It’s after lunch before my first post of the day? Eeks. Sorry bloggies! But let’s be honest… it would be a little conceited of me to assume y’all are mad at my delayed post… it’s not like you check in with me first thing every morning and hang on to my every word, right? Oh, you do? How wonderful! 😉
Anyways, as you saw yesterday, Mom & Grandma Betty came to visit and stayed the night. And when my family is around, I really like to soak it up. So sorry for the delay… but without further adieu… BREAKFAST!
I love Quaker Oat Squares, so I was naturally drawn to these when I visited Trader Joe’s the other day. Although I haven’t compared boxes side by side, these look very similar and have a great (short & simple) ingredient list.
Topped with fresh blueberries. (I think my picture is prettier than the one on the box…)
Uh-oh… spotted!
And in for the sniff…
Haha… I love that pup. FYI- she doesn’t get any human food, except peanut butter. And she lovessss peanut butter!
I got to visit with Mom & Grandma all morning, including a tour around the neighborhood, before hitting up Fusion Bowl for lunch on their way back out of town. The restaurant was freezing, making it the perfect environment for my favorite, hot & sour soup!
Then I ordered what I always do… shrimp and broccoli with brown rice. It’s amazing. I always tell myself that I’ll be adventurous and choose something new, but I always end up ordering the same thing. Do you do that?

So lately I’ve been feeling kind of slack in the creativity department. I swear I used to be witty… what happened?
I’m debating whether or not I should take a short blog-breather until my creative juices start flowing again. Has this ever happened to you? How do you get your mojo back? Mr. Powers?
HELP!

Thanks for your encouraging words 🙂
I have an inkling why my creative skills may be struggling today… after lunch I sat down to do some work, and that’s when I noticed my dull headache… to be quickly followed by a sore throat. That’s why I feel so BLAH.
So I’ve been working all afternoon sipping on these:
Yes between Chinese for lunch and the only canned soup I could find in the pantry, I’m going to be one giant bloated ball of water retention later.
C’est la vie.
I’m hoping some good rest and more Throat Coat (which is amazing by the way) will nip this thing in the bud. I have to catch up on my Couch to 5k tomorrow and have plans with the girls tomorrow night… c’mon body, you never get sick! Suck it up.
At least I have this presh pup to snuggle with:
Know any quick-recovery remedies?
Back to the couch… 🙁

Good news= I got a lot of work done 🙂
Bad news= still not back to feelin’ 100%
Oh well… here’s a quick dinner, all compliments of Trader Joes! (Geesh, I wish we had one of these closer!)
Spinach & Romaine with tomato & TJ’s balsamic. C’mon spinach, get to healing my throat 😉

Nothing like a tasty, quick and hearty dinner when you aren’t up to spending a long time in the kitchen!
Now off to bed early, because ‘Early to bed, early to rise, makes a WOman healthy, wealthy & wise’
I got the wise thing down ;), but I’d love of that health & wealth… BRING IT!
Night 🙂

I missed you! Just focus not thinking about what to post, that’s when you really take it all in and feel inspired. Magazines are good mojo starters too.

I get the same things at any restaurant — I like to try new things, but if the food isn’t awesome then I get really bummed that I didn’t choose my stand-by meal.
Keep blogging, the creative juices will come back.

It happens to everyone, don’t worry. When that happens to mean, I stop blogging and cooking 🙂
and I start again after a week with more energy!

I meant ‘When that happens to me’, haha

Looks like a delicious day of food!! I hope you are feeling better love! I will hopefully get to stay connected to your blog while in chicago but check in with me to make sure I’m not eating too much pizza! I went a little crazy on some oreos earlier and really wish you were here for a little self control! Love you and miss you!
