WIAW: The One with the Giveaway

by Brittany on November 9, 2011 · 190 comments

I have no witty intro today.  Not that I usually have a witty intro.  But I just finished editing my pictures and opened up my Windows Live Writer and just stared at the screen.

It’s funny that after a year and half of blogging I still sometimes stare blankly at my computer and think-‘wait- what do I say?’.

There is nothing more terrifying than the blinking cursor on an empty white page.

…especially when you have the theme song from the New Girl stuck in your head.

How does that even happen at 6:30am?

So instead of waiting for my decaf coffee to kick in, I figured I just ramble on about how I have nothing witty to say.

Good thing I have a giveaway at the end of this.  Otherwise I may have no redeeming factor for this post…

Breakfast

Kuerig coffee

Pictured above: said decaf coffee.  With breve cream. It’s amazing how awake it can make you feel. Who needs ya, caffeine?!

2 egg omelet with spinach and feta

The return of eggs for breakfast!! 2 egg omelet with spinach and feta. Topped with salsa, of course.

Snack

/lunch-ish

turkey provolone on a bagel

Half a whole wheat bagel with mustard, spinach, tomato, turkey and provolone stuck in the oven under broil until the cheese melted. YUM! But I just realized what a stinky cheese provolone is. P-U.

Snack

Wild Squirrel Peanut Butter and Apples

After an errand trip that took longer than expected, I arrived home hAngry and threw this snack plate together. Carrots and hummus and apples and PRETZEL PEANUT BUTTER. Oh yes, you read that right (after all, how could you ignore my all caps?)

Wild Squirrel Pretzel Pizazz and Apples 2

This delicious creation was made by Wild Squirrel Peanut Butter.  Their nut butters are all natural and made locally in Oregon.  They sent me a jar to try out and I love the pretzel pieces scattered all through the peanut butter. I approve!!

Wild Squirrel Pretzel Pizazz Peanut Butter

They also sent you a jar.  Well, one of you a jar.  And with the rise in cost of all peanut butters (thanks, drought!), who doesn’t need a free jar? Plus, the pretzel pizazz is unique, crunchy and down right yummy.

Want to win and try it for yourself?

Just leave a comment telling me your favorite way to eat peanut butter.

Easy peasy :)

Dinner

salmon and brussel sprouts pre roasting

Roasted brussels sprouts and shallots. With Salmon. And a sweet potato. Hello nutrient overload!… is that possible?  I just know it’s pretty tasty.

roasted salmon and brussel sprouts with sweet potato

FYI, if you’ve never tried roasted brussels sprouts, you should.  They even made Hubbs admit to liking brussels sprouts now. WINNING.

Snack

Stacy's Simply Naked Chips

Later, I snacked on some Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips and watched The Sing Off. Pentatonix and Vocal Point have my vote!

That’s enough rambling for now.

How tell me your favorite way to eat peanut butter and win yourself some delicious pretzel peanut butter!

*Contest closes Thursday night at midnight and the winner will be announced Friday morning*

I’m in love with this combo – wholegrain toast with peanut butter, then banana slices on top, finished off with a big sprinkling of chia seeds – heaven! It’s been a regular breakfast for the last few months :) Yummy!

My favorite way to eat PB is on toast. That way the PB gets all melty and delicious…making it more of a treat then just a sandwich.
On a side note, no pics of Hailey? She’s so darn cute.

Hi Brittany! I just found your website since I was looking for reviews on the Wild Squirrel peanut butter.

I love what you ate today…I copy and pasted your photos since I am going to make the same meals next week when my son is back from school.

We are a peanut butter family. I eat peanut everyday for breakfast on a cinnamon raisin english muffin and I have lots of different kinds of preserves to top it off. Those eggs look so good I am thinking of alternating eggs one day and an english muffin the next (LOL).

For snacks, I scoop peanut butter on celery, dip carrots, apples and wheat thins into peanut butter. Sometimes I dip pretzels into peanut butter but I never thought of pretzels in the peanut butter as they made here.

I would LOVE to try the Pretzel Pizazz or any of the flavors. They all sound interesting.

Hope I win because my son is a peanut butter AND pretzel lover and the thought of both together in the jar should make him very happy.

Happy Holidays!
Ivy
