I packed a lot into this weekend. It started with the most perfect weather on Friday evening for a cookout at a friend’s house.
It was cool enough to be comfortable and the food spread was delicious.
The spiraled zucchini ‘pasta’ salad really has me anxious to pull out my spiralizer!
I loved the idea for a lighter side option.
There were yard games and beer and even water balloons, which were a huge hit!
Saturday I packed up Kailtyn and headed down to Greenville, SC to meet my best friend’s new baby girl. Sweet Sutton is 10 days old and I just love that our two girls are going to be so close!
My other BFF flew in from Boston and it was so great to have some girl time just to relax and catch up.
On our ride home on Sunday, I got to chat with my awesome dad and wish him a happy Father’s Day. I wish we all lived closer to celebrate together.
Once I arrived home, during Hailey’s nap, I actually found a minute to do a little meal planning.
Overly ambitious? Quite possibly! This week should be a doozy, so I guess we’ll see.
Once everyone was up, we spent the rest of the day celebrating this guy…
I couldn’t ask for a better man to share this parenting journey with than David. He is our rock and it’s clear he loves all his girls so much.
A bonus? He makes a mean mojito!
We are so grateful for him!
How did you spend your weekend?
What is your favorite dish to bring to a cook out?
Lindsey says
We spent it doing yard work, playing in the yard, having brunch with friends and getting in lots of family time 🙂
I usually bring a quinoa salad!

Yard work always makes me feel so productive! And my yard is in some serious need of it. What a great weekend!

What a wonderful weekend! Filled with so many smiles, this is so great to see 🙂 I went to a wedding of a friend, which was beautiful, and moved my life from PA to MI….quite a drive in a U-Haul!
Brittany Dixon says
Whew, yes- what a drive, but so exciting! What a great weekend 🙂

Looks like a fun-filled weekend! Happy (belated) Fathers’ Day to David! And I totally need to get back out my spiralizer. It has been tucked away for waaaay too long.

I’m so impressed you already took K on her first road trip. Go mama! She sure is adorable. And umm your boobs look AMAZING!
Brittany Dixon says
If by amazing you mean out-of-control, then yes I agree! 😉 I do not recognize this body I’m in right now!

How fun that your best friend has a baby the same age! They look so sweet together.
A mojito-making hubby is a very important skill. 🙂

It was a beautiful weekend here, too! So glad you’ve been getting out and enjoying it. We were at the beach with family and it was so nice to slow down.
Those babies- too cute!!

One of my close friends moved to Greenville, SC last August. 🙂 Sounds like you had a great weekend.

I adore that smiling picture of Kaitlyn! She’s such a cutie!
Your weekend sounds awesome, busy but filled so much fun stuff.

I’ll take one of those mojitos please! Looks like a wonderful weekend. So fun you and your BFF have girls so close in age. My bestie and I are just a few weeks apart and our moms have been friends since before we were born. We grew up more like sisters and have remained that way even though we know live many miles away from each other 🙂

We were going to ask if David owns a shirt, but it looks like he owns at least one!

Glad you had such a nice weekend!
What do you think of that cookbook? The title in itself sounds awesome.

Looks like fun!! We had a good weekend too!! Although I need to get Nia more used to being around other kids because sadly her cousins over-stimulated her this past weekend. That sure backfired on me; instead of having playmates to keep her occupied she was a stage one clinger!

I am sure you’ve answered this, but can’t seem to find it–what spiralizer do you recommend? Thanks!
