Happy Friday! I’m a little bummed that our Friday night camping plans were thwarted by David’s unpredictable work schedule, but that’s the way life goes. However, I am excited that I’ll still be heading down to the ATL on Saturday for a friend’s wedding! It will be nice to catch up with my college girl friends and celebrate mine and David’s 6th anniversary in a hotel room by myself- haha. We’ll celebrate year 7 babe! And while I have a long intro going, I’m going to shout out a super HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dad who celebrates another fabulous year on Sunday!
This coming weekend perfectly sums up the May I have ahead of me… crazy and busy! I can’t wait.
But first, I’m really digging some fun things lately…
Whole Foods Bulk Salts – these jars of goodness have been hiding in plain site and I just discovered them after a friend pointed them out. There are multiple salt and spice blends and they are incredible for adding some oomph to basic dishes. This smoky fireside blends fired up the sauteed veggies I used for our fajitas
and this combo is incredible for roasting veggies.
You only need a sprinkle to really up the ante up on flavor.
This girl. (and my other sweet girl, but I don’t have a picture of her at the moment!)
…but you knew that already after my doting yesterday.
Now that she’s walking, I could justify buying her sandals and found THESE adorable ones from OshKosh at Target!
Now she doesn’t really know how to walk in them well yet, so I’m holding off before I also go crazy and buy these and these.
Green Juices. I loved the Lumi juices I got to try, but haven’t been able to find them near me yet. Still, I find myself grabbing a new drink to try fairly often, the greener/less sweet the better because I have a thing for self punishment. I’m only kind of kidding, but I try to stay away from the high sugar of the more fruits variety. Recently I tried Temple Turmeric.
It drew me in since turmeric is fabulous for the brain and has anti-inflammation properties as well. If you are a green drink lover, I recommend trying this one! It is not sweet, but I really loved it.
Spring Sandals. Not to be outdone by my girls, I splurged on some new shoes for me too.
Forgive the blurriness, as I am not accustomed to taking shoe selfies, but I really love these Wedges from Michael Kors that I snagged from Nordstrom (free online shipping and returns!). They bring back a little bit of pre-kids me when I used to try to dress cute and loved my heels. Wedges make it easier to walk, which I guess is important, and I plan on wearing these with everything from jeans to shorts to dresses. (Does that justify my purchase, David?)
My friend, and fellow blogger, Jen recently released her incredible book, At first I wondered how there could be a whole book on planks, but now I see how much I didn’t know and I love it! So many of the variations and moves highlighted in the book are used in my bootcamp workouts and are seriously great strength moves. I love how Jen breaks down the movements to ensure proper form, because if you aren’t doing it right, it kind of defeats the purpose of the exercise.
She is also hosting a month-long ultimate plank challenge that starts today so check it out!
That about sums it up for today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and just in case you are part of the 1% that hasn’t seen this gem yet,
…still makes me giggle 😉 Have a great weekend!
What are you loving lately?

i have never noticed the salts before, awesome find! Loving the shoes, too. Lately I’ve been loving watching my tulips grow and blossom around my house. Such a simple but beautiful reminder that what we started months ago will eventually grow, bloom and bring joy.

Goodness I’m in LOVE with your wedges (insert heart eye emoji x10) I’ve been looking for a pair like that. Now where is my money tree I can shake to go order them 😉
Liv @ Healthy Liv says
I love your new wedges! And the bulk salts are such a great idea. I don’t like buying whole jars of spices when I’m at school and just cooking for myself, so I love that idea!

I love how you linked to the extra shoes you want to purchase for K. I’m glad I’m not the only one that wants to buy EVERYTHING for my little girl because it’s all so cute. It’s hard to restrain myself!

I’m going to have to look for those salts at Whole Foods today!
I am loving our warmer weather and all of the cute summer clothes for girls. I have to hold back from buying all of the adorable outfits I see. :p

Did you really manage that shoe selfie? That made me giggle.. I’m still learning how to manage my selfie stick for “regular” photos let alone shoe photos. I’ve never noticed those Whole Food bulk salts, either. I’m going to have go look for them.
Despite the camping trip getting canceled, sounds like you’re going to have a rockin’ weekend!

Those sandals = ADORABLE! And your wedges are super cute too! I love a good pair of cute wedges for spring/summer.
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
Two pairs of super cute sandals! I finally bought a pair of brown wedges last year at the end of the season. I am so excited to start getting some use out of them!

love those wedges!!

Turmeric is fabulous for the brain? Perhaps the company that produces that juice should start drinking more of their product, as they can’t even spell it right on their label!

We buy bulk salts all the time and love them! My husband enjoys experimenting. 🙂 Happy anniversary and have a great weekend! My husband and I stopped really celebrating our anniversaries after kids…especially since our youngest was born on our anniversary! But this year is #10 so we are definitely doing it up right!

Awww, sad that you guys won’t get to spend your anniversary together, but it sounds like you have a nice weekend planned. Enjoy!

Love love love both pairs of shoes! So cute! There’s no Whole Foods near me, and now I’m even more bummed about it :
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul says
Ohmygod those baby sandals are the cutest!!
Giselle says
Love those sandels! Actually heading to Nordstrom now in search of shoes so will definitely be checking those out! I’ll also be looking for those salt mixes at my Whole Foods. I had no idea they existed!
Brittany Kirkland says
Have not seen that J.T image yet!!… Oh my goodness that was hilarious. Showed the hubs and he obviously didn’t get it so we had to venture back into the “good ole days” and watch the video.
I also love the wedges. After having kids I never buy for me anymore and don’t dress up. Somedays I’m pretty cool with a tshirt and shorts…. But somedays especially now that it’s spring I’m dying to dress cute again. Living in south ga I’m pretty much a flip flops girl but may have to check into those wedges. A lot of items on Nordstrom have caught my eye lately! But anywho super cute on you!
Katya says
Fun I bought my daughter (13mths old) those exact same sandals. They are so cute!!
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
I have GOT to get some of those salts! They sound delicious! And I looove Lumi juices. Such a bummer you don’t have them there! (They’re local here, so they were even serving Lumi juices at the restaurant we were at tonight!)
Jen@jpabstfitness says
Love your wedges! I’m doing Jen’s ultimate plank challenge, just ordered her book last night 🙂

Hi there! I’m probably a first time commenter, but a long time reader. I’m also a fellow Charlottean. My husband and I are involved with Lumi Juice, and I see your comment about where to buy it. 4 flavors are available at all Fresh Markets across the country including two of the green juices – Farmhouse Greens and Piedmont Pineapple. It is also available at Whole Foods in the northeast and Mid Atlantic. Also – if you like to buy 8 or more at a time, overnight shipping is free right to your door when you order a “case.” I’d also be happy to give you a discount code to try flavors you can’t get at Fresh Market. Thanks for enjoying Lumi!
