My days are all sorts of thrown off between 4th of July coming up and getting back from Georgia yesterday. Since the holiday is on Thursday and most likely everyone will be too busy grilling out and splashing around to post about kid food, I’m postponing Munchkin Meals until NEXT Thursday, July 11. This will give you some more time to snap pictures and join in, too, so please do! I’ll be talking about some of the odd combos Hailey eats.
So, back to Georgia…
Hailey and I drove down on Saturday to spend some time at Nana and Papa John’s house. The icing on the cake was that Uncle Stat and Aunt Cara were there, too, so Hailey got to spend some time with her baby cousin, Kyla.
She loved baby Ky-Ky and enjoyed splashing around in the baby pool and playing dress up with Nana and Papa John.
The only thing better than seeing family is seeing MORE family. The real reason for the visit was to celebrate my cousin’s impending bundle of joy!
We spent Sunday afternoon at my Aunt Lynn’s house, where she threw a gorgeous shower for my cousin, Maya.
We all were impressed with the diaper cake and diaper wreaths Aunt Lynn made. My uncle Greg also showed off some mad skills with his watermelon carving.
We talked labor and delivery and chowed down on some delicious finger foods, because those go well together, right?
Of course, there were presents, too!
Please look at my aunt and uncle’s ceiling. Gorgeous, no?
It was great getting to catch up with family and feel the excitement build around meeting Olyvia Lynn.
Seeing baby items and itty bitty clothes just melts my heart.
I had such a wonderful time catching up with everyone and grateful that family doesn’t mind when your child who hasn’t napped in 2 days runs amuck.
Now I’m back home and prepping for friends that are arriving soon for the 4th!
What is your favorite part of showers?
Mine is a toss up between the mini cucumber sandwiches and presents. Baby stuff is just so sweet!

Hailey is very much still a toddler, but when I see her photos with the baby…oh man, she looks like a little girl. So adorable. This is the best age because they can communicate and play games and run amuk (that expression always reminds me of Hocus Pocus by the way).
I can barely get my house decorated and curtains on the windows…much less worry about decorating a ceiling. Impressive.
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
LOL I’ve never been to a baby shower.
