Name that movie! It’s Friday, which I love! Annnnnd we have a good friends’ wedding to attend this weekend in Charlotte <3. Don’t you just love wedding season? 🙂 I’ve had a fun one so far with a bachelorette party, 2 weddings, a wedding shower, and another bachelorette party in a few weeks. Loves it! If I only I owned more dresses so I didn’t have to wear the same 2 dresses to everything 😛 Any suggestions for wear to shop for cute, yet affordable dresses?
Anyways, another thing that I love? Finalllly being able to make a green monster green, instead of purple. I finally did it this morning! A friend of mine is a distributor for Juice Plus. Have you heard of it? Juice Plus She sent me a couple samples to try out of their Juice Plus Complete Shake Mix. I was thrilled to see she sent the facts along with it:
Alright all you label lovers, dissect it for me! 😉 Upon my first inspection I was impressed at all the vitamins and minerals in it. It’s like drinking a multi-vitamin! Then I noticed it seemed high in sugar (13g), but remembering that Juice Plus uses fruit and vegetable powders (made solely from the fruit or vegetable), I thought maybe that is why the sugar content was higher? I’d really love to hear your thoughts on the label facts!
I added it to my blender with almond milk and flax seeds.
Then I added a small handful of raspberries (frozen) and baby spinach. Then I blended. Then I added more spinach (I was green with determination). And it finally worked!
My first thought? It tasted a little chalky. But maybe I didn’t put enough almond milk in? The flavor was good though!
See, it’s GREEN! I was so excited. 😛

Well that smoothie held me for about 45 minutes 😛 I guess I forgot to add some peanut butter or something with staying power. So I had a decent sized “snack” to help out…
whole wheat pasta
plus chicken
plus marinara, makes a satisfying snack!
Jillian and I worked out together again yesterday, but I’m not feeling it today. Dare I say it’s time to move on to level 2?!

Snack 1 was followed closely by snack 2 🙂 This snack I didn’t create on my own, rather I stole it from my daddy. He used to make these when I was growing up! I haven’t seen him make one in a while, but I ought to remind him- it’s yummy!
The most important thing about this snack is that you use a REAL tomato… from a farmers market, not the grocery store. Then cut it up, drizzle it with balsamic, sprinkle on some salt, pepper and oregano and summer is served!
Lunch was at one of my favorite local salad joints… I made my own with romaine, feta, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms and … I forget. But there was a 5th topping 🙂 All mixed together with Greek dressing!
Served with a wheat roll… right out of the oven! Good timing!
I had a small afternoon snack, which is why I’m realizing now why I’m so hungry. I haven’t eaten much!
See the little cheese wedge hiding in the corner? Yeah, I ate him too 🙂
Now I’m waiting on Hubbs to get home… it’s Friday and we are going out to eat. Too worn out to make anything. I love Fridays 🙂

Any guesses where we went? MEXICAN! Here’s my meal in pictures:
A margarita for Hubbs, a Corona for me… I ordered a light, but they brought the original. I didn’t care enough to send it back 😉
We stuck to our absolute usual… I ate about 1/2 the chips, a ton of salsa, 1 fajita, and some self-made nachos with chips and fajita ‘toppings’. A perfect Friday night!

I don’t know what movie that’s from… Wedding Crashers maybe?? But yes, I do love wedding season!! This is the first time in a long time we don’t have any weddings to go to. I think now everyone’s having babies! My favorite part of weddings is the CAKE and dancing!! 🙂

Gotta love a summer full of weddings!!! I only had one this summer and was a little sad about that….all of our friends and family are married! There are just a few left!
Your Mexican dinner looks great! I went on a Mexican food kick last week and am craving it again!!

Brittany,
You were correct…the only sugar in the JP+ Complete protein powder is the natural fructose. And, it already has spinach, broccoli, kale, etc. in it, so you don’t really have to add any greens to it, unless you want the extra boost of nutrition. I make mine with the almond milk, water, frozen strawberries, blueberries and 1/2 frozen banana and flax seed and it’s delicious!. The entire blender is less than 400 calories. Let me know if you need another Vanilla sample.
The chocolate powder is great with almond milk, flax seed and ice.
Hope this helps!
