It’s Friday! The Friday before Christmas! CHRISTMAS!
I’m mentally checked out because holiday joy has taken over me, much like it always has when Christmas gets near and family comes together.
I’m bottom left in case you couldn’t guess
So, let’s have some fun… (thanks Julie for the questions!)
Favorite Holiday Cookie
My mom’s cream cheese thumbprints, followed now by these butter pecan cookies.
Favorite Holiday Song
Tough one! If I had to choose, maybe Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. That or J. Beib’s Under the Mistletoe. Shawdy with you…
Favorite Holiday Movie
Love, Actually.
Tree- real or fake?
I’m a diehard REAL tree lover.
2007 Christmas in my tiny apartment, still with a real tree. And a tiny Koda!
Favorite Holiday Tradition
I don’t know if there is a specific tradition that means a lot to me, but more so the feeling. You say Christmas and I can immediately close my eyes and feel warm and fuzzies. Christmas music playing, people laughing, sipping wine, playing cards, eating great food, fire burning… perfection. Add in a giggling toddler and I’m sure things will only be sweeter this year!
Favorite Holiday Meal
Whatever my mom makes! Traditionally we have tenderloin every Christmas Eve and it’s always delicious.
Favorite Person to Shop For
Hailey bug!

Favorite Way to Open Presents
Well, this might be changing soon. We always opened all family presents Christmas eve, then Santa would come Christmas morning. David feels strongly about all presents on Christmas day. I see us having to decide on our tradition soon! Right now though, I love the White Elephant game our family plays Christmas Eve- always so much fun!
Pick a question and share your answer! I love hearing about other people’s holiday traditions!

Oh my gosh, those puppy pictures of Koda kill me! She’s so cute! Great list!

When my mom was growing up they did presents like you. Family gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa delivered gifts for Christmas morning. When I was growing up we did it all on Christmas morning. It’s so much fun creating new traditions for our own families. 🙂

Merry Christmas Brittney! Enjoy the old and new traditions with your family.

My parents had the same opening presents debate, and I loved how they compromised. All presents from my Mom’s side of the family were opened on Christmas Eve as well as gifts within our immediate family. Anything from my Dad’s side was opened on Christmas Day (along with Santa gifts). I loved it that way as it spread the gift opening a bit longer :-).

Oh those Kodak puppy pics are precious!
One of my fav family christmas traditions was caroling! The whole family would gather at my great-aunts home where we would nibble on cookies and other goodies for a bit. Then once everyone was there we would bundle up and walk the neighborhood ringing doorbells and singing Christmas songs. It was so much fun! Unfortunately we haven’t done it in years because everyone has grown up and moved away but it made for some sweet memories. 🙂

My favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night, sung by either Josh Groban, Faith Hill, or Celine Dion.
My favorite holiday movie is Christmas Vacation, followed by A Christmas Story, The Holiday, and Elf.
Merry Christmas to you!!!!

My parents had the same present opening debate. They compromised by letting us open one present Christmas Eve which was always new pajamas and usually a new Christmas movie for us to watch that night. My hubs and I will probably do something similar!
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
We always have prime rib on Chriastmas eve! That’s my favorite tradition. Just me and the fam.
