A travel gamechanger over the past few years for me has been having a stocked travel medicine kit ready to go. I’ve fine-tuned in over the years and over our travels to a set up that seems to really have most of our unserious travel woes and discomforts covered.
Today I’m packing for the beach and it’s so nice to know that this kit is already packed and ready to go. I leave in stocked and refill medications as needed. I keep a close-ish eye on expiration dates, but mostly just restock when I realize it’s been a long while since we’ve used a certain item.
I call it semi-crunchy because it’s a blend of traditional medicines and natural medicines, though no homeopathic ones are in this kit because strong smells, like essential oils, can render them ineffective. If I am going somewhere and want to bring homeopathic remedies, I throw this travel homeopathy kit on the other side of my suitcase from the essential oils.
Ok, enough explanation, let’s dive in!
What’s in my travel medicine kit and why:
First of all, the kit itself! This kit is fantastic (and comes in many fun color options if black bores you). It’s durable, spacious enough to fit all your medicines and supplements without being too cumbersome. The see-through mesh and clear zipper pocket allows you to easily see the contents. When unzipped, the kit opens fully to allow it to lay flat on a surface for easy access and use.
- Oregano Tincture – a homemade tincture that we use at the first sign of a throat tickle
- Eye Drops – gentle relief for travel related dry eye discomfort.
- Colloidal Silver – for wound care, fighting off infections, boosting the immune system.
- Turmeric Ginger Liquid Drops – joint support for active days, gut support.
- Xlear Nose Spray – for rinsing pathogens from the nose and sinuses- the use of xylitol in this product also helps reduce tissue inflammation and open airways.
- Melatonin – I prefer the one linked here for kids because it isn’t a gummy, but still tastes great and is easy to dose being 1mg each.
- Benadryl – because I don’t like messing with sincere allergic reactions when traveling. When I can find the chewable option, I prefer that for easy administering.
- Antacids – for tummy troubles when traveling. I like the Genexa brand.
- Advil – for when the pain/inflammation calls for a heavy hitter.
- Manuka Honey Cough drops – for minor throat irritation/dryness relief.
- Band-Aids Variety Pack – for cuts and scrapes.
- Throat Coat Tea – for sore throat relief and immune boosting sipping.
- Nighty Night Extra Tea – for help winding down in the evening and promoting sleep.
- Smooth Move Tea – for gentle but effective relief from travel related constipation.
- Wellness Pills – the ultimate OG of travel must haves! To keep the immune system strong and fighting off pesky viruses. Grab the chewable version for kids or those that don’t like capsules.
- Lavender Essential Oil – for bug bite relief and sleep promotion.
- Peppermint Essential Oil – for headache relief, for nausea relief, and to promote energy
For the items that come in big bottles, I use these small travel bottles that fit neatly into each section of the kit to separate out just the right amount that I need. I label them really nicely with painters tape and a pen ;).
While I keep this stocked and ready to go for travel, it’s also just nice to have on hand at home in case a situation arises and my home stock is lacking in something I need.
If you have any questions about the kit or items I have in it, just ask! And if you have a must have travel supplement or medicine that you think I should check out, please share that with me as well. Happy (and healthy!) travels! <3

I’ve never used lavender oil for bug bite relief. I should stock up on some before the mosquitoes get crazy here. Have fun packing! Can’t wait to hear about the beach adventures.

Oh my goodness yes you must try it! Even David (my favorite skeptic) admits it works 🙂

I bought that travel kit when you first shared it and we love it. It’s so roomy and perfect for fitting everything for us and the kids. We have some of the same items and the homeopathic kit. A few add ons are methylene blue dropper, minerals to add in our water, ginger gum/candy for nausea, traditional medicine for possible ear infections (had to reschedule a flight home from Costa Rica because of one!), stuff for possible swimmers ear, arnica gel for soreness, vitamin c tablets.

So glad it works so well for you, too! Tell me more about methylene blue dropper. What do you use that for? Minerals are a good idea. I have a dropped of those I always forget about. And now that I’m thinking about it, I’ll probably throw in some LMNT packets, too 🙂

Methylene blue 1% comes in a bottle with a dropper. I use it in the a.m. in my coffee, you can’t taste it. I learned the hard way when I used it in water at first! Check out this very informative book – https://a.co/d/aHvTIXH
The minerals come in a large 32oz bottle. It’s called Living Water Minerals from Cultivate True Health (naturopath doctor we know). We add a tablespoon in our water pitcher, a glass of water, smoothie, etc. Eliminates more than 250 contaminants found in water. Also helps with sleep, digestion, immune support, etc.
Can’t take credit for this, I take my hubbie’s recs and we all do what we can to stay healthy!
