Happy Friday, friends! We made it to the weekend! ::throws confetti into the air:: Let’s get right to the good stuff…
I’m loving… growing my own green onions in water! I sliced these up the other day as part of a meal, but left the ends bound together. Simply place them in water and watch them grow back. Free green onions!
I’m NOT loving… Harris Teeter’s Meal Deals. Allow me to be Chandler Bing as I say, “Could this BE any unhealthier?!”
I’m loving… my new Bamboo Water Bottle! The nice folks over at The Bamboo Water Co (fitting name, wouldn’t you agree?) asked if I’d be interested in trying out their water bottle. I’ve been meaning to hop on the glass water bottle trend for a while now, so I was stoked!
Inside is dishwasher-safe glass, which is being deemed as safer than drinking out of plastic, which can leach chemicals into your drinking water. It’s a little heavy to use on a walk, but for home and office use, it’s excellent.
I loved that it kept my water nice and cold, and that it will also keep liquids nice and hot, if you prefer! Plus, I won’t lie, I felt cool and trendy carrying it around, which is difficult to feel while sporting a diaper bag. The lady at Starbucks actually commented that she really liked my water bottle. How often to you get compliments on your water bottle?!
I’m not loving… that I actually wore this headband and “hairstyle” out to run errands. For the love, girl, pull yourself together before you go out in public. I won’t make any more chicken friends looking like that!
I’m loving… that I got back at it yesterday and knocked out 4.2 miles. I also put the treadmill up to 7mph for a whole minute. WINNING (said in the creepy way that Courtney on the Bachelorette says it).
I’m NOT loving… that I’ve discovered another weird fact about myself. When I wog, I get sweaty elbows. I mean, what the heck is that? The actually drip sweat. Am I alone in this?!
I’m LOVING… that you still have 2 more days to enter to win LOTS OF LOVE! Love Grown Granola, that is. Check it.
Loving or not loving anything fun lately?!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
So funny…my roommate stuck the ends of her green onions in a glass of water, and I came into the kitchen and was SO perplexed. I forgot to ask her about it until just this moment…but now I know what she was doing!!!
Also, I really need to try out that Bamboo Bottle. They mailed me one, too (yippee!) but it came right before I moved and I’m not sure which box it is in…
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
PS. I like that you tagged this post “sweaty elbows.”
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
you are NOT alone in the sweaty elbows. whenever I run outside with long sleeves on, I always notice gross sweat in my elbows. peewwww.
Lindsay @ The Lean Green Bean says

Nicole says

Kelly says
You should ask them to do a give away for that bottle, I want one!! Great trick about the onion..I need to try it 🙂 I’m loving that is the weekend and I get to see an old friend for lunch today!!
Elizabeth says
I get sweaty elbows all the time, drip and all
Dana says
So good to know there are other people with sweaty elbows!!
Kendall @ On An Inhale says
omg i get sweaty elbows too!! in everyday life I really don’t sweat much! I think I sweat there the most when I run! This fall I wore a grey long sleeve shirt and I had HUGE wet marks there and obviously ran into someone i knew. I’m glad im not alone!!
Meredith says
Not alone with the elbow sweat!!!
Sarah says
Sweaty elbows unite! It’s weird, but I’m guessing it’s because you run with your arms bent and that generates more moisture. At least it’s less embarrassing than the underwear sweat lines I got while I was training for a half marathon. Gross.
Brittney says
I tried the green onion thing a while back and I warn you that the water they were in got really gross and smelly. I’m not sure if you’re suppose to change it out or what, but I gave up and threw them out after a while.
That meal deal kind of cracks me up. Those don’t seem like items you would eat together as a meal at all to me. Tortilla chips and pizza? Weird!
christina says
Sweaty elbows, haha!! You still look adorable w/ messy hair…it’s not even that messy!! I am super excited about growing green onions in water bc I have some in my fridge right now! woop!! thanks girlfriend!
Natalie @ Living Green Chicago says
I love that you go out in public with that headband and hairstyle!! Because I do it too and always wonder if I’m the only one 🙂 Coming from a WI and moving to Chicago has made my “small town” errand running habits feel especially embarrassing… but not enough to stop, hehe
Katie @ Pop Culture Cuisine says
ok I thought I was just an uber sweaty person (I still think I am), but glad to know not the only one that this happens too 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
You are not alone in the sweaty elbows! Happens to me all the time. I find myself wiping my elbows in the middle of a run. Or if I’m wearing long sleeves, afterwards I notice sweat marks in that crease. Gross and weird.
Also, I go out looking like that to the grocery store 99% of the time. That’s also probably why I’ve never made a “chicken friend”.
Carolynn says
I only get sweaty elbows when I run inside on a treadmill! Never when I run outside…must be the added wind resistance?
Oh and I despise Courtney! UGH! WINNING!
Jessie says
I just tried the green onion trick over the weekend and couldn’t believe how much they had grown! It is awesome!
You are definitely not alone with the sweaty elbow, and not just when working out, also on hot summer days when my arm stays bent too long. Ick!
Lindsay@Fuel My Family says
I need to try that green onion trick! Never heard of it.
I get sweaty elbows too but my sweatiest part is my boobs. Tmi?
Katie @ Healthy Heddleston says
Didn’t know you could regrow green onions back! We loveee them here in the Heddleston household!
Tiff @ Love Sweat and Beers says
Haha, I will run the the grocery store in a sweatshirt and then get mad at myself afterwards for not at least putting on a sweater or something more presentable. Sigh… hopeless
As for the HT meal deals, I totally agree! It’s always the worst junk you can think of all thrown together.
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
I really want to try the green onion thing!
Man, I love Chandler Bing! I miss him.
Christie says
1- Saw that Harris Teeter deal the other day and totally cringed. Wouldn’t it be nice if they offered a healthy family meal deal too?! Oh and love the Friends reference!
2- The headband comment made me laugh out loud, as I am pretty sure that is how I looked when we ran into each other the other day- Ha!
3- Great idea on the green onions- and so easy!
Amy@ahealthyandhappyheart says
I also love that water bottle.. so trendy!
Katie @ cooklaughmove says
I totally get sweaty elbows too, if I wear long sleeve shirts the crook of the elbow is nasty!
Heather @ girlyeverafter says
I’ve seen those same type deals at Kroger and I almost want to ask if I have have the equivalent with Amy’s pizza and la Croix? haha
Urban Wife says
Yup, I’m in the sweaty elbow camp too.
I wish stores had coupons for healthy foods like fresh produce! The day that happens…never mind, it probably never will.
Jen@FoodFamilyFitness says
I saw a pin on pinterest about growing green onions, but I didn’t know it would really work, I’m totally going to try it out now!!!
Have a great weekend 🙂
Chelsea M says
Haha the sweaty elbows are funny. At the gym today I noticed sweat marks on the top of my knees!?!? Keep up these awesome workouts, I love the motivation!
Roz@weightingfor50 says
I don’t get sweaty elbows, but the back of my knees sweat. Grow your own green onions????????? COOL!!! Happy Friday to you Brittany!!!

Jen says

Autumn@Good Eats Girl says
I need to try that with green onions!
Geraldine says
I didn’t know I had sweaty elbows until I went to the gym with fake tan on… Post-treadmill run I looked down at my arms and saw that the tan in the crooks of my elbows had dissolved, turned green and ran down my arms! Yuk. I looked a right mess 🙂
