Sure, prep work is important when it comes to eating healthy. Spending 1-2 hours on grocery day cutting up veggies and planning out meals can make living a healthy lifestyle a heck of a lot easier. Buuuuut the prep work I am referring to is much more important… bachelorette party prep work! 😉
I have a few more things I need to pick up when I’m in Charlotte today, but I feel confident that I’m well prepared with a game plan! I’m so excited to head to Charleston tomorrow!
But first, there is today. Starting with breakfast! I made a scrumptious variation of my Greek-Style Egg Wrap. Is it me, or do you find that you add spinach to anything?
Also thrown in were some red onion, a sprinkle of feta, 1 slice (nitrate free) bacon, and extra spinach on the Pepperidge Farms Deli Thin.
Oh, and of course, who can forget the Texas Pete?!
Off to begin my busy day! I hope I don’t forget anything… I don’t have a list made yet, which scares me because I am a big fan of making lists. Sometimes (like my mom), I’ll even write something I’ve already done on my list, just so i can check it off! It makes me feel accomplished 😉
Anyone else do that? Have a great day!

What a good day this is turning out to be! I’m still out on the road, but thought I’d do a quick update with some good news!
First I snacked on a J.del cracker I found in my purse…
Then stopped by my on-the-road favorite, Chickfila.
But the best news of the day, I got from my doctor! My heart is ok, but I wasn’t imaging the palpiltations- they’re happening!
Check back in later and I’ll give you the full details on what the results were when I get back to my computer. And thank you all for your well wishes 🙂

Home at last! And I was ready to chew off my arm for a snack, but instead I opted for a much tastier option
2% cottage cheese with a peach and blackberries from the produce stand. YUM. Hit the spot!
Thank you for your concern about my heart, and I know quite a few of you said you experienced the same thing. Well, hopefully it is as harmless as my flutters are.
The heart monitor revealed that I was feeling PVCs (Premature Ventricular Contractions). These are benign flutters that, according to my doctor, everyone has. Some have more than others, but they happen to everybody at some point. My were occurred 59 times in a 22 hours period, which equaled just under 1% of the time. The good news is that they are benign.
Here’s a link to PVCs at the Mayo Clinic
She said I was most likely feeling them because I am in such good shape and have a healthy, slow heart rate that they were more noticeable to me. I didn’t fess up to my skipped workouts with Jillian, and instead just smiled and took the compliment 😉
She mentioned if they were very upsetting or bothersome to me she could put me on beta blockers (heart meds), but she wouldn’t recommend them because I already have a low resting heart rate. OF COURSE I said NO MEDS! She was happy about my decision. As long as I know they aren’t a sign of anything troublesome, I don’t mine feeling the flutter. She also mentioned that caffeine will cause them to happen more often, so if you are having flutters, lay off the caffeine and see if you can tell a difference. Also, changes in hormones can cause PVCs, too. So if you just got on or off birth control, got pregnant, hit menopause or any other hormonal changes, that may have something to do with it.
Needless to say, I’m thrilled that it’s nothing serious. Especially after I missed the call from the doctor’s office twice, and no one would leave the results on my voicemail (I thought that usually meant bad results…)
Now with my clean bill of health, I am off to pack for the weekend in Charleston, then go whip some butt on the tennis courts 😉

Simple spinach salad and a frozen pasta bake… Followed by 2 hours on the tennis court…. Almost won!! … But didn’t 😛
Night all 🙂

Wow! This looks fantastic! You’re a genius!

I love adding spinach to eggs! In fact, I did it this morning too! And yes, I use it in just about anything to punch up the nutrition: soup, pizza, chicken etc etc etc. It’s so versatile!
I’ve always wanted to go to Charleston! Have TONS of fun!

I’m going to check back to find out about what your palpitations were from, because I feel like I have those sometimes, too. Your Chick-Fil-A sandwich looks awesome – wish we had those here in MN!

Hey girlie! Have fun in Charleston. I’m so glad your heart is good! Mine isn’t just doing palps. My HR is super high. I haven’t had my appt yet so I haven’t had to wear one of those monitors yet. I’ll meet with the cardiologist on the fourth. I think they’re planning on an echocardiogram. I’ll keep you posted! 🙂
Lindsay @ Pinch of Yum says
glad to hear the heart thing was normal. Ironically, I have tried to start weaning myself off drinking coffee in the last week, and I can honestly say that I haven’t noticed my palpitations as much … weird. And I must give a shout out to your cottage cheese and fruit!!! 🙂 Ok, I’m done commenting. Twice on one post is probably plenty.
