We definitely packed a full weekend’s worth of activity into one day, Saturday.David took both girls to soccer bright and early while I went early to downtown Mooresville to help set up for our local Girls on the Run chapter’s fundraiser, the Maker’s Market.
I’ve been involved with our local chapter for about two years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the organization as a whole and about our local council and volunteers. It’s really inspiring to see such a cool event filled with artisan vendors come together to help give scholarships to local girls who otherwise would not get to participate in the program, which inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident– a mission especially important to me as a mom to two girls.
I was there by 7:45 am and after 2 hours of set up, we were all so excited to see a line forming, awaiting the 10:00 am opening.
Then the fun began!
I worked the registration for most of the event but managed to sneak away a time or two to hang out with the cow
and peruse the amazing shops that were set up.
It was just like walking through Etsy– so many unique and adorable pieces!
I am clearly behind I suppose, but just discovered cup cozies and think they are the cutest thing ever. I’m trying to decide which one of these to buy and thinking of snagging an extra too because what a great Christmas gift idea, right?!
My friend Angela’s mom makes couture doll clothes that fit American Girl sized dolls. They are INCREDIBLE. I’m checking to see if she has an online shop I can share with you guys because I’ve never seen anything quite like the quality of these clothes. (If you are interested, leave a comment or email me and I can get you more info.)
Oh- just one more! I have to share Smallcakes with you because I wanted to faceplant into every single one of their creations. They’re in Huntersville, so if you are local, make sure to check them out; their cupcakes are incredible!
The event went off beautifully and I headed home around 1:30 pm, making it home in time to watch my dawgs lose to Vandy (this season is painful y’all). It was such a beautiful day that David I couldn’t resist heading back out of the house to check out Laketoberfest in Cornelius.
I mean, they had free bouncy houses and slides set up for the kids. What’s not to love about that? We spent a lot of time quite literally bouncing around…
which turned into a giant family wrestling match on the turf where the festival was held.
We’re classy like that, but we sure did have fun.
As the kiddos started to fade, we grabbed a beer from one of the many local breweries
and wandered around, listening to the band and hitting up every cornhole game we came across.

The kids were DONE by this point, but I can’t resist a food truck and The Improper Pig’s pulled pork nachos with… wait for it… warm pimento cheese (!!!) were just too much to resist.
We came home and the kids crashed hard, giving David and I time to watch The Martian (liked it!). We balanced out our crazy Saturday with a super low key Sunday, which was just what we needed before the slam-packed week ahead. Gosh I love fall- so many fun things to do!
Did you hit up any fall fun this weekend?
Is there a particular organization that is near and dear to your heart? Which one?

Fall is my favorite season! We have family staying with us, from Italy – so we took advantage of the amazing Boston weather this weekend & walked all around Boston Public Garden & Faneuil Hall. Love your plaid blouse & crossbody bag!! Where are they from?

I have friends in Boston and they say it’s just amazing weather there right now- how fun!! My shirt is from J Crew from a couple years ago so it’s not available anymore but I linked to a similar shirt and my bag (from Nordstrom!) above if you want to check them out. I absolutely love my purse (snagged it during the big semi annual sale this summer).

Such a fun weekend! Ours was super low key. We landed Friday evening, so the weekend was filled with lots of post-vacation laundry… But we also had some fun on a few playgrounds… 🙂
Have a great week!

I hope you had a ball in Japan!! But oh man, that post vacay laundry is no joke… 🙂

Looks like an awesome setup!! We usually do more fall activities by now, but so far have only gone to an apple orchard… once. We’re heading to a corn maze on the 29th, but will probably go get pumpkins next week. We’re debating whether or not to go someplace that has activities there or just a regular ole pick your own pumpkin patch without anything fancy. 😉

What a fun weekend! Weather looked perfect!! We spent some time at a VA State Park with Girl Scouts this weekend!
I’d love more info about the American Girl doll clothes, if you can find it!
