Pull On Jean Leggings / Back Detail Pleated Cami
I love the hustle and bustle of back to school season. The getting back to routine after playing it fairly loose all summer tickles my type-A tendencies. And if I’m being honest, my kids need a reality check; their behavior had been less than stellar before we started back to school, which just reminds me that we all thrive more with order to our days.
Even though we homeschool, I like to bring the same excitement of getting ready for back to school (the glue sticks! The notebooks!) into our home. We spent a full week getting supplies together, organizing the homeschool room, and picking up necessary items for fall activities (soccer cleats, ballet slippers, etc).
I also went ahead and checked off the daunting task of going through the girls’ closets. I like to do this each season so we head into the next knowing the girls are set with clothes and shoes for the upcoming season. It helps me get a better picture of what they really need versus randomly reaching for a cute top or pair of shoes while we are out and about. After a thorough rummaging, I found the girls each needed a pair of casual slip-on shoes, jeans, socks, and just one or two tops to fill out their fall wardrobes.
Hailey: Off the Shoulder Lace Trim Top / Dark Wash Jean Leggings
Kaitlyn: Pull On Jean Leggings / Back Detail Pleated Cami
I’ll be honest, I hadn’t thought to shop at Abercrombie for the girls. Even though I bought my favorite pair of jean short there a few months ago and have fond memories of wanting ALL the Abercrombie in my middle school years, I wasn’t aware they offered clothes for younger kids. But they do! And super cute clothes, might I add. Their denim (see all sales here) is the best I’ve found for my girls. Their sizes start at 3/4, which meant I could even snag jeans for my half-pint, Kaitlyn.
Medium Wash Pull-On Jean Leggings / Tie-Front Tee in Heather Pink
Her favorite pair is the pull on jean leggings with elastic waist (see all colors and styles here). Not only do they fit great AND stay up, they are stretchy enough to make running, jumping, and playing comfortable.
Kaitlyn fit really well into the 3/4 pull-on jean leggings (the 3/4 jeans were a little big in the waist, but keep in mind, she wears 2T/3T undies- she’s pretty small). I ordered Hailey the 7/8 size and I think that was the right choice. They are a little big on her, but considering it’s August and I want her to be able to wear them through April of next year, I did not want them tight. I appreciated that they were comfortable for her, since she can be my child that gets bothered by the “feel” of pants or tags against her skin.
Ripped Light Pink Pull-On Jean Leggings / Light Pink Plaid Button-Up Shirt
We are all happy to be in the back to school rhythm and are looking forward to all the adventures to come. Their closets are stocked and ready for exploring nature, trips into Charlotte (riding the light-rail is on our fall list of adventures to take), and meeting new friends in our co-op, which begins next week!
If you’re looking for cute and comfy clothes for your kids to wear all school year long, check out Abercrombie Kids and send them off to school in style!

Abercrombie would be lucky to have Hailey and Kaitlyn as their official models! They wear it so well!

Very cute outfits! I haven’t been minding spending a bit more on some clothing items for my oldest since I know my younger will be able to wear it as well (he pretty much only gets hand me downs for now). As far as schedules… left to my own devices I’m not so much a type A as I am a type Z! Any sense of schedule is gone for me over the summer when I’m off work, but at some point it becomes too much of a good thing and I welcome the forced schedule of teaching. So far this year has been easier, mostly because my 2 year old isn’t taking more than a cat nap during the day, so I can get him to bed at a more reasonable time (still not early, but at least before/ by 9 pm).

I loved Abercrombie & Fitch when I was a teen. Honestly their jeans lasted me forever (3+ years) and were always so comfy. I knew that their brand was struggling for a while BUT I think with the right “models” … your kiddos (for example) … and the brand will bring in the right crowd to keep them going!! Do you ever shop at the adult store??
Brittany Dixon says
Yes I do! The shorts I’m wearing right now are from Abercrombie actually. I bought them in the spring and they’ve been my go-to all summer. Again, I hadn’t thought to shop there but my friend Molly (from Stiletto and Diapers) swore by the shorts so I jumped on board and I love them 🙂

I stopped shopping there after this.

Yes, I remember seeing that! That was in 2006 I think? The new CEO, a business woman named Fran Horowitz, took over as CEO in February of last year. From what I’ve seen she’s steered the company in better direction (for example, I love their kids clothes now seem playful and sassy rather than the “sexier” look that they seemed to go towards for a little while several years back). I’m so glad to see it!

There clothes, models and business direction has completely changed after their horrid CEO was fired. Not the kids clothes are truly for kids to be kids. SO MUCH better now. I shopped there in Middle and HIgh School all the time and then in College when I worked their and never stopped since I live by Corp. and now my girls wear the kids store. Great quality, styles and actually much better prices than when I was in MS/HS lol.
