Wow, you guys. Can I just say I’m one giant mushball after reading (each and every one) of your comments (…maybe multiple times). I really appreciate you all so much and look forward to ‘talking’ with you each and every day. Sometimes I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy…
Mean Girls, anyone?? I had to do something to break out of the love fest! 😉
So after a big non-announcement announcement post, what do I do? Post something I’ve already been doing, of course. Haha! But I enjoy WIAW, so here’s what yesterday looked like…
Breakfast
Dippy egg (over medium) on 1/2 a whole wheat bagel with onion and chive cream cheese. It’s now a household staple.
Snack(?)
My morning plans got screwed up thanks to an early afternoon meeting, so I rushed to fit in baking some cookies for the TWO cookie exchanges I have tomorrow.
So instead of a real snack, I consumed a few bites of cookie dough (strictly for taste test purposes).
PS- I realize it looks like Hailey is smoking a cigarette, but I assure you she isn’t. She just discovered her fingers a week or two ago and now they are permanently in her mouth.
Koda was scouring the floor for flour spillage (don’t ask… my dog likes flour?) when I heard a scratching at our back door.
Our neighbor’s dog from 4 houses over occasionally stops by and scratches at the door as if to ask if Koda can come and play. I think it’s hilarious! So I let Koda out to go run with Lexie for a bit- the more exercise that dog can get, the better!
Lunch
I utilized some leftovers to create this pasta hodgepodge. Whole wheat rotini, sautéed yellow peppers, onions, mushrooms and broccoli, topped with marinara and red pepper flakes.
Snack
First there were the emergency almonds as I was heading into the meeting (I always have to keep snacks on me), then I got home and enjoyed a bowl of Amy’s lentil and veggie soup. Very tasty (with a splash of Texas Pete), even if it isn’t very aesthetically pleasing.
After letting it settle, I grabbed Koda and we did week 6 day 2 of couch to 10k. It was 58 minutes long with a 5 minute walking warm up, running for 3 minutes then walking for 2 minutes 10 times, and a 5 minute walking cool down. We covered 4.3 miles while Hubbs watched Hailey, and I snapped this freaky, washed out picture to prove it.
Dinner
I realized at this point I had been an accidental vegetarian again. It happens. I cooked steak for Hubbs’ fajitas, but opted to go with the bean route myself (it’s cheaper… I don’t have to buy as much meat and I usually don’t miss it).
I had romaine, sautéed onions, mushrooms and peppers, vegetarian refried beans, avocado, sour cream and salsa. Delish!
Bedtime Snack
After enjoying a little hot TUB time with the hubby (Thanks RACHEL for pointing out that I did NOT mean HOT TIME with hubby- haha!), I came in needing a little something to snack on before bed. What’s better than milk and cookie?
Not much 🙂
And off to bed I went!
Post baby body update is coming soon… maybe I should have skipped the cookie! Oops. C’est La Vie!

Do you find that with Amy’s canned soups, you can still taste them like hours later?
Brittany says
I haven’t noticed it, but now I’m going to pay attention after the next one I eat. Like, a bad taste? I think I might still enjoy tasting it hours later- haha!
Linda says
Did you mean hot tub time with the hubby or are you just sharing really personal details with your blog readers? 😉
Brittany says
Well I always say I like to be open and honest 😉 total mistake!! Thanks for pointing it out!

Love that pasta dish of yours – now in the mood for some broccoli myself 🙂
Good going on the exercising.
chelcie @ chelcie's food files says
I love that version of amy’s canned soup!
Madeline@Food, Fitness, and Family says
Hey there’s not with hot time either haha. Love all your eats … mmmm 🙂
Kristy @ Breath of Sunshine says
mmmm….I think I just decided what to make for dinner! I love all your posts – baby posts, food posts, exercises posts. 🙂

That’s so cute! Our neighbors father visits sometimes with his boxer, Dutchess who comes to our back door and does the same thing as if asking for Ginger to come outside! It’s so cute. The two of them are the absolute perfect playmates, same size, same type of “play manners” (meaning ROUGH) and she comes back inside an hour later absolutely beat (and covered in Boxer slobber) and sleeps the rest of the day. Fine by me!
Brittany says
Koda plays rough, too, once she is comfortable with a dog. Too bad you and Ginger don’t live close enough for doggy play dates!
Danielle @ Long May You Run says
Buahahaha hot time!!!! lol… that kind of made my day =)
My one dog likes to lick flour off the floor too. He’s a little off though (jack russells…).
Rachel @ My Naturally Frugal Family says
I have had that lentil soup and it is good, but totally not attractive at all.
I love the dog play dates…so funny.
Tina @ Best Body Fitness says
I often go the accidental veggie route. I just enjoy vegetarian options more. But I like knowing that if I want meat, I can have it. I know deeming things off limits (even for the viable reasons people choose to go vegetarian), doesn’t suit me mentally.

Umm how cute is it that your neighbor’s dog comes over looking for Koda!? Love it. Great job on the workout! You’re my postpartum exercise inspiration! 🙂
Kristen @ The Concrete Runner says
Look yummy! I love when my snacks are bites of cookie dough!
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
Lexie is a cutie! My mom’s dog is Lexi! What a great name…haha.
I wish doggies knocked on my door to play with Ryder — how cute!!
Once you pointed out it looked like Hailey was smoking, I couldn’t stop laughing! It totally does!
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
I could LIVE off of Amy’s organic low fat black bean soup. is the lentil just as good?
Lauren says
Hot time with hubs?! Ha ha ha, that’s a Freudian slip if I’ve ever seen one!
Courtney @ Fitness with a Fork says
Awww! Your neighbor’s pup looks just like my Levi! But, probably a bit bigger/taller 🙂 You can have a cookie every now and then! Especially when it’s that tiny, lol!
Rachel @ Not Rachael Ray says
Ha, you’re welcome 🙂 I’d wanna know so I thought I should do you the same favor!
Christina says
The drippy egg + 1/2 bagel and cream cheese combo looks delicious! I am going to definitely try this! And how adorable is the pic of your neighbor’s dog asking if Koda can play? Love it and thank you for sharing. 🙂
Roz says
I missed yesterday’s post. So glad you are feeling better and blogging from the heart. LOVE the pic of the guest dog. So fun. Take care Brittany!!!
Jessica says
I love Amy’s Soups, but I haven’t tried this flavor yet. It looks delicious!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
That pasta veggie randomness looks delicious.
And I find myself being an “accidental veggie” almost every single day. 🙂
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
OK, I guess now it’s more purposeful…but after FINDING myself that way so often…it stuck?
