Know what makes Mondays manageable?
MAIL.
I love mail! Especially this time of year when Christmas cards are arriving 🙂 And every now and then, a little something extra will show up to make you smile.
Like yesterday…
Wrapped in a shoe box and a Whole Foods bag?! I love this girl.
But inside is where Corey really stole my heart…
Chocolate almond biscotti?! I couldn’t wait to try it…

Deeeeeeelicious!!! Thank you SO much Corey @ The Runner’s Cookie! I could hardly sleep last night knowing this was waiting for me this morning…
Moving on…
did you know Christmas is NEXT WEEK?
I just realized this yesterday, which sent panic through my veins because we I’M hosting this year!! First time ever hosting, and I really couldn’t be more excited. However, I’m realizing a little bit of planning may be in order, so yesterday I began to organize my thoughts…
Doesn’t look very organized, does it?
I’m getting there though! I thought about what to serve while I ran on the treadmill at the Y…
Above: PROOF. 2.91 miles in 30 minutes.
I get wayyyyy bored on the treadmill!
And decided I better pay a visit to the butcher. Now, I’ve never been to a butcher shop before, but I found one in Mooresville and I highly recommend visiting one! The guy I spoke to was a professional chef and he helped me work out which cuts of meat I should use and how to prepare them. He was SO helpful!
The results:
Prime Rib for Christmas Eve & roasted Turkey for Christmas Day.
Now all I have to figure out are the sides…
I’m trying 2 new recipes and will be featuring them on the blog over the next two days, so please stop by to offer me your feedback and suggestions.
I need all the guidance I can get… I have NO idea where to start for dessert. Cookies? Pie? Cake? Ice Cream? AHHHH!!
If I get too stressed out, I’m just going to resort to dancing it out. Like I did that one time when I taught a guy how to Dougie.
😉 Happy Tuesday!

🙂 Thanks Brittany! Was the biscotti stale yet?? If it was you are very sweet to eat it anyway! (Grr post office.) Hopefully my recycled packaging gave you a laugh…haha thanks again, I’m so glad I got to send something to you!

You can do it! 😀
On your blog, I’ve seen that you are a good cook and that you always wear a friendly smile! That sounds like a winning combination for hosting Christmas. Good luck!

Getting packages is the best! Especially when they’re filled with good food. 😛
Oh, and getting bored on the treadmill..I couldn’t agree more! I ran on one yesterday to get out of the wind and was soooo bored the entire time. Outdoor running use to be too much for me, but it’s so much more fun than those dang treadmills.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with! I’m going to be at my in-laws for Christmas and my MIL will cook me breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let her. Hopefully I can treat them to a meal or two.
Maria @ Oh Healthy Day says
Please don’t remind me that it’s next week – I still have shopping to do! Yikes!
I’m sure whatever you choose for sides – they will be great!
Christina @ Food.Fun.Fabulous. says
Hey Brittany, your package just reminded me – did you ever get the Food Should Taste Good sampler?
