Do you still have that January freshness? You know, that excitement for what’s to come in the new year? I have it bad and it’s feeling oh so good.
I think it’s a combination of things that have me so jazzed up. One being the paleo challenge I’m on. Though I’m not convinced paleo is a way of life that’s right for my family, I do appreciate the real food goodness it focuses on. It’s helped me put the spotlight back on whole foods and my energy levels are feeling good (even with today’s 4:15 wake up time… teething, is that you again?).
But it even goes beyond good food.
Yesterday I got together with my local Shaklee ladies at Trump National.
I really love when we can all get together because the energy is unreal. There is something about getting together with women (and men, but none were representin’ yesterday) that all share a passion for health and helping people that invigorates me. Our team is awesome and my friend Brooke never fails to inspire me. Gatherings like this remind me the power of being around others that live a life of positivity. It’s contagious.
Sound like a love fest? It kind of was. Plus, there was salmon!
After being inspired by the ladies, I continued to get to play grown-up for the rest of the day. I had a conference call about a project I’ve been working on behind the scenes for months (years even?) that is now THISclose to being ready to share with you, then I had a chance to meet with the awesome people at one of my favs.
I grabbed some LaCroix while I was there to distract David from the fact that he can’t drink beer right now and picked up some more honey for a TV segment I have this morning with WCCB News Rising.
Needless to say it was a packed day full of the things that invigorate me- positive people with a passion for health. And I couldn’t have made it to any of these meetings without Mema’s help wrangling this saucy three-year-old.
We escaped the terrible twos, but I tell you what, three is trying to turn my hair gray some days. But that’s a post for another day. Let’s just say hooray for having awesome/involved grandparents. Hailey and Kaitlyn are some lucky little girls.
For dinner I doubled (tripled?) the veggies in this lemon rosemary chicken in an attempt to fill up David’s stomach (which he claims is slowly being starved ha). I think it did the trick! We even had leftovers.
Clearly this post is all over the place. Is it a WIAW? Is it about positive energy? Day in the life?
…can it be about all of the above?
I Just have this ball of joy, energy and excitement within me right now that’s pushing me to bring my best to life. As cheesy as it may sound, I feel inspired to be healthy, to be grateful and to share that with others.
Do you know that feeling? Maybe it’s your career, your family, your health, your faith…
Share it with me!
What gets your energy flowing and gets you excited?

You are an inspiration. It can be so easy to complain and dwell on negative things, but you inspire me to have have a positive attitude and do what I love! Thank you for that. I’d say a great workout definitely gets my energy flowing.

I have done whole 30 and am in the middle of one right now. If David is hungry then why doesn’t he up his overall portion sizes? More protein and fat should help in filling him up and stay full longer. Whole30 really pushed eating enough so you are satisfied and can make it to the next meal without a snack.

I’m trying to keep ahold of that new years excitement as long as possible! That salmon looks to good. A couple of my girlfriends and I are going to try a new salmon recipe together in a couple of weeks – I can’t wait!

Me too! I’m actually Whole30ing, and I’m in the stage where I’m really starting to feel better. That salmon looks amazing!
Also…man – don’t tell me that about the threes! We’re in the throes of the terrible twos with our son and I’m not sure I can do it for another year! AAAAAH! 🙁

I can feel you joy through the post! Just what I needed to read this morning!

Thanks for putting some positivity into the world this morning! I’m facing day three of a solid WEEK of 8-5 meetings that threaten to suck the soul out of me. It cheers me up to know that there are passionate people out there doing what they love. One day soon (liiiiiiiike Friday at 5pm) I will be one of them! 😉

Yay! I’m inspired this year too. Especially because I am starting a certification that could finally get me away from corporate America 😉 and it has to do with health and wellness, which is my passion too! I love energetic, positive posts (not say I don’t love the real ones too, lol – I also have a little one that’s starting to make me a bit bonkers with the tantrums haha!).

I’m definitely feeling revived and rejuvenated this month! I had a rough year of health last year (fertility wise) so starting the New Year off fresh and healthy is super important to me. I’m on day 11 of my Whole 30 and feeling great! More energy, better sleep and already feeling a bit lighter. Yay! Glad you’re enjoying your Paleo challenge! I’ve been sipping on La Croix plain water or Pellagrino with lime juice to take place of beer or a cocktail. Does David like Kombucha? GT’s are paleo approved 🙂

Posts like this definitely help get me energized for sure! Admittedly, I was more energized and excited a week or so ago, but now that I’m slowly getting over a cold, I find I’m getting it back again. I have a bag of clothes to get away and I want to see if I can make it two bags, and then maybe three. The thought of decluttering gets me super excited right now. I had considered doing a Paleo challenge, but then we got a breadmaker, so I think trying Paleo will have to wait. 😉 Instead I’m more motivated to bake more with my kids. My son had so much fun helping to make the bread and then periodically checking on it. Yep, I think I get most of my energy and excitement from other people! :p

I had that feeling yesterday. I had to attend a big meeting at work with all the bosses and some consultants. I was the only woman in a room of 25 professionals and before going, I started feeling intimidated and questioning my shoes (it’s snowy and icy here so I was wearing work boots) to bring a purse or not (not) and whether I was even important enough to be there (yes!). I left the meeting feeling so confident in myself and ready to kick butt at work. Looking forward to your big project announcement!

Eating right totally gets my energy flowing in the right direction. Way to go on your dedication to eating healthy. I made a lemon rosemary chicken the other day in my slow cooker and it was amazing! I’m also off alcohol for the foreseeable future and I have to say, I really am not missing it! Feeling healthy and energetic is better than any buzz it could give me!

Your energy is contagious, even though the computer screen!
Let’s see, I’m super jazzed about life in general, too. My business and business ideas and writing definitely get me excited, and just being alive and having my gorgeous daughter and wonderful hubby thrill me to no end, too! It’s good to be alive 🙂

You’re hot and energetic today with your blog and wonderful TV appearance! Your sunshine breaks through the blah of winter cloudiness.
Tanya says
Blah, I have none of the above! LOL the only energy I can put in to anything is thinking about getting this baby out. January just doesn’t feel the same this year! I cannot think about anything in my future past childbirth!
Irina says
Oh, I love your blog! I am sidelined by toddler ear infection and colds, but trying hard to hold on to my “energy ball” and organize my day. In the grand scheme of things I am so very fortunate to have my wonderful girls and all the comforts we have, and ear infections and colds will pass. Now, that cat that peed on the bathroom rug is another story 🙂 I may have let my “energy ball” slip away from me for a second there…
Thanks for a positive boost!
