I love the hustle and bustle of back-to-school season. Getting back to routine after a summer of playing it loose tickles my type-A tendencies, and if I’m honest, my kids need the reset too — their behavior gets a little wild by the time August rolls around, which is just a reminder that we all thrive more with a little order to our days.

Even though we homeschool, I still love bringing that same back-to-school energy into our home — the fresh notebooks, the supply run, the sense of a clean slate. Every year around this time, I carve out an afternoon to go through the girls’ closets. I do this each season so we head into the next one knowing exactly what they need instead of randomly grabbing a cute top while we’re out running errands. I’ll be honest — Abercrombie wasn’t the first place I thought to shop for the girls. I have fond memories of wanting all the Abercrombie in my own middle school years, and I still love a pair of their jeans for myself, but it took me a while to realize they carry a whole kids’ line too.
