I learned that leaving the farmers market with nothing more than a single mushroom does not mean it was a wasted trip.
I realized homegrown strawberries are sweet, but watching Hailey’s joy when she finds a newly ripe one is sweeter.
I discovered that my baby girl is learning patience as she meticulously pulled off all the pieces of the leafy green top, until only the bright red remained before popping it into her mouth.
I noted that I’m really great at growing mint.
And dill.
And weeds.
And that I gave up on my garden too quickly. I want to try again.
I remembered it had been too long since our last date night and how nice it is to have an evening out with David.
I also learned that maybe I’m too hard on my fashion sense and maybe I can look pulled together when I try.
I confirmed that my ideal sushi selection is a roll that contains all the options in one.
I decided that Sunday afternoons are a great time to be productive, but that sometimes they are better spent soaking up the late day sun with the family.
I also realized I may still be Scrabble champion, but David is gaining ground.
Did you have any epiphanies this weekend?

That picture of Hailey with the strawberry is too cute. Her hair is getting so long … it looks adorable!
Brittany Dixon says
It is getting so long! I can’t decide whether to trim it or not, but I just can’t bring myself to 🙂

Looks like a fun weekend. I have to get back to the Farmer Markets out here this coming weekend. Once again, Hailey, just TOO cute!!

I realized (well I already knew) that I love my husband’s extended family. We always have so much fun together!
Brittany Dixon says
Aw, that is such a blessing! I feel like so many people don’t like their spouse’s family. Lucky you!! (and me, too, I love mine :))
Alex says
You looked beautiful on your date!! And I absolutely adore that picture of Hailey with David! Glad you had a nice weekend 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Thank you so much! Only when I get dressed up do I realize how good I feel with make up on and hair done. Maybe I should think about trying it more often… eh, we’ll see 😉
Hope you had a great weekend too!

I’m curious about the “one mushroom” you bought! Yesterday, from the farmer’s market here, I picked up some zucchini, raspberries, eggs, and a steak for my husband. I always get so excited about the amazing prices!
Brittany Dixon says
It’s a reishi mushroom for making tea! I’m anxious to see how it goes. Love your farmers market haul- YUM!
Christine@ Apple of My Eye says
Aww Hailey is getting so big- she already has more patience than me ;)! I;m glad you could get out for a date night. They’re so great at completely relaxing and enjoying time with your love bug!

What a great looking weekend!! It’s not really an epiphany, because I already knew it, but spending the entire weekend with family is the most wonderful weekend ever 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Aren’t family weekends the best?! So glad you had a good one!

Some great discoveries you made this past weekend 🙂

I learned that the world is not going to end if I don’t log into my work email and get caught up on Sunday afternoons. And stressing over it just isn’t worth it.
Cute date night outfit!
Brittany Dixon says
Date night dress compliments of stitch fix- haha 🙂
And hell yes for NO WORK EMAILS on Sunday. Glad you could resist.
Verna says
The baby who has been sleeping so well, will decide Sunday night to stay up until 11pm. He made it up to me by only waking up once, and he’s still super sweet and super snuggly.
Brittany Dixon says
Waking up only once this soon? I’d say that’s pretty great momma! 🙂
Brittany says
I learned that sometimes you have to just be lazy, let the dishes and laundry pile up, and just focus on time with family… the other stuff will always be there!!
Brittany Dixon says
YES! Weekends are for fun. You have all week to get things cleaned up… or not. Are they really that important in the grand scheme of things anyway? 🙂

I realized that I actually do like living in Miami. It’s taken me a while to get here, but I finally realize that it’s all going to be ok. 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Oh I’m so glad to hear that!! I have a friend who moved from Miami a couple years ago and still talks about how much she misses it. Must be a fun place to live. Glad you’re enjoying it 🙂

I ran the Foam Fest obstacle race this weekend and had to climb a 20 foot double sided cargo net. I’m terribly afraid of heights when I’m not secured, but I did it. My realization was that I can do anything I put my mind to!
Brittany Dixon says
That sound terrifying (I’m scared on heights, too!), but AMAZING that you conquered it. High five! I’m not sure what foam fest is, but it sure sounds like a lot of fun 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Oh my gosh just checked out your pictures and it makes me want to sign up for one STAT! How fun!!
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
Sounds like a great weekend 🙂
