WOW. Here in North Carolina, we had some crazy weather last night. I woke up around 2:00am to a loud SMACK sound. It startled me, as did the phone call from the weather service warning that a tornado had been spotted in my county. The weather was intense, but I eventually fell back asleep.
I woke up this morning to assess the damage…
the smacking sound? That was the top of our hot tub being ripped off and into our bedroom doors. THANK GOODNESS it didn’t hit at another angle and burst through them.
Peaking into the back yard… tree down! Thank goodness it didn’t didn’t hit the deck… or the trampoline 😉
In the front yard- EEKS! Another pine tree uprooted!
I am incredibly grateful that none of the crazy weather caused any damage to the house… and that they were pine trees (Who likes pines, anyway??).
I’m also grateful that nothing fell on the car parked in the driveway… who’s car? Look who’s in town!
MOM IS HERE!
We’re spending today doing baby things… cribs and bedding and prenatal yoga- OH MY! 🙂
So, sorry for the short post this morning, but today is Mom, Me & Baby Ds day… check out Baby D- baby is growing! 18 weeks today!
Did you get any crazy weather last night?

Glad you are all ok and no major damage was done. Y’all have a wonderful time and try not to get in too much trouble with your Mom! 🙂
Brooklyn @ Veggie Table says
We had crazy weather in lower Alabama also – no tree uproot-age though! Yay for your Mom being in town and Baby D shopping! 🙂
Caree @ Fit-Mama says
I had crazy weather the night before so the storms that hit us the night before headed straight for ya’ll!!
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says
Crazy weather. We had a beautiful spring day and then snow at night (on Sunday) What a weird year so far!!
Katie @ Healthy Heddleston says
Our crazy wind was two nights ago and all day yesterday — guess it was on its way to you! Love that you have a trampoline — can I come over and bounce??

The weather woke me up too. I was actually awake enough to announce to Brad that he would be driving me to work in the morning (rather than walking) if the weather continued into the next day. Your mom and your bump are so cute! 🙂

Yay 18 weeks!!! I like seeing your progress because I feel like it is a lot like mine, and that makes me feel normal. Have you been hungry all day? I have. Between 16 and 18 weeks baby doubles its weight and adds an inch and a half to its length. It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago our kiddos were just super small bean looking embryos. Have a wonderful day 🙂
Maria @ Oh Healthy Day says
Sounds like it was a doozy. Call me crazy (most people do), but I love thunderstorms (but not tornadoes!). I love getting cozy in the spring or summer and watching the rain pour down. Oddly enough, where I love, we rarely,if ever, get thunderstorms (not enough humidity).

No crazy weather here last night, but you look great- baby is growin’!
Sarah for Real says
Glad no major damage was done! I think I must have been a logger in a former life because looking at that tree got me all excited for the chainsaw action to come! I love hacking up trees. When can I come over?
Corey @ the runner's cookie says
Yikes, that must have been quite the storm!! Very glad it didn’t hit your house! Your mom is gorgeous – hope you have fun doing baby things! 🙂
Melissa @ Be Not Simply Good says
So glad you didn’t have more damage!
Have fun with your mom!
P.S. I like pine trees. 🙂
Melissa says
Yep, we had extreme winds and rain in the area which brought along a cool front. Glad your house and, more importantly, you are okay.

No crazy weather here but glad nothing of yours was destroyed!

Autumn @ Good Eats Girl says
So glad you guys are okay after that weather! I would have FREAKED at the smacking sound on the house! I hope you had a great day with your mom!
Roz says

Wow! I left Charlotte on Monday morning to return to Cleveland and the weather was simply perfect there when we left. I guess we missed out on the bad stuff. Glad for you that your home did not get any damage. My husband and I are relocating to Charlotte I just got an offer from my company to confirm my transfer. We found an apartment in Huntersville and I am really looking forward to it.
