First, I want to to thank you all for your supportive comments and emails yesterday. I read every single one (twice) and they truly made me feel so much better. I was saddened to hear that some most have experienced similar negative comments about life choices and hope you know I’m sending you a virtual hug, too!
Ok, love fest over… let’s get going…
I’m feeling like Frumpy McFrumperson in yesterday’s picture. I blame the wild hair and baggy jeans. Note taken for my next picture, but still, it shows that growing belly!
What Fruit are you? She’s a butternut squash this week at about 2.5 lbs and over 15 inches long. Muscles and lungs are continuing to mature as she puts on that cute baby chub and about 250mg of calcium are being deposited into her hardening skeleton every day, so nutrition is super important right now!
Due date: May 9, 2014
How far along: 29 weeks along.Only 77 days to go! Mind = blown.
Gender: Baby girl!
Total weight gain/loss: Up 21 pounds with a fierce appetite going strong.
Exercise: In the past two weeks I’ve done…
-1.5 mile wog and 20 minute upper body circuit
-5 minutes stair stepper, 20 minute full body circuit, 1 mile walk
-15 minutes snow shoveling and 1.5 mile walk
-10 minute stairs, 20 minute upper body circuit, 10 minutes bike
-2 mile wog
-4 mile bike ride and 20 minute upper body circuit
Looks like I’m averaging 3 days a week, which is eh, OK. I was doing more while pregnant with Hailey at this point, but I also didn’t have a toddler. I’d like to be doing more now, but it is what it is. I’m also walking about a mile or so in the evenings with Hailey and Koda, but it’s at a turtle’s pace. Still, I’m moving, which is important to me.
Stretch marks: Nada.
Swelling: Nada.
Belly button: Depends on the last meal I ate! Haha. It’s usually pretty flat. Hailey likes to give baby sister kisses, right on my belly button, and it blows my mind that she doesn’t think it’s gross looking. Ah, the innocence of children.
Sleep: Somehow I’m sleeping like a champ still! Usually 9:30/10 until 6:15 or so.
Food cravings: Nothing really. Still feeling good to eat my normal food! Though sometimes I’ll have first trimester-esque moments where fries or Rotel dip sound amazing. They usually pass in a minute or two, so I have yet to really indulge.
Symptoms: Occasional hip aches and foot cramps, but mostly I just notice that it’s getting more difficult to bend forward to tie my shoes or reach for something. I’m feeling like there is a beach ball tied to my belly. Picking something up now requires a full squat, which I’m hoping is helping to tone my legs (ha).
GREAT NEWS! I passed my glucose test! And actually, they were a little concerned because it was so low. The reading was 58 an hour after drinking the sugary stuff. I was surprised because I certainly still felt sugary/jittery when they took my blood. I’m just thrilled to not have to worry about the 3 hour test and feel confident in my ability to stabilize my blood sugars through diet.
Movement: Quite often! I usually feel strong, small movements in the upper left side of my abdomen. I’m having fun picturing whether it’s her fist or her feet poking hard to say hello. I’m also getting full rolls and the occasional sharp elbow.
What I miss: Nothing really this week, not even wine. Wahoo!
What I’m loving: Feeling good. Truly, I’m so grateful that my energy is high and I feel really good 99%of the time.
What I’m looking forward to: Organizing the nursery! Since we are using the same set up we did for Hailey, I need to do a deep cleaning of all the surfaces and linens, raise the crib, wash and organize her clothes, stock up on diapers and add a few special touches just for her. This will be easier once we decide her name.
I also took your advice and created an Amazon list to organize my thoughts on what David and I need to buy before she comes. It’s so helpful to have all the items in one place!
Hailey’s take: She often wants to give baby sister a hug and kiss and is convinced she is always sleeping in mama’s belly. The transition to her big girl room was seamless and she already refers to the nursery as baby girl’s room- success!
Words of wisdom: Keep an eye on the countdown! There is still plenty to do in the next 77 days.
For fun: 29 Weeks with Hailey
Name update… still nada. Send help!

You are doing so awesome!! The 29 week mark is right around when my running starting slowing down because I started experiencing really bad pelvic girdle pain (bad memories haha).
I’m so glad that Hailey is doing so well. She’s going to be doing 4am diaper changes like a champ soon enough hahahha (kidding Hailey! That can wait for the daytime!)

Names are hard when you are having a second of the same sex. For us, we felt like we’d already picked our favorite name and didn’t want our second to have a “reject” name from the first round so we started from scratch. I don’t think we finalized the name until a week before she was born. Have you tried digging through names from your family tree? That sometimes offers inspiration.
I think it’s important that the names sounds good together. We have sort of an old fashioned theme happeneing (Annabelle and Josephine). Hailey is kind of modern sounding so how about something like Madison or Isla?
Good luck — you have some time!

We didn’t know my second daughters name until a couple weeks before she was born. For what it’s worth, my girls are Amelia Rose and Eleanor Kelly. I wanted them both to have a name that can be shortened to a nick name, so we call them Amy and Ellie most of the time. For my youngest, I was so sick of discussing what her name should be (we both liked Ellie for short, but couldn’t agree on Eleanor or Elena) so I just let my husband pick.

If I have a little girl she will be Stella 🙂

I love the name Bridget! Maybe that’s why I named my daughter Bridget? Haha! I love that she’s the only Bridget in her grade at school and I love that’s it’s a good solid traditional name but still cute!!!
Have I sold you yet? 😉 Good luck!! Such a personal decision!
Al says
I love the name Bridget or Brigid as my cousin spells it.
Jen says
You continue to look so adorable! Your hair looks great!
Yay for the glucose test! I had similarly low results both times so I can exempt it next time. Umm not a chance there will be a next time! 🙂

I am so excited for you to have 2 girls. I have 2 girls also. They are so much fun and I am excited for them to grow up with a sister! It is hard to pick a name! Our girls are Julia Renee and Chloe Ellen. Good luck choosing a name for your little one! You look great!
Maria says
Picking a name is an important job, so no wonder you are fretting over it! Have you looked at the ancestry on your or David’s side of the family? Family names are always a favorite.
But, I also love Elizabeth, Allison, Caroline, and Catherine.
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
Looking good, mama!! We need name help too, although at this point I guess we’re waiting until we know the gender before we get too serious. I’m so glad the big girl bed was such a smooth transition!
blackhuff says
Well, you still have about 9-11 weeks to decide on a name 🙂
Briana Lucas says
Naming a human is a hard thing to do. Boy, Girl, second girl, it’s nto easy! It’s something they have to live with forever! I have a little girl and her name is Emerson Rose. The other option we had was Julia Rose. If we ever had another girl, we’d choose Julia still as we both still like the name. Good Luck!
Karen says

What about Harper? I know it is pretty popular, but how pretty does it sound with Hailey? Hailey & Harper.

First sign was the boobs getting slightly fuller without the bloat that accompanies my period (win). Then a week later I was running a race I had prepped for perfectly and my legs felt like they were encased in concrete, my average mile time for a 5k is 7 min mile and under and I couldn’t get it under a 8 min mile, I knew something was up, got a bfp the next morning.
