Wowie Maui! Maui Jims {Giveaway!}

Thank goodness it’s Friday. Not only am I a little worn down and could use the R&R, it also mean we’re one week closer to vacation!

Vacation? Yes, have I not already mentioned it 4 billion times? David and I have a big vacation coming up and I’m so excited I’m contemplating making a countdown paper chain- aren’t those the best?

We are going sailing in British Virgin Islands and I can almost smell the salty breeze, taste the pina coladas and feel the sunshine on my face. Luckily I won’t have to worry about all that sunshine because my eyes will be protected by THE best sunglasses around. What might those be?

Maui Jims, of course! Are you familiar with these sun glasses? They are incredible. They have a PolarizedPlus2 lens technology meaning they not only block UV rays without glare, but they also make the colors you see more vibrant and crisp. Proof.

We’re not new Maui Jim fans around here. David has worn them for years. Their customer service is impeccable and even after David broke his pair (his fault), they fixed them for only $10. When you are talking about high quality shades, that is impressive.

The kind folks at Maui Jim (who sign their emails with Mahalo! which always has me picturing them on a deserted island somewhere…) were awesome enough to send me a pair of their Maui Jim Women’s Baby Beach sunglasses.

Aviators. I’m in love.

I have an oblong face and don’t feel like any glasses ever fit me right, but these do! They are light weight and eliminate all glare. I forget I’m even wearing them sometimes and have worn them into stores. They’re that comfy.

But it didn’t stop there. They offered to send David a pair, too! He already has an everyday pair to wear, so after he calmed himself from the excitement, he chose the perfect glasses for sailing, the Maui Jim Banyons.

He loves them because they wrap around his eyes and neither sunshine nor ocean spray will bother him while we’re sailing. I imagine they’d also be great for runners, bikers, skiers and any other outdoor sports.

Still… it didn’t stop there.

What an awesome giveaway! I am the type that hates spending big money (if you consider $20 big money- haha!) on sunglasses. I did once and of course I accidentally broke them within a week- bummer!

I’d love some high quality aviators (I think the cheap ones are obvious, as they never look as good)- so would choose the ‘Baby Beach’ or the ‘Mavericks’. I also kind of liked the ‘Ginger’ ones.

It was the only time he had sunglasses that weren’t pretty much immediately lost or broken. Two years later as a new dad, he took our baby on an outing. he came back with her sunglasses, but not his own. I would love to be able to replace his for him! His looked like the makaha style, so that would be my pick!

I refer to Maui as “home” because ever since I was a little girl, it felt like I was going home when I visited the Hawaiian Islands. Maui was my particular favorite.

As for the sunglasses, I would pick the black and blue Surf Riders.
