Can I first say that I’m loving it’s Friday? With Mema’s helping hands I knocked out so much of my to do list this week, but I’m a little tired from it all. Hailey and Kaitlyn really have the most wonderful grandparents that love and want to be with them. Lucky ladies (and lucky me who benefits from their visits!).
So what else is rocking this little world of mine lately?
1. Let’s start with Stitchfix (<- affiliate link). I am getting monthly fixes and though I don’t always blog about them, they’ve really scored some points with me lately!
I’ve received a few comfortable tops that make me feel a bit more pulled together than workout gear.
And some dresses that have me feeling like I need to get out more so I can have a chance to wear them.
2. Christmas parties! Julie hosted a few of us the other night for a cookie exchange and I really had such a great time feeling like Brittany and not just mom. Though ‘mom’ is one of my favorite things to be, it was pretty refreshing to relax and laugh with just friends.
Plus, cookies.
3. Kodiak Cakes Muffin in a Cup. The kind people sent me a few of these to try out and I was surprised at how delicious they are- dessert-like! The ingredient list is decent, though the sugar content is high. Most muffins are just cupcakes in disguise, right? These would be fun to have around for a quick, occasional treat though.
4. The girls. Obviously. They are just so sweet together. Kaitlyn giggles like crazy when Hailey tickles her and Hailey spontaneously tells her how beautiful she is. They’re the sweetest!
Hailey went in for a kiss on the nose and Kaitlyn went for the wide-open-mouth-drool-kiss. Ha!
5. This fancy chocolate box from Davidson Chocolate that my friend Diane sent us. It’s made of solid chocolate, but too pretty to eat. What’s a girl to do?!
6. We finally picked out our tree yesterday at Josh’s Farmers Market!
Though we are a little late this year, I love this tradition.
After the girls went down, David and I put on Christmas Vacation and went to work on decorating.
I love it. We get an ornament each year to commemorate a big even/trip that took place and unwrapping those warms my heart as I place the meaningful ones front and center. I love a personalized tree.
7. Lilywrap. This clever, stretchy, reusable wrapping is just so easy and cute! My friend, Ashley, owns the company (women supporting women- YAY!) and sent me a few of their new prints to check out. Koda is grateful to be included in the fun this year!
I feel like with less than two weeks to go before Christmas, I’m finally getting into the swing of it. I still have plenty to do but am feeling excited and full of cheer. Bring on the weekend!
Christmas trees- do you prefer the coordinated look or a mix of random ornaments?
Though I love a beautifully decorated tree, I opt for the full-of-memories version myself.

Love your entire outfit in the pic of you with Kaitlyn. I saw your picture from the cookie exchange where you wore a purple dress? You look amazing mama!!!
Brittany Dixon says
Thank you!! The purple dress was from Stitchfix too. I swear I couldn’t dress myself without help ha!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine says
That dress is gorgeous!!!!
And so if your tree, haha! It is stunning!
Lindsey @ Simply Lindsey says
Although I love the look of a perfectly decorated tree that’s all coordinated, there’s nothing like a personalized tree! Christmas wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t decorate the tree with some of the handmade ornaments I made when I was in 1st grade haha. It’s all the memories! 🙂
Katie Harding says
I am so glad that you mentioned Stitchfix, I have been dying to try it but wasn’t sure what to expect but I love the idea and am totally going to try it!!
Jenny says
Britt, you look adorable in that pic with you and kaitlyn! 🙂 That outfit is awesome…who’s the top by?
Brittany Dixon says
Thanks Jen!! It’s by Pixley 🙂
Heather says
Before we had Elizabeth we just had a coordinated blue and silver tree, but now that we have her it seems our tree is filling up with special memories and I’m kind of liking the mix and match ornaments now! By the way all of your stitch fix outfits are adorable! I’m going to have to go back to them again once I’m done being pregnant. Oh and your kids, they are just precious!
Elizabeth Evans says
Love Lilywrap & Ashley’s entrepreneurial spirit!
Although I don’t do this myself, I love ribbon on Christmas trees.
Brittany Dixon says
I love ribbon on trees too! I did it for a year or two but our tree kept getting bigger and I have yet to buy new ribbon 🙂
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
I love those open mouth drool kisses. My girls say “mmmmmmmmwuah!” when they do it. Hysterical!
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
I love the way coordinated trees look but I feel like they are for department stores. Trees in peoples homes should have personality and show life events, like you mentioned. 🙂
Jenni says
Goodness your girls are just too cute! And where did you get the boots in the first pic? I need some! =)
Brittany Dixon says
Thank you!! And I think I got them from Macy’s?? It was only a couple of months ago and I can’t even remember. But Macy’s sounds right 🙂

OMG, I LOOOOVEEEE your pants in Christmas tree picking picture! I would love some printed leggings (finally haha!). Those little girls are just adorable! I just ordered my VERY first StitchFix that’s suppose to come on Dec 24th and I.cannot.wait. It’s allI thought about moving to the states! I think I would love to do a cookie exchange party. That would be too fun! Yup, can’t believe Christmas is so close. I have a lot to do still 😐
Heather says
I love a good random tree that is personal and a tad eclectic. Ours has such a wide variety of ornaments and we love the multi-colored lights that go with our retro-looking tree topper. We can’t decide if it’s hideous or not, but love it.
However, I do always swoon over a perfectly decorated tree like the ones you see in stores or historical homes. So pretty.
Laura @FitMamaLove says
I love your clothes from Stitch Fix! And those booties! I haven’t branched out into booties yet, but those are super cute! Have a great weekend!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh I’m still nervous wearing booties, but I love the way they look on other people so I’m trying to embrace them 🙂
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
You’re totally rockin’ both of those outfits you got from StitchFix! I love them both! And you look so cozy and festive in your Christmas tree outing. Cute leggings!
That little cookie exchange and get together you had at Julie’s sounds like so much fun. A night out with the ladies is so necessary every once in awhile!
Marnie @ SuperSmartMama says
I love your StitchFix outfits, but I have to say I *really* love the tights/leggings you are wearing in the Christmas tree shopping photo!!
And I’m totally in agreement with you: I love Fridays, memas (we call ours Yiayia — Greek for grandmother), and decorating the Christmas tree.
Although I love the look of coordinated trees, I’ll leave those to the department stores. We are loving our mix of random ornaments because we collect them from places we travel and for big events in our lives (new babies, first Christmas, etc.).
Brittany Dixon says
I saw similar leggings on a friend and had to order some! They are fleece-lined and though they are a bit pajama like, I can’t get enough. They make me so happy 🙂
I hope things are going well for you and that you’re getting a little rest with that sweet new baby!
Marnie @ SuperSmartMama says
Thanks Brittany, things ARE going well with the new baby. Fingers crossed!
Ashley says
Aw – thanks for the shoutout, Britt! You really didn’t need to – but I appreciate it. (Glad Koda likes his wrap too!) I think you’ve sold me on Stitchfix. Is that top you’re wearing in the first pic from there? I need that top. Seriously.
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
Brittany, you look awesome!!! And the girls are getting so big- so much cuteness! 🙂
Natalie @ The Ravenous Mommy says
This will be our first tree and I can’t wait to put it up! Waiting for my momma to come to help decorate.
Your girls are adorable 🙂
Erin G. @ Treats and Sneaks says
Love those Rudolph cookies…ADORABLE!
Shari says
Your tree is beautiful! 🙂
Monica says
I LOVE your Christmas leggings! I’ve been looking everywhere for a pair… where did you get them? I had one pair ready to order, in my online shopping cart, but I saw such terrible reviews, that I backed out…
Brittany Dixon says
I got them from My Sisters Closet online. I love that they are warm and fleece-lined, but the waistband drives me a little crazy. I wouldn’t highly recommend them, but they sure do feel festive 😉
