Good morning, happy Friday and THANK YOU for all the feedback through the survey! There were 871 total responses and I read every single comment at least twice. I’m scribbling notes and have some fun ideas, so really, thank you so much. I want to share the results with you, but first, a few odds and ends.
First up, a little peak of reality.
This picture is not staged. David snapped it Tuesday afternoon when he got home. I had both girls down for naps and went to dry my hair. I made it half way through before I went to snag my phone from the bed and ZONK. I was out. It was a bit of a hectic week.
Luckily with help from my friend, Alison, and fabulous Mema, things worked out and I got to return to WCCB Wednesday morning!
I know most of you don’t care for videos (I mean, how cool that I know that now right?!), but it may be fun to watch because Kaitlyn makes her television debut!
In other news, I FINALLY got my hair cut. 4.5 inches chopped. I think I lost at least two pounds.
Then I found them last night in here.
They were good.
Ok, to the survey! First of all, I was not drinking when I created the age box categories, but I might have well of been. 18-25, 25-30, 30-40… I mean, is it that hard to create more balanced age boxes? Apparently. But let’s just go with it…
Most of you are in the 30-40 range, 49.6% to be exact. Followed by 35.5% in the 25-30 age range.
78% of you are married and 3% of you are currently engaged (congrats!!).
The majority has been reading for a while- thank you!! It’s so cool to hear from people that have been reading since before I was pregnant with Hailey. You’ve really seen my highs, lows and mistakes, huh? Thanks for sticking around! 35% of you have been reading for 2 years or more and 33% have been reading 1-2 years. 16% have been reading 6 months to a year, 14% have been reading 0-6 months and 4 of you are here for the first time (Welcome!).
The topics question was really interesting for me see.
I worry sometimes that I bore you with too many little life stories or details, but apparently they aren’t so bad? Overall I took from this that the blend of topics I write about is pretty decent, as there isn’t anything you collectively hate. And I won’t be rushing to fix up my youtube channel anytime soon (I feel ya, other nursing mommas or working ladies that can’t have goofy videos blasting).
Finally the comments. You must have gathered I made the comments section mandatory. What a pain, right? But really, that was the most helpful part! Before hitting publish I braced myself, ready to receive the criticism I opened myself up for, only to find that I must be a little jaded because you guys are the freaking NICEST people and had me in tears more than once. Seriously, can we plan a giant girls weekend powwow?
Ok, moving on. The comments were so helpful. Your suggestions on topics, points to improve on (I did switch my twitter so it does not promote old posts as often- see, I never knew that was annoying- thanks!) and general feedback was incredible. Of course, the juxtaposition of opposite opinions was to be expected…
Oh my gosh, please no more Munchkin Meals!
followed by
I came here for Munchkin Meals and it’s my most favorite thing!
So I know I can’t please everyone or honor every request, but to get a general consensus on topics was helpful. A few of you mentioned your disdain for sponsored posts. I get it, I really do. I’m going to chat with you about it in a later post in more detail.
This weekend I plan on reading the responses, again, and working on some general topic guidelines for upcoming weeks. Perhaps the most useful thing that came from it is that I’m feeling refreshed, inspired and fully convinced of how awesome y’all are. I wish I could give you all $50 for taking the survey, but the randomly chosen winner is comment #40, Melissa! I’ll be emailing you this morning!
And if you haven’t taken the survey and want to, please do! I’ll be reading over the results all weekend.
OK, whew, just push publish Brittany! This is entirely too long. Have a fantastic weekend!

Where did you get your dress? It looks great!
Brittany Dixon says
Thanks! I got it at Banana Republic on sale two weeks ago 🙂
Monica says
Wow! You did so great on your segment! 🙂 Well done!
I expected your voice to be much higher for some reason (and with an accent? I don’t know)… you have a great voice for interviews/TV/etc… 🙂
Brittany Dixon says
Thanks!! I often hear that people expect my voice to be higher.I guess my excessive use of !!!! and emoticons gives that impression haha 😉

That dress looks fabulous on you!! Loved the news segment too.
Would love to hear about any recent Stitch Fixes you have had! Thanks for helping me start my mornings off healthy, I’m always inspired to continue my healthy day after reading your blog.

I’m sure all those survey results were really interesting. Oh, and look at you hot mama. OwwOwwwww!!! I see that tiny bit of beauty sleep did wonders. 😉

OMGosh…that first picture made me LOL! That has def happened to me before! I am one of your “New” readers in the past 6 months! I love your blog! Keep it up! 🙂

Brittany – I love this blog. I look forward to reading it ever morning while I have my coffee. I am 26/married for 6 years/have two kids (5 and 9 mo) so I really connect with your posts. I wish my daughter ate half the things yours does but thanks to your blog (I’ve been reading since you were pregnant with Hailey) I have been pushing a much bigger array of foods onto my younger one than I did with my older kiddo. Thanks for sharing your life with us!

I love watching your WCCB segments! Great ideas. And Kaitlyn…ohmygosh, SO cute!
Marnie @ SuperSmartMama says
I love the photo of you face planted on the bed. Too funny. And so relatable (I’ve been there).
Thanks for sharing the results of your survey. I found myself nodding with alot of the results, and it seems you have a like-minded community (for the most part) that comes to your blog regularly to enjoy a day in the life…!
Erica { EricaDHouse.com } says
Wow you’ve got a lot of married folks reading! I’m at about 50%. I also did a survey last year and that’s when I realized people hated when I posted recipes (since there are SO many other better sites to get them from) and loved loved loved anything super personal.

That first picture had me cracking up! That is how I feel most days with 2 kids 🙂 Ha ha. Loved your WCCB segment and you looked great! I definitely hope you keep up the munchkin meals…they are really helpful and full of great food ideas!

I’m glad you felt the love! 🙂 I forgot to mention in my survey – I’m also in the LKN area so I really like when you mention local places/events/etc.!
Danica @ It's Progression says
I love the dress you wore for the news clip! And your haircut looks beautiful.
Brittany Greer says
Aw, that pic of you crashed on the bed is too funny. Glad you could fit in some rest!! I love the striped dress and am excited for you getting so many survey responses to help guide your blogging!

We just found out that we are expecting our first, offically! (via blood test results this Monday) and it has been incredibly helpful to read your old posts about early pregnancy. Thanks so much!
Amy says
I LOVE the first pic! I could happily do that right now as I type this. And in keeping with the nice-reader theme…your haircut looks great and the TV segment was awesome. (I’m at work and shouldn’t be watching…ooops…sorry, boss.) I would be so nervous – you’re a natural! 🙂
Melissa says
I love the dress!! It looks fab! And I love the fact I was the random winner. Thanks!!
Avery @ Young Aspirations says
So like I mentioned before I never get to comment anymore, but the baby is currently napping (rare these days apparently) so I’m here! 1st – DYING over that first picture. The world would be a better place if we all had snapshots of our reality, haha. 2nd – old news but I partially hate you for Kaitlyn sleeping through the night but only because I’m super jealous 🙂 🙂 And everyone is right – you are lucky!! 3rd – I love your hair!! I got mine cut recently too and wondered what the heck took me so long! 4th – somehow I missed the survey post?!? I’m gonna go take it right now! I don’t know why anyone would say they’re not crazy about videos! I would watch videos all day long! I love seeing a more “real life” version of people. I feel like it helps me get to know them better! Helps to put a voice with the written words, ya know? Happy Friday!
Erin says
Your hair looks great!
The first picture is killing me! What is it about naps and sleeping the wrong way in the bed? I do the same thing, i think because then it feels less official.
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
I happen to LOVE the videos!! Another awesome segment, Brittany! I loved seeing Kaitlyn on there, too! Gorgeous dress too, by the way!

Hi Brittany! I’ve never commented before but have always thought of it! I must say I’ve grown to love your blog over the past few months as I feel it is so relateable (I too have a little one at home). I love your sense of humor and how you aren’t afraid to be REAL (and post pictures like the first one hahah :)). We readers enjoy when every picture you post is not “picture perfect.” Keep on blogging, I love reading! And your babes are beautiful. PS. Great name 😉
Kim says
Hey Brittany, so I am one of the “younger, under 30, not married” readers. I know this sounds strange but I LOVE the munchkin meals posts, even though I don’t have children. I am a Physician Assistant and I always have parents asking me about nutrition at well-child checks. I have gotten SO many great ideas to share with them about healthy foods for toddlers from reading your blog. You are doing an exceptional job raising your daughters and you have even made MY job a little easier!

Like your new haircut and the dress is a great choice.
Alex @ Get Big, Go To Work says
Loved your debut on the news since having Kaitlyn. I don’t have kids yet, but I thought the nacho idea was genius. So unique.
Thanks for hosting the survey giveaway.
