This has been a low key week, as David’s car broke down and he’s been driving mine. However, this forced time at home has turned out to be pretty nice… and educational. In these few short days I’ve learned…
That cleaning out closets to sort clothes that don’t fit anymore is best done when the three year old is NOT present and insisting that every outfit is her favwit pwincess dwess and sure those 18 month pants still fit. Sigh…
I’ve learned that I really enjoy freebies that show up on my doorstep and that this bread is delicious!
Unfortunately I also learned it’s only available at Costco near me (you can check where they are near you on their site if you’re interested) and the Costco that was supposed to open in my neck of the woods is being denied due to zoning issues.
However, local friends, Whole Foods is opening in November!
This week I realized I might just need to put my gym membership on hold for a while. I haven’t made it in a while and have been enjoying at-home videos and my new double jogger (a full review to come, but I want to spend an adequate amount of time with it first).
I also learned that Kaitlyn must have zapped any remaining semblance of ab muscles I had because the only thing killing me from my short runs is my lower-where-my-abs-are-supposed-to-be. Good thing she’s cute.
…and nowwwww I want to have another. David?
So, this is from last week, but I’m still pretty stoked to discover that Savory Spice Shop offers you a free 2 oz blend with purchase for your birthday.
Also, not all salt is the same. I save this fancy stuff for sprinkling on finished dishes and definitely can taste a difference. Or maybe I just like that it’s pink. Jury is still out.
So what have we been doing at home all week? A lot of chores, a little bit of having friends over and a whole lot of sitting in a box.
Huge birthday hit if anyone is looking for ideas. Hours I tell ya, hours …of fun.
Learn anything new this week?

Oh my gosh! I love that coloring book house–do you have the link to where you got it? I have a bunch of niece/nephew parties coming up and they would love it 😉

It was a gift so I’m not sure where that exact one is from, but zulily has some on sale right now (just make sure to check how the delivery estimate!)
It is so much fun!

Ooh, that house! My son would LOVE that!
Also, I keep seeing recommendations for Dave’s Killer Bread. I think that means I have to get me some:-).

I was just pining away for my gym membership this week. We let ours go too. The thing I miss most are the group exercise classes. I know we’ll re-join one day, but right now the pace of our lives is more conducive to at-home workouts. We even have a treadmill so that I cannot use weather as an excuse.
Have a great weekend!

It’s hard to believe you don’t have a Whole Foods, but then again, I was shocked when I moved from California to Colorado and discovered the state was JUST getting a Trader Joe’s.
Are you looking forward to getting a Whole Foods, or happy with your local options?

I find Dave’s Bread at several grocery chains near me, keep looking. It’s one of the few breads my entire family agrees on.

Hi! I have been a reader for almost a year now, and I absolutely love your blog! I live in South Charlotte and have a 2.5 yr old boy and 7 month old girl, so you write about a lot of things that we are going through, too! Your blog is one of the first things that I check in the morning while nursing my baby girl. 🙂 My question for you is about the picture with the cardboard house. What do you have hanging on the wall to the left of it, some sort of banner? It looks pretty cool!

HAHA I still dont like cleaning up my clothes! I want to keep everything! I learned that fruit flies are the most annoying thing on this PLANET.

Another baby!?? Perhaps if my husband could carry the baby and give birth, then I’d have a third. Yesterday he joked about having another and I said “I’m sure the girls will love a half sister or brother” hehe.

sometimes it’s nice to be ‘forced’ to stay home. It is amazing what you can find to do/clean. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

We love Himalayan salt! We use that more than regular salt and I have a few salt lamps as well. Big fans here!

That’s great bread–I buy it at Costco all the time. I’ve been using my Bumbleride Indie a ton for running lately now that my 4-year-old is so good on his pedal bike. I’ve had mine since I was pregnant with him and I love all the new colors that have come out since then!

I am so behind on this trend but I learned how creamy adding avocado to your smoothies makes it. It takes it to a whole new level!
I love Himalayan sea salt too. Such a different taste than sea salt or table salt.

That bread sounds delicious! I’ll have to keep an eye out for it in my area. Have a great weekend, Brittany!

Yes! Have another! 🙂
My husband and I sold our house in MN today and our movers are unloading our furniture/boxes into our CA apartment now – lots of NEW!

I can see how sorting through clothes with her would be difficult. I can’t figure out how to do anything except during nap time. Gotta work on that, I guess. E has been a little sick with a cold this week, so no play dates, library story time, etc. for us. Ugh…. going bonkers. It’s a good thing he’s feeling better today!

I’m interested in your Bumbleride review. I’m due with my second in March and have been eyeing it for a double stroller…

I love that cardboard playhouse, I think my daughter would too.
Gosh, I would LOVE a gym membership but it is so hard to get outside of our home without the kids.

That clubhouse is so adorable. Michael would love it too! I hear you on cleaning the closets. That is so not happening any time soon with my little monkey running around.
