It’s been a while since I can honestly say I lost track of what day it was, but I was able to do just that this week down at my parent’s place. It’s been pretty sweet to just focus on kids and food with Nana’s helping hands. (Are they called helping hands if she ends up doing most the work?… Nanas are special people…)
By the way, I’ve been wooed by the French press, as delicious fresh coffee helps with early mornings and busy girls.
We’re hitting a really fun age where Hailey and her cousin, Kyla, really play amazingly together. We’ve filled the days with parks, picnics
and plenty of princess play.
We’ve flat worn ourselves out…
but lucky for us, Nana has been there to revive us with cookie dough.
We’ve gone on golf cart rides and nature walks and eaten some delicious food.
It feels nice to get away and catch up with family.
94 year age span in the above picture. How amazing is that?!
Last night I enjoyed one of dad’s special martinis and stayed up late chatting with mom and dad. I don’t get to do that often enough!
It’s really felt like a mini vacation, well as much as one can vacation with three kids thee and under, but I’m soaking it up before heading back to the dust-covered chaos David tells me the house is right now with one way-off-schedule baby. Eeks!
Happy Thursday!

Such beautiful women! You’re so lucky to be able to share your family with your children. I live four hours from my parents and (for maybe the first time in my life) wish they lived closer ever since my son was born. Ha! There is something special about grandparents.

Little vacays are the best–especially with that martini 🙂

Yay!! I loved random mini trips to grandma’s house as kid (and who am I kidding, I’m staying with my grandparents on friday night). Good luck getting babes back on schedule!

You’re making me want a mini-vacation! It looks like you are having a great time with your family. And french press coffee? The best! I’m usually too lazy to pull mine out but I think I need to soon!

I know this is my pregnancy hormones speaking, but this post makes me miss my mom so much. I wish I could have similar experiences with her. You’re lucky to have such a great mom!

Your mom looks fabulous! That pic of her & Kaitlyn is awesome! And your niece is precious, too! What a perfect idea for a getaway while your bath is being remodeled.
