My passion for working out ebbs and flows like none other, but lately I’m happy it’s been flowing. I’ve been getting a lot out of my time at the gym and am seeing more muscle definition. I’d say definition is my ultimate goal right now. Maybe you can call it strong or toned, but I love when I’m standing in shorts and surprisingly see a line of indentation defining my thigh. My thigh! Toning my legs is always my goal, so any progress there gives me great joy.
Ok, so what workouts am I doing? It changes week to week, but I try to hit all the categories- cardio, legs, arms and a total body day. This week looked a little something like this…
Monday – Cardio & Arms
Tuesday – Cardio & Legs
Wednesday – 6 mile bike hide with trailer and my little buddy (OMG, the hills!)
Thursday – Christina’s AMRAP, which David and I turned into a 3 times through circuit instead. David looked at me and said ‘she says this is a 40 minute AMRAP?! Tell her not to be such a masochist.’ Haha, we’re trying to get as tough as you Xtina
Friday – Today I will run 3 miles and do some abs. Sadly not a beach, but this picture makes me happy.
After today, my total mileage towards my 31 miles in May will be 19.87 miles. Looks like I gotta pick it up over the next week to make it!
What workouts have you been loving lately?

I’ve been hitting the hand weights more lately. It’s slow going but have to start somewhere.

I am really happy to read that you change your workouts weekly. This way you ensure that you don’t hit a plateau. Very clever of you.
Thanks for sharing your workouts with us.

Great workouts! I may have to use some of those over this long weekend…I’ve actually just started doing more workouts with weights over the past few months, aside from just straight cardio, and I LOVE it 🙂

I’m wrapping up my last week of Best Body Bootcamp and will be starting it again in June. I did really slack off these past two weeks, but happy with my progress overall. In three weeks, I move offices and am thinking of joining a spin gym that is two doors down from my new office. Yup, a gym dedicated to nothing but spinning…
We know Christina is a little crazy, but after reading about her 40 minute AMRAP, it was certified that she is indeed crazy 😉

I am one of those that if the distance says “2.9_” I will have to complete to a whole number (or an easier rounded number). I really dislike it when I am running outside to do a loop and I”m nearing the end and essientially at my house and I have to do some loops on the street nearby because I’m not at my whole number. Sometimes those 0.02 of a mile take a bit to finish up!

Those workouts look so good! Lately I’ve been pretty busy so I’ve been just doing a quick run to get my heart rate up followed by some quick but effective body weight exercises. Today I have more time though so it’ll be a full lifting session 🙂

Running everyday is my main workout; some solo running and some with the jogger now 🙂 For cross training, I do the 30-Day Shred DVD or yoga while my son is napping! It’s felt great to run without a preggo belly again. My body is starting to feel normal after 3 months of postpartum strangeness. Great job on your workouts for this week!

I have been all about doing yoga at home (during nap time!) and going on long walks around town or down at the beach with my little man. For some reason, I have about zero motivation to do an actual strength routine, but I figure yoga covers that area too. Oh! And I do Zumba on Saturday mornings- always a highlight!

Ever since the (very masochistic) GPP workouts at Blend, I’ve been inspired to work on more well-rounded approach to fitness, and realized I have been seriously lacking in the toning and conditioning department. Since I’m trying to have a more balanced perspective on fitness and working out in general, I have done an easy elliptical workout, a yoga class, a kickboxing class, and a random interval cardio circuit I made up involving the rowing machine. I am trying to break out of a rut! 🙂

It would kill me to leave a run without rounding up the mile. That .99 is killing me!!! 🙁
Brittany Dixon says
Haha, it usually drives me crazy, too. I’m trying to overcome it, but to be honest, seeing 2.99 written here now is getting under my skin!
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
My mileage has been around 70 per week 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Holy cow. I’d aim for that for an entire year- haha!
Danica @ It's Progression says
I love that amrap workout! I’m running a half marathon on Sunday, so I’m excited to start doing workouts that aren’t already planned out for me.
You can definitely accomplish that mileage goal for the month!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
Nice job! You are rocking it! 🙂

Is it just my computer or are you using smaller font print on your blogging page? I feel like an old lady (I’m only in my mid 20’s) in need of reading glasses.
Brittany Dixon says
Ah, I don’t know? On my computer it’s showing up normal sized. Anyone else think the font appears smaller??
Chassidy says
This is helpful!

I walk a lot, but need to get into some more formal type of exercise. Your post of a week of workouts has got my competitive juices going. Thanks Brittany 🙂
