Sometimes people ask me how I come up with something to write about every morning. Well, I usually have a running list of topics in my head, buuuuuuut other times I take a break and just participate in fun little posts that have been going around. Like this one…
Currently Reading…
Killing Lincoln. At least, if I was reading that would be true since it’s sitting on my coffee table. When do people find time to read? Looks like I’m struggling again to get to 10 books this year. Shameful.
Currently Watching…
Master Chef. I can’t get enough of the mystery boxes and elimination challenges! I’m currently pulling for Luca because of his accent and genuine surprise and excitement every time they tell him they like his dish. He’s hilarious.
Oh. Maybe that’s why I have no time to read…
Currently in Hailey’s World…
Two word sentences and the cutest pronunciations I’ve ever heard. I have a list of words I’m going to make her say on video today so I can always remember how she says Kwaaa for Water and Uppeeze for Up Please.
Currently Focusing on…
Balancing my blood sugars. I have always had issues with hypoglycemia and blood sugars. After all, do you remember my glucose test disaster during pregnancy? I know how to eat to correct this, but have gotten off track. I wake up at 6:15am and don’t eat breakfast until Hailey does at 8:30am. That’s no good. I’ll write more about it, but I need to change some habits.
Currently Listening to…
Cups. On Repeat. Love it. (The song starts around 1:30)
Currently Enjoying…
Bloglovin’. I was probably the only person that never had a google reader, but I’ve been using Bloglovin’ to read blogs and think it’s pretty great!
Currently Giggling At…
Koda in tall grass trying to find David. She may not get much attention on the blog, but I love that sweet, silly dog!
and this
and this.
What are you up to currently?
Karen says
Oh gosh, I can’t wait to here what you have learned about your blood sugar issues. I also am hypoglycemic and am struggling with it daily. And to make matters worse, we are training for a big trip with a lot of activity and I am scared that something may happen out in the middle of nowhere with no medical help nearby.
I was told to eat every three hours to keep it stable, but I am not hungry every three hours, so I don;t like to eat when I am not hungry. I have talked with three doctors and none have any better advice than the other. So frustrating!!!!
Brittany Dixon says
It is frustrating! Years ago, mine was pretty bad. I would get light headed and almost pass out and get MEAN. Since I’ve switched to a more whole foods based diet, it is much better, but still not where I need to be. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on what I find!
Jill says
I love everything about this post!
I loved Killing Lincoln (I read it when M was sleeping and I was supposed to be cleaning…)
Cups is so addicting.
Toddlers are seriously the best thing ever.
MasterChef is awesome (but I totally miss Lynn and wish he was better in competitions!!)
Jim Gaffigan is hilarious (have you seen his McDonald’s skit???) It’s pure genius.
🙂

This has been a busy week for us. We just got back from a trip to Ohio, so I’ve been trying to get everything unpacked, washed, etc. And then poor Addie came down with her first cold. 🙁 Brandon had gotten one when we were in Ohio, and I guess he accidently gave it to her. I feel so bad for her!

I read books when Penny watches shows haha. She asks to watch a show for some downtime, so I put something on and get a good 20 min of reading in.

I always read a little bit before bed each night and it helps me settle down to sleep. Lately though, I may only read a page or two before I’m out, so it’s taking me longer to get through a book! Just finished The Great Gatsby and about to start Catching Fire.
I’ve gotten hooked on the show Revenge (on Netflix) so intriguing!
Brittany Dixon says
I wanted to reread The Great Gatsby, too! Looks like that it happening anytime soon, so I’ll just wait until the movie comes out on dvd 😉
Shari says
That picture of Hailey is just the cutest!

I never used Google Reader but am loving BlogLovin! It makes reading blogs on the iPhone a lot easier. 🙂
And currently, I am freaking out about our trip to India (we leave tomorrow)! SO much left to do!!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh my goodness, that sounds amazing!! I hope you have an incredible trip!
Katie says
Toddler speak is my favorite…currently Kheri’s new favorite phrase is “I can’t find…fill in the blank…anywhere.” It makes us laugh every morning 🙂
Danica @ It's Progression says
It’s a must for me that I drink at least 1 full glass of water and eat something within about 45-60 minutes of walking up, otherwise I get extremely nauseous and even shaky. It’s rare that I don’t eat in that time frame but when I do it’s definitely not a good thing!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
Love! It definitly is hard to think of something NEW every day! That’s why these “survey”-ish type posts are so great 🙂 I had never used Google Reader as well, so I’m finding Bloglovin’ to be fabulous! It’s so easy! Also, Koda is adorable, and those two pictures had me cracking up. Have a good day!
christina says
I love when you do these types of posts. 🙂 Love changing things up! Ohhh if you like bloglovin, you should check out Feedly. It’s what I use and was the easiest transition from google reader. 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
I’ve heard people love feedly! Honestly, I just got used to bloglovin’ so I’m not venturing anywhere new anytime soon 😉
Lia says
I am also curious to hear about your thoughts on you blood sugar. I have always struggled with some hypoglycemia (gotten better as I’ve gotten older) and am interested to hear your tips. Also, I love that video of Koda. She looks like a deer!!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
I always love the pictures of Hailey. She is such an expressive girl! That, and you obviously are great at capturing the moment.
Hanna says
I’m currently trying to stay motivated to lose the last bit of baby weight. I’m also getting my daughter ready to start day school and begin taking ballet class! She’s excited 🙂 I’m also trying to prepare for a work trip to Chicago next week.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine says
I never had a Google reader either and I use bloglovin and it is the best!
Danielle says
I love the video of Koda. She reminded me of my dog when he bounces after squirrels in the yard. Adorable.
Julie says
My daughter can do that Cups song. She’s 13 & not only has a beautiful voice, but she can do the cup thing perfectly, too. Glad she gets her vocal abilities & hand/eye coordination from her dad! 😉
Caitlin says
I have time to read and yet I’ve been struggling to find a book I really enjoy.
Ugh. That song. I work in retail and the Cups song comes on like 50 times a day, I use to really like it 🙁 This also applies to the Get Lucky song and the Robin Thicke song.
Haven’t watched last night’s Masterchef but I was cheering for Brie until she went home last week and now I think I’m cheering for the blonde girl.
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
It totally caught me by surprise, but I love Bloglovin’ even more than Google Reader! I was SO grief-stricken when Google made the announcement too. LOL. The Waldo thing cracked me up!
Neil Butterfield says
I would love to read the book about Lincoln. I must get a copy.
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
Currently…trying to figure out how to be a student again! Classes start on Wednesday and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Happy to catch up with you, though. 🙂
