Mom arrived late Friday afternoon. We scooped her up and headed to Kaitlyn’s last soccer game of the season. She’s gotten much more confident in soccer this season and it’s been fun to watch!
Afterwards, Mom, Kaitlyn, and I (David and Hailey were across town at Hailey’s soccer) got dinner at Fusion Bowl. Their hot and sour soup and dumplings were excellent, but the entrees left a lot to be desired.
Saturday morning we got in a work out, then the girls, Mom, and I headed to a roller skating birthday party. Anyone else think it’s hilarious how skating rinks truly haven’t been updated even a smidge since 1985? We had a great time celebrating Eleanor and the girls LOVED skating. So much so that they’ve both added skates to their Christmas wish lists.
We got home and ended the day with snacks, football, looking through toy catalogs, and playing games.
Yesterday morning David and I packed up the car and headed west. We made a quick stop in Black Mountain for breakfast at Blue Ridge Biscuit Company. The line was out the door and down the sidewalk, but it moved fairly quickly and was delicious.
Then we continued on to Pigeon Forge, where I begged David to stop at the Titanic Museum, but alas, we’re here on business, so we continued on to Bearolina. We loved getting to chat with our clean team, though I really should call her the dream team.
Remember when I told you how stressed I was a few weeks back when our cleaner quit on us and left us hanging? It all worked out so the absolute best. We are so pleased with our new partner and I was so happy to hug her in person.
We also tended to a few items like updating the Peloton software and fixing the timer on the fireplace, as well as adding some holiday touches to the cabin for our guests over the next few weeks to enjoy. The leaves right now are so beautiful and it is really nice to see it in all its glory. There are still a few remaining dates in 2021 if you need a mountain getaway.
David and I have a special errand to run on our way home today; I can’t wait to tell you all about it tomorrow! But now it’s time to pack up and hit the road. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
