I’m sort of a jack of all trades, master of none when it comes to fitness. I like to switch things up to keep my interest, though sometimes my interest wanes anyway and I end up spending 1.5 hours sitting at the gym on my phone.
In my defense, yesterday was a little rough thanks to my allergies and lack of sleep from the aforementioned ailment. Thank goodness for 2 hours of child watch because I eventually got off my butt to do something.
I made it 15 minutes and 1.5 rounds into a lower body circuit when I waved the white flag. I just wasn’t feeling it.
Exercise is my struggle. I talk food because I love food. I love shopping and cooking and researching, but exercise? I usually love it best when it’s over.
That’s why I must keep myself interested and challenged. It probably is why I come across like a scatterbrain with fitness. One week, I’m a hardcore wannabe yogi; the next I’m considering trail running. There are a few things on the horizon I am looking forward to in hopes of getting jazzed up about exercise.

I’ve heard amazing things about these workouts. My best friend is obsessed and it has me eager for the one near me to finally open. Locals, it’s going to be in Birkdale and should be opening soon. You can find more info on their facebook page. They don’t offer childcare, but I’m hoping I can find a way to make it work if I end up liking the classes.
Have you heard of CrossFit? I might be the only person left who hasn’t tried it and I’d love to see what it is all about. I think it may be a good fit for me because the workouts are short and intense. Again, no childcare, which makes it hard to do consistently. I’ve heard it only works if you’re able to do it consistently. Sigh.
I’ve been wanting to get back into running more consistently, and what says motivation like being chased by the walking dead? This 5k is held May 19 in downtown Charlotte and I think it sounds like so much fun!
