I tried to find a creative way to highlight the weekend. There were some highs and lows and I was trying to work up something cute to tell you about them… but after multiple tries I gave up and decided I’d just share the weekend in disorganized tidbits.
Maybe I should start with.. Pizza. I had it for dinner Friday and Saturday nights.
Life happens. Don’t judge.
But I did restock with healthy foods for the week! Oh how I love my bulk bins.
And I discovered a fun new drink! Have you heard of Mamma Chia?
It’s full of hydrated chia seeds. It sort of tastes like you are drinking partially melted jello, and I mean that in the best way possible! It’s only slightly sweetened with agave, loaded with omega-3s and I thought it was pretty neat.
I also tried out some edamame hummus.
It tasted fancy. I liked it. But I couldn’t bring myself to pay almost $5 for something I could eat in one sitting, so I spent half of that on some Harris Teeter hummus instead.
I saw my friends this weekend, too!
We took a quick trip to Greenville on Saturday to help my man, Crawford, celebrate the big 0-1!
Is he cute or what? And mom had some adorable decorations…
I fit in TWO wogs this weekend which totaled to about 8 miles. Pizza guilt? Perhaps 😉
…but on my long wog, my legs gave out just over half way through and I walked the rest of the way home. Guess I’ll be repeating week 6 day 3 of couch to 10k.
Hubbs brewed a cherrry stout…
while I soaked up a spider monkey nap.
She never naps like this, but I’m going to try and soak up a few of them because she’s growing up so fast. Proof?
Last night we switched to the crib.
I won’t lie, I shed a few tears when I crawled into bed without her beside me in the Moses basket.
But she did great. She was down by 8:00 and woke up this morning at 7:30 when I gently tried to wake her. My body was telling me it was time for her to eat!
I can’t believe she slept for 11.5 hours. Thank you to all my facebook friends who offered some feedback on the crib issue. She looked like such a peanut in her big crib, but I guess she’s growing up… time marches on…
Sigh…
A bit dramatic? Me? Never! 😉
Have you discovered a new food product you’ve loved lately?
I’m always searching for new, fun stuff, so tell me about it!

Woah that chia drink has tons of fiber! that’s kind of cool! And melted jello doesn’t sound bad 😉
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
Is it weird that every time I see babies swaddled in whatever that swaddling wrap thing is I get jealous? They look so comfortable!
I would love to try that Chia drink out, definitely need to keep my eyes open for that.

Greenville, SC? I just went there yesterday!
And I think that Mamma Chia tastes like jello too. My husband was grossed out by it, but I thought it was good.

Sounds like a good weekend! Especially the pizza…
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
I recently discovered that Vermont Bread Company’s cinnamon raisin bread is 100% whole wheat!! And, like all their products, it is made with all natural ingredients! Win!
Jessie @ Graze With Me says
Good job on switching to the crib! I did it @ 6 weeks cause my little girl’s a noisy sleeper. Lyric slept for 11 hours on Saturday night, it was awesome. Of course I woke up 5 times though. 😉
So I might be wrong but didn’t they do a recall on all puffy crib bumpers? I thought I heard that recently…?
Megan says
It’s the holiday season, just blame the pizza on that 🙂 And Hailey is so, so, so cute!
Maria says
Gorgeous little girl! 11.5 hours – I’m totally jealous she got that much sleep!
Congrats on the wogs – walking or no walking! I started C25K two weeks ago and am still on week 1 🙂 Tis the season.
Kristen @ The Concrete Runner says
I’ve recently tried both the chia drink + the edamame hummus! Loved them both, but agree, way to expensive to be regular cart items!
chelcie @ chelcie's food files says
she is such a little muffin! too cute! I love the idea of displaying the baby pictures through the months, such a cute idea!
Lisa says
Trader Joe’s has really awesome and affordable edamame hummus!! It’s a regular buy for me.

I would never judge you for eating pizza twice! Those decorations are adorable! 🙂
blackhuff says
Yes, they do grow up so fast. She is getting so cute by the day 🙂
Well done on your two walks.
Brewery at home is illegal here in South Africa. So that is not something you will see here.
The cherry stout sounds good that your husband is brewing.
Karen @ Are we there yet? says
What’s wrong with pizza?!
As a new mom I thought you might be interested in this deal I found from Haba. They make awesome, colorful wooden toys!

I am starting to think about transitioning my little guy to his crib but I’m just not ready yet. He’s 8 wks old and his bedroom is just too far away!
