Over the past few weeks, I’ve accumlated some new readers (HI EVERYONE!!) and so I thought a little ‘who am I’ post would be appropriate. I’ve seen this cute food survey going around and thought, if you are what you eat, this will show you who I am in no time 🙂
A is for Apple: What’s your favorite variety?
Like most of the world, I think Honeycrisp apples are delicious! However, a granny smith every now and then provides a good change of pace.
B is for Bread: Regardless of nutrition, what is your favorite type?
B should really be for BAGEL. Bagels are my favorite kind of bread. B could also be for biscuits, because they’re tasty too, but I love me some bagels!
C is for Cereal: What is your favorite kind currently? (just one!)
As much as I love cereal, I rarely eat it. It doesn’t fill me up and I end up eating mountains of it. Kashi GoLean Crunch is pretty delicious, and I refuse to buy Quaker Oat Squares because I will eat the whole box in one sitting.
D is for Donuts: You might not currently eat them, but what kind do you fancy?
Hmm… I’m not a big donut fan either. I’d rather have a bagel. I grew up loving marble frosted and I’m sure I’d eat one if you put it in front of me. But really… I prefer a bagel.
E is for Eggs: How would you like yours prepared?
Love me some eggs!! My favorite preparation is probably in omelet form. I love them stuffed with veggies and goat cheese or feta. I also love salsa on my eggs, no matter how they’re prepared.
F is for Fat Free: What is your favorite fat free product?
I hope this question means naturally fat free, because everyone knows I’m strongly against ‘health’ food marked for being fat-free and pumped full of sugar. I like Chobani fat free Greek yogurt and of course fruits and veggies!
G is for Groceries: Where do you purchase yours?
I’m not very loyal. I get around with grocery stores. I frequent Healthy Home Market and Fresh Market, get some staples at Harris Teeter, bulk items at BJs wholesale and keep dreaming about 2012 when they open a Whole Foods in Charlotte!
H: is for Hot Beverages: What is your favorite hot drink?
Hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps! .. though it’s hard to get excited about with it being 95 degrees outside.
I is for Ice Cream: Pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping.
Cookies and Cream! Though I find myself tearing up the carton …
J is for Jams or Jellies: Do you eat them? If so, what kind and flavor?
Not often, but I do love the occasional PB&J… mixed together 😉
K is for Kashi: Name your favorite Kashi product?
I love all their food! I buy their 7 grain crackers the most, but have also enjoyed their frozen pizzas, cereals and frozen entrees on occasion, too.
L is for Lunch: What was yours today?
A hearty salad monster with an Applegate Farms Apple & Chicken sausage. They are soooo good!
M is for microwave: What is your favorite microwave meal/snack?
Popcorn! But… I actually make that stove top, so… shoot. I don’t really use the microwave I just realized! Maybe for melting cheese?
N is for nutrients: Do you likes carbs, fats, or proteins best?
Bring that I’m a bagel lover, carbs are probably my favorite (pasta, chips, bread, potatoes, YUM), but I also love some healthy fats. Avocado, anyone?
O is for oil: What kind do you like to use?
Olive oil most often, unless I’m cooking at a high temperature (heat destroys olive oil).
P is for protein: How do you get yours?
Nuts, beans, peanut butter, chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt, fish… I think I do alright in the protein department. One of my favorites though is crab legs or shrimp!
Q is for Quaker: How do you like your oats?
I may be the only one in the blogosphere that isn’t an oats-addict, but I do enjoy oatmeal at times- especially with blueberries, almonds, chia seeds and honey.
R is for roasting: What is your favorite thing to roast?
Potatoes and vegetables – though this chicken is a close second!
S is for sandwich: What’s your favorite kind?
One with lots of veggies, hummus, goat cheese, avocado… mmm! But also a good, gussied up BLT is delicious, especially with fresh tomatoes on sourdough!
T is for travel: How do you handle eating while traveling?
What kind of travel? My general philosophy is to make the best decisions I can, but I don’t hesitate to indulge in the treats I really want. Since travel for me usually means vacation, it’s temporary, and it’s a-ok to have an extra martini, order the bisque and enjoy foods I don’t usually get to enjoy.
U is for unique: What is one of your weirdest food combos?
Hmm… Probably popcorn drizzled with Texas Pete! Mmm.. spicy!
V is for vitamins: What kind do you take?
I prefer to get my vitamins from the foods I eat, but right now I am consistently taking Juice Plus, as well as a prenatal (when I remember).
W is for wasabi: Yay or nay?
YAY! Wahooooo
X is XRAY: If we xrayed your belly right now, what food would we see?
Please don’t x-ray my tummy. I have a sweet little baby floating around in there.
Y is for youth: What food reminds you of your childhood?
Artichokes (dipped in hollandaise), peanut butter and jelly- mixed together, burgers on the grill and Blueberry Streusel muffins 🙂
Z is for zucchini: How do you prepare it?
I don’t, but I think it’s coming up in this week’s CSA box, so stay tuned for a new recipe!
Your turn! Pick a letter and tell me your favorite!
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
I’m obsessed with bagels too! I used to live off of them which wasn’t at all healthy.

T…I would have to pick travel too! We have gone on lots of adventures in the past 5 years the hubs and I have been together. It’s SO fun to explore new territory and get away from it all!
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
I feel ya on the oats. I do eat them almost every morning because its easy and stays with me a long time but I don’t get all excited over them.
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
I’m with you on loving BLTs — but a pastrami sandwich would definitely be my favorite.
Anastasia says
Aw, this is fun! I’m gonna do this on my blog too :]
Bagels are so stinkin’ good! Cereal never fills me up either. I always end up hungry half an hour later.
Rachel says
Haha, I’m with you on not being obsessed with oats. I like them once in a while, but they make me sleepy so I don’t tend to eat them a lot.
Cereal.. my current favorite is Frosted Mini Wheats. I can’t get enough of them for some reason!
Jane Preston says
Love your blog today! The bagel looked so darn good, I ran in the kitchen and made one!
I couldn’t chose between the B, S &V, so here they are: I really like the Thin Whole Wheat Bagels with 1 TBSP. peanut butter OR light cream cheese with a small amount of pepper jelly. But for “S”, I couldn’t live without my Healthy Shakes for breakfast . And, of course, I love the Juice Plus+ Chewables….as a healthy afternoon snack..
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
I love learning a little bit more about you! I meant to do this blogger chain letter of sorts, and keep forgetting. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
[And if you need some help with that zucchini….you know who to call.]
Heather says
I loved this blog. I thought your answer to X for Xray was cute so I picked that one: I just had my snack at 10:30 and I had carrots with roasted garlic hummus and a handful of trailmix, so delicious and just the right amount to get me to lunchtime.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Allison @ PickyEatingRD says
Z- zucchini: I am still looking for a fabulous way to prepare it so that I will actually like it!! I am sooo looking forward to your recipe.
Sarah for Real says
I feel like being a smarty-pants today so I’m going to mention that fat-free yogurt is not naturally that way. They spin the fat molecules out of milk in a process called centrifugation. Don’t get me started on homogenization and pasteurization. So not natural.
I think the only things naturally fat free are fruits and veggies, like you said! By the way, your lunch looks SO delicious and now I’m craving sausage!
Brittany says
You know I actually thought of you while I was typing that? 🙂 haha! I really did!
I guess I was thinking that the only thing I sometimes get fat free is Greek yogurt. And I have no choice but to go pasteurized right now- taking no chances with the baby in my belly. Love the feedback, though!!
Liz @ IHeartVegetables says
I like getting my protein through greek yogurt! YUM!
Brittney says
Love this Brittany! I kind of want to steal it and do a version of my own 🙂 Fun reading all your answers!
Melissa says
Fun stuff! Definitely a carb lover too! My dishes are currently undergoing the challenge thanks to you! 😉 Though I baked eggplant shrimp casserole instead of the cobbler.
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says
Lunch was a huge spinach salad with strawberries and goat cheese. For dessert I had fresh fruit. Yum!
erin says
glad to know i am not the only one who loves me some hot sauce on popcorn! Throw some franks red hot on there and I will eat the entire bowl.
Hannah (Culture Connoisseur) says
D is definitely for DONUT! How could you say anything else on this day- National Donut Day! 😉
Corey @ the runner's cookie says
Mmm the picture of that bagel is perfection! I think my favorite bread would have to be bagels too…there is just no beating them! Granola would be my favorite cereal if that counts, and yeah I could totally eat a whole bag if I wasn’t paying attention 🙂
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
oh my gosh… you just gave me the biiiiggest bagel craving. EVER.
McKayla @ Green Groats says
