
Tantrums – oy vey, I’m not ready to think about this yet! Addie is only 5 months, so fortunately I have some time!
Late Husbands – if he’s going to be really late, I eat before him and then heat up leftovers for him. 🙂
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
Salad > soup. I like sweet in the morning but savory the rest of the day!
Juli @1000lovelythings says
Breakfast: Sweet
Running: alone
Lunches: salad
Potatoes: both 🙂
Late husbands: depends on how late he comes. Usually I wait for him but if it gets too late I will eat and won’t snack again when he comes home.
Courtney @ Don't Blink. Just Run. says
I’m typically a savory person for breakfast, but will lean either way really. I always run alone because I’m slow, and don’t have any friends who run. Lunch: salad. Potato: regular, but I’ve grown fond of sweet lately.
Erin G. @ Treats and Sneaks says
I most definitely prefer the furry running buddies as well!
Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves says
Breakfast: Sweet! Every day. I save the savory breakfast items for lunches and dinner 🙂
Nails: Subtle. I like pretty neutral pinks and tans that may have some luminescence to them.
Potatoes: Sweet. Love sweet potato fries especially.
