I still remember about a year after a started blogging when I was sent some almonds to try out FOR FREE. I think I did a happy dance around the kitchen because I thought it was just so cool. Today I still get that same little thrill when products show up at my doorstep, though not everything makes it onto the blog. (I do share deliveries on snapchat though, if you’re curious!)
I thought it could be fun to give a quick peek into some of the samples I’ve received lately with quick thoughts on each. None of these items are paid reviews and I am not obligated to talk about them; there are some affiliate links included. Ok, here we go!
Stitch Fix for Men
This Stitch Fix delivery was not a freebie, but my curiosity got the best of me so without telling David I created an account, filled out his style profile and scheduled a fix.
I was way more excited when it showed up than he was, but being the good sport he is, he tried on the goods. Though a few of the shirts were misses, a pair of jeans was unlike anything he would ever try on elsewhere and they proved to be a keeper.
It is SO hard to get this guy to go shopping so I was thrilled with his new pair of jeans (and secretly he liked it too whether he wants to admit it or not). If you are still looking for a present for a guy in your life, maybe consider a Stitch Fix gift card!
Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company
This women owned, family run company in Florida was started by a mom wanting to provide healthy juices for her kids. The girls and I loved working our way through this delivery because everything tasted so fresh and just, well, real. You can clearly see on the front what is in the bottle and the simplicity of orange juice just containing orange juice was incredibly refreshing. And delicious! Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company juices are available now at Publix if you want to check them out.
Molly’s Suds
This natural laundry detergent doesn’t contain a long list of chemicals that are found in other brands and leaves a smaller carbon footprint as well. As someone always looking to go a little greener when possible, I was interested in trying Molly’s Suds out. I feel the best way to say I liked it is to share that it seemed to do just as well with my clothes as other detergents and if it’s a more natural option than I think that’s wonderful! I’ll be checking it out for home use in the future.
ThermoWorks Thermapen
I’ve had a cheapo meat thermometer from Target for a few years and it worked just fine I figured, so I was interested to see how it would compare to the ThermoWorks Thermapen that was sent to me.
I was honestly surprised at how much I loved it! I love that the “pointy side” stays tucked in until you are ready to use it and it automatically turns on when you unfold it. It has a super accurate reading (that takes only 2 seconds to register), is waterproof, has an auto-rotating display and a 3000 hour battery life. It comes in a variety of colors too.
If you have a cook in the family, this would make a really great gift, as it’s definitely the best of the best and every cook knows that cooking by temperature instead of time makes ALL the difference in the world. The entire ThermoWorks line is having a deal right now too! Use the code SAVEMORE16 before December 5 and save 10% off $50 or more or 15% off $125 or more.
Rewined Candles
Made in my favorite city of Charleston, SC, these Rewined Candles that are poured into recycled wine bottles have ruined me. It was not sent to me, but I got suckered in to trying it at our local Sweet Grass boutique after falling head over heels for the Wine Under the Tree scent.
You guys know I love my candles (I have friends that text me when Bath and Body Works’ 3 wicks go on sale), and I think even my beloved Capri Blue candle may have to step aside because these are my new favorites. The scent is subtle but heavenly. Each candle has 80 (EIGHTY) hours of burn time and it’s premium soy wax. Dear Santa, I’ll take the pinot noir please!
Panasonic’s WINGS Wireless Headphones
Having heard great reviews, I was excited to receive these in the mail. The WINGS headphones are quick charging, waterproof, and Bluetooth enabled, perfect for athletes. I really loved their functionality but I couldn’t quite seem to get the earpieces to fit my ears. They worked beautifully on David though! I really loved the wireless concept and think these would be a great gift for any runner.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
Random deliveries may be my favorite and though I giggled when these toiletries showed up on my doorstep, I really appreciated the practicality of it all. I regularly keep disposable razors on hand and these BIC Soleil Shine razors hands down beat out my Target brand. I have yet to try the brow building fiber set, though it looks intriguing. However, I need to tell you about this Batiste Dry Shampoo!
I’m not an avid dry shampoo user, but still was sincerely pleased with how it soaked up grease with no residue and left my hair smelling fresh and clean, not overly scented. It would make a pretty great stocking stuffer!
SnackNation
SnackNation sent me a free delivery and offered for me to give you guys each a FREE one time SnackNation delivery too, so if you want to try it out for yourself, just click here!
I was really impressed by the variety and quality of the snacks and the girls have loved picking a new one to try each day.
And that’s the latest run down!
Have you guys tried any new products lately that are great (or terrible?)
What do you think of product review rundowns like this? Fun? Or no?
Lynn Thow says
Good Morning!!
How fun it is to get a surprise delivery! I tried a sample of Natalie’s juice yesterday at the grand opening at Publix yesterday. It is delicious. I bought the orange juice.
Have a great day!!

Oh love that you liked it too! The strawberry lemonade is pretty amazing as well (go figure ;))
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
I love hearing what other people are trying! And I personally LOVE getting packages. I might have to sign up for that snack box because it sounds perfect!
Brittany Dixon says
They had more packed in to it than I would have thought! We’re still eating our way through it (typing this as the girls are chowing down on the pirate booty :))

This sort of post is more tolerable than the sponsored posts that seem inauthentic. It’s interesting to hear how profitable blogging is. I’m interested in trying that dry shampoo!
Jerrica says
I am obsessed with rewined candles! I even gave them as Christmas gifts last year because they are just the perfect candle. The RosΓ© is to die for!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh I don’t think I’m smelled that one yet! Good for winter or better for summer?
Jerrica says
Hmm good question! I personally only burn it in fall/winter. It isn’t particularly light and fruity but it isn’t deep and wintry either. I stick with coconutty scents in summer. i haven’t smelled one that is really summery though-have you??! Our west elm carries them but it is always a limited selection so I don’t get to branch out often!

I do like the product rundown posts – it would also be interesting to hear/read about things that you tried and didn’t like.
Brittany Dixon says
I usually leave things I don’t like off the blog, but I totally see how that could be helpful! I think that’s great feedback and will try to do more of that. Thanks!
Irina says
I like this Review Rundown. It packs a lot into one post, so you don’t have to devote a post to each single product. I’m also gonna have to get some Rewined candles. Is it too early in the day for wine?
Brittany Dixon says
Never to early!! π
Irina says
I agree! Brittany, what did you dislike and why?
Brittany Dixon says
I’ve disliked several protein bars I’ve been sent, but since I’m not much of a protein bar kind of girl in general, I didn’t want to bad mouth a bar when they really aren’t my thing. I’ve been sent samples of skin care products that I felt didn’t do anything for me and some supplements that I ended up not liking the ingredient list or felt they didn’t have research to back their claims. Anyway, in most cases, I just follow my mom’s advice of if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all, though I do see how it could be valuable to hear about the things I was not wild about as well. Something for me to keep in mind for sure!
Maria says
I just secretly ordered Brandon a Stitch Fix box and I think I’m way more excited about than he’s going to be (much like David). The boy needs clothes, so what else can I do?!
Why does this not excite them?
Brittany Dixon says
Dare I say that David at least gave me a few brownie points for being thoughtful? Plus he liked the jeans! Our guys just need to admit we know what’s good for them π
