30 Weeks Pregnant & Fun Stuff to Share!

by Brittany on June 30, 2011 · 35 comments

This may be a long one… but with a surprise at the end!

30 Weeks! There is something very exciting about being in the 30’s.  Perhaps because I expect Baby D to make an appearance during the 30’s (c’mon 39 weeks!!), but I’m ok if the little one wants to hold off until 40 weeks, too, I suppose :)

30 weeks preg

Ok, let’s get through the basics, because I have some fun stuff to share!

How I’m Feeling: Breathing is more difficult because my lungs are squished.  Energy is harder to come by than it was in the 2nd trimester, but I’m hanging in there. I haven’t had any leg cramps recently and sleep is pretty good, despite the fact that it takes me 2 couch pillows, 1 bed pillow and my snoogle to set myself up for a good night’s sleep! :)

What I’m Eating: You’ve seen most of it!  More of the same, and really making sure I’m getting in enough protein, as Baby D’s brain is in a growth spurt.  My little one can now perceive information from all 5 senses!  No strong cravings or aversions to report (how dull, right?).

Last night’s dinner: Panko-encrusted halibut, sweet potato, okra & tomatoes

How I’m Workin’ It: I’m staying consistent with the frequency,  but some cardio sessions are now 35 minutes instead of 45-60.  Once the belly starts aching, I listen!  I opted to go for a swim yesterday = brilliant!  I felt weightless for the first time in months!  Oh, and I still love yoga! Say hello to the pregnant ninja!

The Fun Stuff!: We had a co-ed baby shower thrown in Baby D’s honor this past weekend by our wonderful group of Charlotte friends!  We had a blast! There were pink and blue drinks to choose from:

IMG_9597 A super cute baby (the best time to get baby fever? When you have one on the way! I love this little one!)

IMG_9593 Intense game playing, which was a blast! There was a baby dressing relay, trivia and best of all, a baby-food trying contest. GIRLS WON!

IMG_9578 DSC_0065 Thanks to our lovely hosts and hostesses! Here I am with a few of them: wonderful girls!!

And lastly, I know, I’m a little long winded today, but I must share some amazing pictures!! Hubbs and I had the opportunity to get a sneak peak at Baby D!!  We had an incredible experience at Lake Norman Imaging and spent 45 minutes staring at our miracle, watching him/her yawn, roll over, and play with his/her hands.  It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and I can NOT wait to hold Baby D in my arms…

please say hello to my sweet baby!

Mid-yawn (yawns were our favorite!)

Check out those chubby cheeks and full lips!

Not liking the sound of jiggling pennies that Roxanne was using to try and make him/her move:

And last, but not least, someone has a silly personality, just like mom & dad, and decided to stick her/his little tongue out at us :)

Oh I’m just giddy over these pictures!! Thank you for indulging my instinctual mommy-bragging and have a fabulous Thursday!

Aw you look amazing! I hope I feel as good as you do in six weeks! The pictures are so adorable. Aren’t the 3D/4D images amazing? I love that s/he was sticking his tongue out!

Are you team green? I thought you were just keeping the sex a secret but it looks like most of your gifts are gender neutral. If so, how exciting!!! :D

We’re taking an odd approach, and only David & I know Baby D’s sex. It’s driving my family crazy, but it will be fun to reveal who he/she is at birth to all our friends and fam! :)

I think it’s super cool you guys are doing that. You must really be on your game- I’d be so afraid I’d slip in casual conversation and refer to the sex inadvertantly!

The 30′s make it all seem so real! As of tomorrow we only have 60 short days until my due due date, which puts you right around 70! I love prenatal yoga, I always leave feeling refreshed. Oh and thank you for reminding me to keep my protein intake up to help my little guy’s brain. Have a great day :)

Squeee! Wook at those cutie wootie cheekies! And those sweet wittle duckie clothes!

In all honesty, Baby D’s are the first of those types of images I’ve seen that haven’t been super weird. Baby D is obviously going to be the most adorable baby EVER!

What cool images of your baby! I gotta say, I’m impressed that you’ve managed to keep Baby D’s sex a secret. We tried when we found out, but that lasted about 6 days before we told our parents and then everyone else. Thanks for sharing and keeping us all updated :)
