Sundays are good days to count your blessings, right? Then consider this quick post my gratitude reflection for the day.
To start, we are back! We had an amazing trip and I can’t wait to share it with you after I sift through the 647 photos we took.
Let me begin with recognizing how grateful I am for the opportunity to spend a week with my love in paradise. For a week, we stopped being mom and dad and were just us. It was amazing.
I’m grateful that our planes, taxis, ferries and sailboat carried us safely to our destinations and back home again, because I was more than ready to squeeze this little face.
I’m not even sure how to put into words how incredibly grateful l I am for our parents. Mema and Grandpa took the first half of the week and Nana and Papa John stayed with Hailey the second half. Not only do I know they all take amazing care of her, I know they go above and beyond and have FUN with her. Parks, playgrounds, stories, walks, swings, the works. As grateful as I am that they offered, eagerly, to watch Hailey, I’m also grateful that Hailey had that time with her grandparents, one on one. There is no doubt she bonded with them immensely.
As if that wasn’t enough, we arrived home to a clean house that is more fully stocked with food than it usually is.
I think we’ve passed grateful and have moved on to feeling down right spoiled.
We’re spending today doing laundry and picking up a few items from the grocery, but mostly we are just playing with Hailey. It’s good to get away because it makes it even sweeter to come home.
More on the vacation coming tomorrow! I missed you guys

Can’t wait to hear about your trip! And I’m so with you – very grateful for parents that will happily watch the kiddos and that the kids get the chance to bond that much with them from time to time. 🙂

Sometimes I feel like gratitude is underrated – we get used to complaining all the time that we forget to stop and say thanks for so many things we take for granted. Thank you for reminding us to be grateful!

I’m glad the two of you had an opportunity to be just a couple and enjoy each other’s company. And I get it. I too would be ready to hold my two in my arms when I was gone from them for a week 🙂

I’m kind of glad I waited to catch up on all the vacation recaps at once, but I love this. Sometimes being away, and having such a wonderful trip, really just does serve as a fabulous reminder of what wonderful gifts/blessings you already have. 😉
