Do you ever have a good, deep, soul cleansing conversation with a friend and you just feel fabulously wrung out? That’s kind of how I feel after yesterday’s post. It left me feeling amazingly empty, but also lacking blog topic ideas. So, is it cool if we just kind of chat today? Oh, what’s that? I can’t actually hear you respond through my computer screen? I’ll take that as a yes then…
I’m sitting out on the porch this morning and it’s actually cool out. Like, hm, maybe I should grab a blanket to throw over my lap kind of cool. Bless the Carolinas and their four seasons because I always get excited when I feel the change start to creep up. I’m especially giddy about football. I love college football season and am hoping to make it to Athens at least once this year. It’s been a while since I’ve tailgated with friends… I mean, just check out my hair color.
Keeping up those kind of highlights on my naturally dark hair took commitment.
Ok, enough about me, let’s share some things I’ve been reading lately.
…actually, let’s start with watching.
Lindsay has been doing a challenge of vlogging every day this week and took topic requests. I begged her to chat about homeschooling and she obliged in this great vlog about how she homeschools her kids. I’m still in a gather-all-the-info I can phase, but it is something David and I are considering. Even if it’s not something you are interested in, she links to some products and I’m definitely getting this for Hailey.
My Dad writes articles for several newspapers on the regular, and posted one yesterday to his blog about children and constructive discipline in which he shared a clever method for ‘ungrounding’ a child. I might have to try this when the girls are older!
Nicole spoke with her daughter’s preschool director about the snacks that they served and is helping them make a change- awesome! She listed out some healthier (nut-free) snack alternatives on her blog.
I loved this post about preventing sibling rivalry. I was pleased to read #5, as it is something I do with Hailey without even realizing it could help nurture their relationship.
My friend Alexis (standing next to me in the above picture) lives in Boston and writes a wonderful lifestyle/design blog. She recently wrote a post titled 48 Hours in Boston that is an awesome rundown of things to do/see/eat if you were there for a weekend. I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking to visit!
I can’t wait to make this dish: roasted tomatoes with goat cheese polenta.
This post about contemplating a “gap year” was so interesting to me. Is this a thing more people are doing? The comments made it sound like it!
Recently I was asked what blogs I read on the regular. I’m actually trying to comb through the ones I read and branch out into new categories. I LOVE food/health/fitness, so don’t get me wrong, but I’d love to start including some blogs that talk about motherhood, travel, finances, life, raising kids, homesteading, etc.
If you’ve found a blog that you are loving lately, will you share it in the comments?
And if you write a fab blog yourself, share it! My bloglovin feed needs a shake up!
