It’s been 2 months now since sweet Hailey came into the world and we’re both working on our bodies. She’s working on growing and I’m working on shrinking!
Hailey’s 2 month checkup was yesterday and though I dreaded it because she had to get shots (more painful for me than for her!), I was excited to get her stats.
She weighs 11 pounds 9 ounces – 75th percentile
They measured her twice because they were so surprised she grew a whole 2 inches in one month making her now 23 inches long – 75th percentile
Baby girl is growing like a weed!
She is very interactive and smiles when we talk and sing to her. Her arm movements are becoming less jerky and she can get her hands in her mouth when she wants them there. Her eyes follow objects and she loves ‘reading’ books and looking in the mirror. She can hold her head up for extended periods of time when on her belly. She’s sleeping 9-10 hours a night and eating every 3 hours during the day.
I’ve received a few more questions about Hailey and plan to post about them, so keep sending them
Now, to Hailey’s momma.

Looking at this, it makes me really wish I would have measured my bust area before and after. I’m up a size in bras and don’t see any signs of that changing anytime soon. However, I don’t think I have an extra SIX pounds in my bra, which is how much I have left to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I’m trying not to focus to much on the scale, though I must admit it is frustrating when the weight fell off so quickly in the beginning to only lose 1 lb in entire month.
It’s been so long since I’ve had to lose weight, that this is a new challenge for me. It’s a little bit trickier this time, too, because I need to make sure I don’t lose my milk supply, which can happen if you cut calories or exercise too much.
However, I’m ready to develop a plan. I’m 2 months postpartum and I’m feeling really great, so physical discomfort due to labor is no longer an excuse (which I’m happy about!).
This post has been long enough for today, but tomorrow’s post will be a continuation. I’m going to breakdown what I’ve been doing, what I think I’m doing wrong and my plan going forward!
It’s time to take frustration and turn it into motivation!
What do you think is more challenging: losing weight or maintaining?

I think you look FANTASTIC!!! Trust me…the weight will continue to drop throughout the year. You’ll get back to your goal weight in no time. Just focus on the fact that you are healthy and feeling good, and you have a beautiful baby girl that is thriving!!
You look great! Just remember the final pounds probably won’t come off as fast because they’re needed to keep your milk supply up and keep Hailey growing like a little weed!
You look great! 1 pound is 4 sticks of butter! And you can tell what a difference from those photos!
you look fantastic!!!!
You look fantastic! And most importantly your little girl is healthy and growing. I’m sure this isn’t an easy time, but I admire your dedication to a healthy and moderate return to your pre-pregnancy physique.
You really look great! I know it’s probably harder to see when you’re looking at yourself day in and day out, but seeing these pics it’s very impressive.
Forget the weight, there’s a huge difference in those pictures! You look great- hope you feel great too
You look GREAT!!! And I think it’s awesome that you know you’re ready for make a plan. It took me a year after having my daughter (who is now almost 6!) to say I needed to get moving again! So you’re doing amazing
Plus that baby girl is GORGEOUS!
I would say maintaining is harder than losing. I lost over 100 lbs almost 12 years ago… and have kept it off (except for that 60 pound gain during pregnancy…oops!). But maintaining it every day since hitting that mark has been harder than losing mode!!
I see some crazy good changes over the course of the month despite only a pound loss. Now it’s time to amp it up and keep those changes coming.
I think you look great. And as for your question, I find maintaining harder.
Hot momma! Congrats on the progress to both you and Hailey
You look incredible, Brittany! I wouldn’t worry about it too much…
You look great Brittany!
I think you look great- there is a major difference between month 1 and 2 and it’s only been 8 weeks!
You look amazing, girl! I see a ton of changes- which just shows you can’t trust the scale. Keep up the great work!
And yay for Hailey growing so well!
I think you look great! Hailey too!
You look so great! And Hailey is so freakin adorable!
You look great! I hope to look that good 2 months postpartum! You’re lucky that you gave birth in October and are losing the weight over the fall and winter. At least you can hide under sweaters!
I’m due at the end of May so I’m scared of how I will look in warm weather clothes next summer…
I never lose the last 5 till I wean. Remember, your bod needs fat to produce the milk. Also, every 3 hours during the day? lucky. My 6 mo still goes every 2 during the day.
Don’t be discouraged by the 1 lb! You are going in the right direction, and you look great!
you look great! can definitely see progress….i’d focus on that, not the number, or lack there of
keep up the good work!
You look great, I am in the same boat, where I am 2 months into the whole body after baby process and where as it seemed to be going quick at first, I have a LOT of toning to do to be where I was before. But I figure it is all worth it for my little sweet girl, so I am just trying my best to be patient
!
I’m right there with you… 2 months post-partum with about 6 lbs to go. It’s frustrating!
You look fantastic!
Way to go! Just think – it took 9 months to put it on, so it’ll take even longer to take it off. (Putting it on is obviously the fun and easy part!)
I see such a difference in those photos! You are doing great!!!
You are doing a great job. As focused as you are on healthy eating it will all take care of itself. You look great! Hailey too. I now have an almost 15 yr old Hailey except she is Haylee.
It was sweet to see your babies name when you posted it. She is adorable!!!
You look fantastic Brittany. And that smiling picture of Hailey??? SOOOO cute!!!!!
YOU LOOK AMAZING!!!!
I can definitely tell a difference. Keep up the hard work, Mama!
You aren’t doing anything wrong, you have a 2 month old! And a lot of those 6lbs would be breast related. You look great and noticably different from last month.
I really struggled with getting in exercise when I transitioned from non parent to parent, but now after 3 kids I’m a pro at getting a workout in. In the early days I found exercise videos (I had a great one with 15 min workouts targeting strength training of different parts of the body), skipping (really good high intensity workout that burns a lot of energy in a short time) were great when I had a few minutes up my sleeve. I also prioritised walking as much as possible and leaving the car at home. My six year old pram would have covered THOUSANDS of kilometers. And I always prioritised running as me time. Whenever I got a chance to go for a run I would take it. I’d even go after a 2am feed sometimes! I still get up a 5.30 am so I can get a good run in before hubby leaves for work and my three darlings wake up. Being healthy and active is much harder as a parent, but definitely achieveable.
I see major changes! I love your blog, keep up the healthy attitude. It’s refreshing.
Time flies! I’m glad she was such a trooper with her shots. She’s so cute! You look awesome!
You are starting to look very good. Well done.
I love the pictures you post regarding your baby. She is so cute.
I think losing the weight is the hard part. For me, now that I am maintaining, is much easier than losing it. You need to be so diligent with your exercise and so careful with what you eat when you try to lose it.
I think losing weight is more difficult. Since my third child I have had a hard time getting the weight to come off.
However I think you look fabulous and only 2 months post partum. Keep up the good work!
I find maintaining the hardest part. When I’m trying to lose weight I’m more strict about “cheat” meals. However when I’m maintaining I notice that I let myself slide a bit more with the “cheat” meals. Eventually the “cheating” adds up and a few pounds creep up. : (
Just wanted to say that you look great! The changes from month 1 post partum to month 2 post partum are amazing! Keep up the hard work.
u look absolutely fantastic!!! seriously!!
I have accepted that I have a really curvy body and I like it.
Maintaining weight is usually more of a struggle, but for me, it is definitely loosing weight. But I am happy with my body, so I don´t mind
Okay, you look GREAT! Keep up the awesome work!
You look great! Don’t worry, you’ll get there : D
